Can anyone confirm the "lack of brain" trust at HQ has called back the banished one?

ALL overtime being paid for by Major League Baseball. They advanced a check to the city.
Second, DC EC of special functions told to sit this one out. The job is over his head. DC SG was asked to come back to special functions so the job would be done correctly. SG is the only guy who has the knowledge and experience to get the job done. Even Eddie knows he can't count on his Noble buddies. They are simply in over their heads. That is why 35th Street is so messed up right now. All the entitled friends of Eddie feel they don't have to do any work because they are "Friends with the Supe." This is the truth and a very sad reflection of the Department.
The correct move? Because everything we've seen on paper so far doesn't instill us with any sort of confidence int he Command Staff.

of running the district during a Bud Billiken parade several years ago, under Cline I think. Green had been lateraled
elsewhere, but had been commander of 002 for some time, so he had experience that the incoming commander
lacked regarding the annual parade. It has happened before during other pubic events, just not with as much fanfare
as it is receiving here.

I wouldn't know. I'm retired and make great tailgate food at home for friends and we have a wonderful time and don't get searched on the way in.

But, considering the lack of any preparedness by any exempt before calling him back, I don't know if even SG can fix the mess in time. At least the SUP realized he needed to get help. But, it's really sad that SG is used like a mop to clean up messes. How is he not promoted?

Leroy Martin made the same mistakes at the start of his Superintendency. He promoted Ed Brooks and Wodnicki and allowed Elgia Cook to remain in place. Never before have so many been handed so much with so little reason. 35th Street is one giant mess. SCC you hit the nail right on the head.
Not only are they over promoted, but they are clueless as to how to proceed. They are arrogant and expect other to do the work that has always been done for them. Now they have no experience to do the job they are being paid for and cannot do it even if they tried.
The command staff is an embarrassment nationally. Our Federal partners are shaking their heads. This all falls at Rahm's feet. He promoted based only on his voting block, not talent or hard work. The worst thing that may happen at Wrigley is a slap fight or drunks spilling onto Clark street too soon. There is, however, the possibility that since it is the most visible thing happening in the country this fall ........ and then, there are our friends from the Red Line. Apparently no one thought of that at 35th Street.
That Rahm, is where embarrassing meets deadly. You are the biggest weasel of a Mayor any city has ever had. That was a pretty high bar, too.
That is the current state of law enforcement. Promotions are given to those they like and are yes men, not o the most qualified who know how to do the job theoretically way. It is very sad for law enforcement and for those coming up in this profession. The young guys will be trained by incompetent yes men, that really do not have much to contribute. Georgas was brought back to "advise" the planning brain trust of Carter, Bey and Cesario. Most of the planning is being done by Bey and Cesario; Carter is just handling the Special Functions Units and the ballpark. The problem is no one at the top assigned a planning committee to undertake this and they didn't preplan at all. At all. In the past, as soon as the Cubs hit the NLCS they would have started planning for the WS. When did they? The day after the NLCS win. That's why it's all fucked up.
How are we to trust that Special Ed and his gang of gold stars are going to come up with a solution to protect this city from the every day killings, muggings and raping of the citizens some of which actually pay taxes? What exactly are we paying these illiterate buffoons for?

You can say what you want about Georgas, he is undoubtedly the best man to put these major incident plans together. Carter or Eddie Johnson couldn't make a tray of ice cubes. I thought they started a process where you had to apply and interview for these spots..I guess that's only for the people that don't have a chance in making it. Deputy Chief Eric Carter is a Marine Sergeant and deployed troops in active duty and didn't loose one, my father worked with him. Street level deployment is not any match for his proven expertise. Steve Georgas is assigned to OEMC not Cubs park, I'm here now. Deputy Chief Carter is in charge. Georgas came back to give a hand because Negode is on vacation. Negode also had the last game fiasco and refused to listen to us. We've been doing deployments for years. He also refused to listen to Carter, Georgas and the First Deputy when they tried to advise him. Deputy Chief Ryan would have been assigned to assist him but they hate each other.
Tbese are facts, what that poster posted is BS. Not that I like any of the above, but right is right.
That someone in Mass transit was Lt. Clark Schroeder. He was responsible for planning most major events downtown including Taste, 3rd of July fireworks,Blackhawks Stanley Cup,White Sox world series, Chicago Marathon and on and on. He did it near flawlessly and never bragged or looked for recognition. He was ''old school''. Just did his job. I was there for it and worked for him. He was solid as they come.

Eric Carter nor his wife is worried about the IG's investigation. EC is the only black boss on this job without a scandal attached to his name. If you knew them you would know that his wife scored at the top of her class for the Sergeant and Detective class, long before they even met. Also, their kids are at top schools in the world and brilliant just like their parents. You are just mad because she out scored you! And if she had any parts of the answers to that test she would have been promoted a long time ago. But the most important part of this post is she does not even want to be a lieutenant. He meaning her husband has been trying to get her to stay on the police department. She is leaving to travel the world with her kids and could care less about you, NOBLE, what's said on the blog or by any officer about her or her family.
Signed Area Central Detective who personally knows them and is a Detective today because she took time off of her personal schedule to hold a study group in the roll call room in 007 back in 2000. She also took the time to show me how to study and not just what to study. My kids can thank their private school tuition on my D2A.

