Watch That First Step
- A 17-year-old boy suspected in a west suburban carjacking jumped to his death from an Eisenhower Expressway overpass while trying to run away from authorities Friday night, according to Illinois State Police.
About 8:15 p.m., state troopers joined Hillside police in a chase on Interstate 290 after four people stole a vehicle at gunpoint earlier in the day.
The vehicle stopped on the overpass at Harlem and the four suspects got out, police said. One jumped down to the expressway and died.
The teen was identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Tyrece Coleman of the 7400 block of South St. Lawrence in Chicago.
Another aspiring astronaut and heart surgeon cut down just as he was turning it all around. We heard that car would have put him through grad school.

I have a creepy habit of looking up dead offenders on Facebook. Then I bounce around their list of friends. The pics they post, the conversations they have, the lifestyle... I just don't get it. How can anyone say they have a plan to fix it? It would take generations to undo.

I thought that chases either car or foot were disallowed. The involved officers should have some very serious explaining to do. As a result another valuable young life was lost.

we will be held responsible no matter what. Related to this can someone please tell me. When we try to stop someone in a car and they make a conscious decision to flee and they crash into someone. How are we liable for damages when we have not crashed into any thing. Does the city pay because they are in bed with the lawyers who have made suing the police a cottage industry.
IDOT, Hillside PD, State Police, Oak Park PD, Designer of the bridge and Chicago PD (for good measure) will all be sued by the loving family

Yes! Years ago hubby was involved in a lawsuit, the lawyer finally realized that the dirtbag was lying and actually had no case. He still managed to get the City to admit some wrong doing and award the dirtbag $1.00. In doing so the lawyers fees were then also covered by the City.

OT Can anyone explain to me the ass backward policy of detectives calling in gun cases ? WTF haven't done anything in awhile but am going to court for sum gun cases and the state doesn't even notify the detectives for the case .
I had a city lawyer tell me several years ago that the reason the city settles with these people is because if the city went to court, looking at the racial make up of the jury, it would be stacked against the city and the city would lose big time.
I wonder what the fuck Tyreece thought when he bailed out of the car and jumped over the guard rail? But as someone above said, I do not like the fact that these shit heads are leaving the city.
