"Reforms" to Continue
- Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Tuesday vowed to press ahead with reforms at the Chicago Police Department whether or not President-elect Donald Trump agrees with the results of an ongoing Justice Department probe spurred by the Laquan McDonald shooting.
Responding to questions about whether the department needs to have in place a federal consent decree laying out new department training and use of force rules before Trump takes office in January, the mayor said "our commitment to reform will not change with the administration."
Of course, if the President-elect does something drastic, like cutting funding to the DOJ, including the on-going and continuous costs and grant money necessary to keeping such a close eye on the police, well then, Rahm is going to have to face the unpleasant prospect of raising taxes ... again.
Which of course leads to the "death spiral" effect, where it's too expensive to live in Chicago, so taxpayers and businesses move out, leading to a shrinking tax base, leading to higher taxes once again to sustain the "gib me dat" crowd, leading to more people leaving, etc etc.

Dude, Chicago is in the Death Spiral already.
The question is can you pull out if you take radical actions?
Not a cop, but I hope Trump and Sessions direct the DOJ to look at the Chicago PD brass. You cannot fix the CPD until you fix the (lack of) leadership.
A "very reliable source" says an African American" police officer who works in the "hiring department" has just realized he has stepped on his dick. Individual layed out to the wrong person how they are discriminating against certain males from a certain neighborhood. A little lesson boys and girls---assume everything is being recorded. This guy lays it all out and mentions names of others in the conspiracy. Stay tuned.
then our commitment to not doing shit, and therefore 700-800 homicides a year,, will not change either..
Fuck your Rahm.
Reform this!
Sessions can easily go after the CPD brass. Easy targets.
By "wrong person" do you mean another African American officer who is a stand up officer and did the right thing by his brothers and sisters in blue?
The first two posters have it right in my point of view. If I were the democrats controlling the city, county and state governments I would be watching the exodus of population from their control which is a rejection of their leadership. Yesterday it was announced housing sales are down 6% in Chicago which would seem to bolster the comments of the first poster. Simply, too many things suck in Illinios which is why each person leaving has a better place to go.
Secondly, it has long been said that the public corruption squad at FBI Chicago is among the most staffed in the Bureau but we really do not see any results in an area where corrupt government seems to rule the day. Rahm is not reforming anything. He is doing a little magic dance with smoke and mirrors. He is inept and incompetent.
He announced the other day he will introduce an ordinance to be voted on by the 50 thieves that no Chicago Pension funds will be invested in any company that is involved in building Trumps imaginary wall. He is an idiot, he has a fiduciary to invest the money where it will be exposed to the least risk and return the most on investments. His inability to understand his responsibilites reveals his lack of competence.
I really hope President Trump puts this little asshole and his ilk in place!
Man I really hate this fucker Rahm!
Oh by the way, did I say FUCK YOU, Rahm!
Da Pelon
Hey Rahm reform this, you fucking tool!
When is Rahm up for re-election?
Rahm needs to be shown the door like his hero Hillary Clinton [good riddance]!
I reformed myself cocksuckers.
Pay my fuckin insurance and I'll leave
Sancturary status could cost the city a cool 1 billion a year in lost federal funds.
Enjoy, signed
America.
Rotten Rahm keeps upping the ante on police reforms.
How many actual excessive force incidents were sustained this year?
How many Murders and Shooting incidents were bonefide this year?
How many excessive force complaints were filed against persons involved in criminal activity?
Over 700 Murders and 4,000 shooting and Rahm Emanuel is berating the police.
Class act, second to oBama-Lynch.
Shouldn't Rahm the his 50 Turds be calling for Community Culture Reform?
Let's see how the GreatAgain.gov reacts to Rahm's Sanctuary City.
Hopefully you guys out there on the frontline are getting the obvious message from your mayor on policing, on hiring, on promoting and on criminal prosecution.
Stay Fetal - the murder numbers reflect the failure of Democrats Rahm Emanuel and Thorny PrickWrinkle.
There are 2 groups of people left in Shitcago. Those who provide for those who refuse to work. Remember Margaret Thatchers words, "the only problem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people's money"
Out of this shit-hole city and state when I retire. Texas here I come baby.
