- Hundreds of teens who converged Monday night on Hyde Park may have thought they were having a night of Halloween fun, but Chicago Police want parents of the kids involved to pay for their overtime.
“I called the police, because it was a huge group leaning on the door. Someone started throwing eggs,” said Tiffany Page, Hyde Park business owner. “They hit the car. Hit the passenger.”
Tiffany Page was among the scores of business owners who called police when nearly 500 teens converged Saturday night and again on Halloween (Monday) on 53rd street, CBS 2 [...] reports.
Some of the teens destroyed property and police were forced to drive on the sidewalk to control the crowd.
Students from Kenwood, a school nearby, said the incident was fueled by social media.
“Kids being kids,” said teens from Kenwood. “It was mainly freshman and sophomores, not us.”
They said some students came from Lane Tech, Morgan Park, the Agricultural School, and Lindbloom.
...getting parents to cover costs is a new initiative by police. The price to parents could easily top $500.
$500 and a foot-in-the-ass would prevent a lot of police involvement later on.

ALL of those "kids" should have been taken and processed - getting ALL their names, information and given a "clean-up" job of 20 or 40 hours.
ALL would have to report and put in time cleaning up the neighborhoods. If not, they could go to jail - which would NOT be a good idea because that would cost us money. Instead, maybe some of their family's "entitlements" (read in plain English - HANDOUTS) could be taken and spent on some other "civic" clean-up project.
I could hear the howling, "We ain't going to work for free!"
AND that's where "Education" would begin - You aren't "working for Free" - you damaged other people's property, so now you have to pay for it.
You PAY consequences for bad actions. A LESSON LEARNED.
Maybe this type of "new Education" will happen if the right person gets in on Election Day.
Everyone involved gets a bill... Either get cash, or deduct it from their Link card accounts... Once these fools have skin in the game, this crap will come to a rapid end.

Unfortunately, most of the parents won't pay or state that they are unable to pay.
Do the parents SSI for the 15 th generation cover this issue of fines ? Yea, the parents will cry like a trapped rat and cry the establishment is picking on their thug kids. There is nothing the city will get back from these mutts kin. Maybe the city will build another gym for them as a penalty.
It does appear that many of the left wingers are seeing the errors of social programs that breed more give away.

Way back when the Old 15th (pre 25th District) still had a sizeable white population we chased kids who would throw eggs at cars and buildings.
Sometimes we caught them, with eggs in their pockets.

One mom came into the station with her son trying to avenge this screaming about how she had to clean up the mess in his pants.
A old school boss with some gray-haired wisdom told her off in no uncertain terms. She should take her son into the basement and make him clean up the mess in his pants and maybe the egg stains on the cars and garages in the neighborhood.

I just burst out laughing at the thought the City thinks the parents of these kids would pay for any damage.
They only way the parents would pay is if the City and Feds gave them the money to pay. Even with that the parents would steal the money and still stiff the City and business owners. The City and Feds have created the "Gimme Dat" culture of the Chicago ghetto.
Maybe cut off the parents' LINK CARDS for the rest of 2017

Toni Preckwinkle has stated way too many children have been locked up by the police when instead they should be stopped and told in a very firm voice that they are misbehaving and they should behave.
Kwame Raoul then chimes in to Preckwinkle's statement that when the police stop the children they must complete the three page formset to ensure that they were not the victim of racial profiling or his buddies at the ACLU will be concerned.
Leslie Hairston is concerned that IPRA was not called out to observe.
