Olympians Robbed
- U.S. Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte and three other members of the U.S. Olympic swimming team were robbed at gunpoint in Rio by armed gunmen posing as police officers early Sunday morning, he said.
Lochte told NBC [...] one of the men aimed a gun at his forehead during the robbery.
"I was with a couple swimmers, we got pulled over in our taxi and these guys came out with a badge, a police badge," Lochte said. "No lights, no nothing, just a police badge. They pulled us over. They pulled out their guns."
Thank goodness this didn't happen in Chicago! They probably would have been shot.

Get past the "Glitz" in Rio and it is a very depressed area. Just like Chicago, there are neighborhoods you stay away from.
This guy is lucky they did not kill him for his shoes.
I guess the Olympic committee was correct Rio is safer then Chicago
If it were held here they would have thought they were in a third world country.
Lochte is lucky they didn't cap his ass. They tell you to get on the ground, you better either do it or fight back with superior firepower. You don't stand there and argue.
I read online that the Australians have forbidden their atheletes to go to the beach in Rio, and they are not to walk anywhere, and only travel by car if they do go somewhere. Kinda like here.....
Now that the athletes are finished with many of their sports, expect to hear more of this.
Also expect the usual 10,000 condoms handed out at the Olympic Village story. Healthy young people are going to party hearty.
After losing the summer Olympics to Rio, Chicago has consistently taken home the gold for urban violence. The president can prominently display the gold medals highlighting his hometown legacy and his overwhelming concern while in the highest office in his new museum.
People are getting robbed and beaten in Chicago every day, they just aren't famous enough to make our own local papers, much less the national news.
Even when they get caught, they are usually back on the street before the insurance company's check clears the victim's account.
It sounds like Rio isn't a place you want to be out after dark, or maybe even in the day light. Is it even worse than Chicago?
I heard that the Rio police superintendent already stripped the robbers.
Bring them uniforms and all to Chicago. A robbery very professionally done
Chicago is on it's way to becoming like Rio.
Hey, if the Olympics were here we'd have the same nonsense. Our thugs would be at work too.
plenty of stories about how the police are not being paid... just supplementing their income...

Thank God the Daley Crime Family did not get their hands on Olympics.
There isn't room for it all.
Olympic spectators caught up in gun battle between criminals and police in shopping mall - which leaves robber shot dead in front of them
* Bank robbers caught by police opened fire with their handguns and one died in the exchange of rounds
* Latest crime to hit Rio de Janeiro during the Olympics, where 80,000 police and soldiers have been deployed to keep the peace
* Separately police and gangsters opened fire on each other in a favela slum near to Ipanema beach leaving suspected criminal dead

German Olympic coach and canoe silver medalist, 35, dies after his taxi was hit in a high-speed head-on collision in Rio
* Two members of Germany's delegation hurt in crash last week
* Stefan Henze, a former kayak silver medalist, was in critical condition
* He has now died of injuries to the head sustained during the crash
* Sport scientist Cristian Katini was also injured in the head-on smash
Policeman murdered after taking wrong turn into favela, more shooting after they went in and tried to find the offenders...Media bus had windows shot out, gov't claims "kids throwing rocks"...Heavy TV camera setup collapsed in the stadium, injuring several people...only 2,500 spectators in that stadium, designed for 45,000, a sea of empty seats...Australian gal extremely ill after sailing an event in that filthy Guanabara Bay...now a top pole-vaulter coming down with something bad...athlete's luggage blown up by bomb squad, turned out it was just a cell phone in there...
This will all be over in a few days. As always, the Olympics will go, the slums will remain. 20 BILLION DOLLARS spent, and Rio still won't have a sewage treatment plant...

Rio's 'highway of terror': Shooter takes aim at cars on 'Red Line' road that ALL Olympic athletes and fans must travel to get to games in Brazil
* Terrifying violence has spilled out from favelas to Red Line highway in Rio
* The road is the only route from the city's airport to the Olympic village
* Image has emerged of a shooter taking aim at cars passing down road
* He appears to be holding a semi-automatic rifle with a holographic sight
* Highway has been blighted by shootings, car jackings and hostage takings

Look at the pictures. Drivers out of their cars, taking cover behind concrete lane dividers. Everything in sight pockmarked with bullet scars. Looks like Fallujah.
Over 50 police officers killed in Rio so far this year.
Coppers standing in the airport concourse holding up big banners for the incoming tourists to see. "WELCOME TO HELL -- YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE IN RIO."
Draw your own conclusions.

Want to hear the frosting on the shitcake?
The swimmer that had his gold medal taken may still owe the USGovernment nearly $ 10k in taxes.
May be can write it off as a casaulity loss.
Hey Lochte, the taxi driver was in on this one
I heard the Rio police superintendent say, " I'm sick of this." ♠️

You can bitch all you want about how bad Chicago is. How violent and out of control Chicago is. The truth is, compared to many of these third world cities and countries, Chicago is a non violent utopia. There are countries with murder rates over 1,000 per 100,000. 1 or 2 out of every hundred are MURDERED. Not even Englewood is that bad YET. Entire neighborhoods where police do not go, not even squads of police.
Obama and Hillary want to make us more like those countries. They are bringing in millions of these failed third world "refugees." Hillary is corrupting the rule of law. Want her to leave you alone? You better pony up a big ass bribe!
Keep electing Democrats, we can be just like Brazil!
There appear to be vast pockets of bad culture deposited all over the world. Why can't we hire cultural anthropologists to fix all of this bad culture?

Easy enough to really get robbed or worse in Rio, and these two idiots were playing games. Gold medal not enough attention for you?
Idiots.
"Police in Brazil arrived at the Olympic Village on Wednesday to seize the passports of Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen, pictured top left, in an attempt to keep them in the country for further questioning about the robbery they claim occurred early Sunday. A judge gave authorities the go ahead after doubts began to grow over the claims made by the swimmers in light of the surveillance video obtained by DailyMail.com earlier this week, left, showing the group laughing and smiling as they returned to the Olympic Village. The athletes are now accused of lying about the incident, after the publication of the video Tuesday led investigators to change their line of inquiry."