Captain Sappanos wasn't as revered as you think. He was a one way guy who usually worked about 4 hours a night. He thought he was so heavy that he could do what ever he wanted. He butted heads with SG and Jim Keating and lost. He was transferred to 025 and went on the medical immediately like the true professional he was. He was all for Sappanos.

Georgas has been running major events for the city for the last 10 plus years. He has just as many failures as he has had accomplishments, that comes with the territory. Carter has it now and would be a fool to reinvent the wheel when some things have been proven to work and some things weren't That's just good common sense.

To the poster regarding the ousting of a Captain in 018: I agree he is a great guy and most loved him. With that said, he was everyone's friend therefore many P.O.'s stood around the station all night blowing off every job with no repercussions. Lock-up would take an hour to take your prisoner, then bitch about it because you interrupted movie or PlayStation time. You can hold this against SG but sometimes enough bullshit is enough. Everyone here bitches about competent bosses then simultaneously complains when one does the right and fair thing to benefit all the troops. It's not like he bounced him the minute he came to 018. If you want to assign blame, blame the non-contributers of the midnight crew back then. I'm sure the workers of first watch were fed up with doing everything as well.

That's sums up SG. A phenomenal, true CPD Captain bounced by SG.
Captain Sapponos was revered in Near North by every male/female and everything in between. SG bounced him with post 30 years otj! The ego on another member of "Police Royalty" was the genesis of morale going to shit in retrospect for a lot of then Near North Coppers.
Silver spoon in his mouth from the day he broke the plane of the Academy. In retrospect, how many people over just recent history knew they'd be in white as soon as possible? 3 years patrol in a slow district, straight to The D-Unit, 2 years and they move to white, after this climbing never stops.

Tom Sappanos was a nice guy because he never did anything. He showed up in his Hawaiian shirt for four hours a night. It's easy to be a "nice guy" when you don't run the ship. Running the ship correctly doesn't always endear yourself to everyone.
That routine is dangerous for everyone when discipline is non-existent. It eventually catches up with you. It caught up to Tom. I was there.
That someone in Mass transit was Lt. Clark Schroeder. He was responsible for planning most major events downtown including Taste, 3rd of July fireworks,Blackhawks Stanley Cup,White Sox world series, Chicago Marathon and on and on. He did it near flawlessly and never bragged or looked for recognition. He was ''old school''. Just did his job. I was there for it and worked for him. He was solid as they come.

What era was this??? All of these events over the last 3 decades were ran by the following people; Known as car 49,Frank Radtke, Matt Tobias and Steve Georgas. Your Lt, may have directed you guys but he was not at the command post during that time period. All of these large scale events are planned and ran by the deputy chief of operational services/special functions.I worked for all of these Bosses and I was there to see the plans being put together and the mission being carried out. The HBT/SWAT coordinator also played a large role in assisting car 49 in the planning and carrying out the mission

Regarding DC Carter, first you said he was racist then you found out he is half white, then you said he uses military as his claim to fame, which if you knew him, you would know that he never talks about his military past due to his clearance, then you said he didn't know deployment strategies, but his reality is he is a Marine Sergeant so guess what, some people wayyy more qualified than you made a unanimous decision to promote him there to. FOH You either were put in your place or removed from your clout heavy spot because no matter what anyone says about him, he is going to do his job and make damn sure that you do yours no matter who you are affiliated with. This department is screwed up now because most bosses refuse to make any decision that goes against the norm.
Lt. Muhammad wouldn't waste his time responding to a post and I'm pretty sure that he would know how to spell his own name if he posting anything relating to him. At the end of the day he will still be a Lieutenant, he will still be a Homicide Lieutenant and he will still be one of the most competent bosses on this job. I'd suggest you go talk to someone if you are having this hard of a time dealing with his success.

Georges runs the funerals for our fallen. I've been in the meetings. Huge undertaking that goes without any glitches. Got to give him props for that.
SC is a great guy but the funeral plans were made and tested by other bosses before SC took over, they deserve their kudos. not SC in this case.

Georgas has experience running these events, I'll give him that. But he was a priveledged hack too. They did the right thing bringing them in on this because Johnson is flooding us with merit hacks that can't pass a test because they were in priveledged units that didn't require real police work. Sergeants and Lieutenants that pass the test will retire as DSS and WOL.
One is not successful when they are connected and handed promotions. Lot of guys with no integrity. Everyone should have equal access to promotions. 3 and 4 time merit promotion is called discrimination and corruption.
