One of the officers then shot the attacker, fatally wounding him, [...]. The male, whose age was not known, was later pronounced dead.
No word yet on protests because you know that:
- the police shouldn't have intervened in a private dispute,
- they was just funnin',
- he didn't have no gun,
- they planted that gun (and the bullet in the other guy's intestines),

I've got a really great idea and I don't know why you guys haven't thought of it. It's what we do up here in Maine, you make guns legal (any law abiding adult can open or concealed carry with no special permission slips) and make murdering people illegal!
It's pure genius, instead of banning guns you cut out the middleman as it were, and ban violent crimes. Up here with a population of about a million people we keep it down to single digit gun related homicides per year and even with hunting accidents we have less people shot in a year than you guys do on a slow Friday night.

OT: The FOP election is starting in a few months. Keep in mind what has happened in the last six years.
1. Mike Shields was elected with minimal qualifications. He was stuck with many incumbents who hated him. They were willing to let you lose a year’s retro in order to make him a one term president. Thus no letter was sent. Dougherty and Aguilar both told the other field rep’s to mind their own business.
2. The puppet master behind the scenes on all of this was Mark Donahue. He had his partner Ted Street, then the state FOP president, suspend Mike Shields with pay. Bill Dougherty became acting president and removed Shields from office with less than a 2/3rds vote. The state president used Kevin Graham as his lackey to try to take Shields off the stage during a meeting.
3. The state paid Shields a six figure settlement. The state president has been thrown out of the FOP. I got that from a suburban copper and verified that. Chicago FOP paid Shields a small amount of money as ordered by the judge, but paid maybe 200k or more in legal fees thanks to the hold overs from the City-Wide crew.
4. Mark Donahue, Ted Street, Bill Dougherty, and Rich Aguilar all endorsed Obama. Bill Dougherty also said in a lengthy news paper article, intended to get him elected, that he thought Obamacare was a good option for retirees.
Question#1 The state president was banned from the FOP. Why are Dougherty, Aguilar, Graham, Donahue, Davis, and DiMaria still in the FOP? Look at how much they were willing to screw us to stay in office or are we wrong in that assumption?
Question#2 The grievance on old CR#’s sat in Aguilar’s office for six years and he did nothing. This group took it to court and would have won except for the timing of the release of the McDonald shooting. Why is Aguliar the laziest man ever to work at FOP, that includes Capparelli, allowed to ever step foot in FOP again? How do you like your CR#’s FOIA’d. Should we call Aguilar out on it?

Since I'm a glass half full person, I'm guessing he knows Ari from his TV days and called him to tell him to tell his little runt brother to quit with the bullshit sanctuary city news conferences or he'll bring the full weight of the Justice Department down on his head right after he pulls of federal funding for the city.
The sad part is a few years ago there would've been officers willing to be out there doing street stops on people like this that would prevent such an incident. But now now we are reactive instead of proactive. And this is the result. Don't blame the officers out there one bit. Glad the officers are not injured and bad guy is dispatched.
