So the "Trump Effect" didn't last all weekend. Even the Tribune was howling about the numbers:
- Five people were killed and at least 32 others were wounded in shootings in Chicago from Friday afternoon to early Monday, a weekend when city, state, county and federal police agencies conducted “targeted enforcement missions” to combat violence on the South and West sides.
The toll was down from the more than 50 people shot each of the last two weekends. But the number was still twice as bad as the same weekend last year when just 18 people were shot, one of them fatally.
The weekend last year actually touched the freezing mark. And no one seems knows exactly how many homicides there are:
- With more than 675 homicides recorded so far this year, Chicago could easily surpass 700 homicides before the end of the year for the first time since 1998, according to data kept by the Tribune.
The Department has the homicide count around 660+ and HeyJackass has Chicago at 690.
But this "Targeted Enforcement Mission." Someone posted that the Tact teams, Saturation teams, and other teams from Area North put on uniforms, lined up 50 or 60 squad cars and drove to all the "hot spots," lights and sirens blaring, ruining the television watching for the evening.That seems to be a slight exaggeration:

- Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said the department deployed an additional "several hundred" uniformed officers as well as officers from the Cook County Sheriff's Department, Illinois State Police and FBI to three city districts: Gresham on the South Side, and the Ogden and Austin districts on the West Side.
Forty-four people were arrested in the targeted zones, including 16 felony arrests and one homicide suspect. Officers also recovered 12 weapons during the mission's 30-hour window, Johnson said at a news conference Monday afternoon.
Too bad we don't have a dedicated city-wide team that could do this all the time....like SOS. Or TRU. Or MSF.

There was a time when things like this would work. Nowadays, what with the body cameras, in car cameras, ISR's, why bother. And I just know coppers are still out there doing it the way it was done before, you know, jumping out of the car, going through all the bangers on the corner, telling them to get lost, etc. Completely against the new "rules" and just not worth it.
Oh yes. go arrest people, the department has your back! Uh, damn, I don't believe you. Your policies caused this and only changing your policies will change it back, plus years of showing us you really do have our backs.
Rahm doesnt want Chicago to be mentioned on TV every night .. You would think Rahm could grasp the fact that his constituents are the reason that Trump was elected.

There's a video of one of those "targeted enforcement missions"(not a cop here) at Madison and central on facebook. Maybe a half dozen (plus maybe 4) unmarked SUVs driving through the intersection. Ironically, everyone in the comments was talking about the murder that happened at a gas station near there a short while later.
Wow! Twelve weapons. How many were held by felons? Six, Ten or twelve?
Now for the important part. How many of the felons will actually be sent to prison for five years or more?
My guess is Zero, Nil, Nada, None, or maybe even less.

If "blm" was really about saving lives they would have realized long ago that it is not the police killing black people. They were used by George Soros and Hillary for their ends.

When Obama sends planeloads of cash to Iran to release hostages and then buys uranium from Russia. Uranium that belonged United States but S.O.S. Hillary approved the sale to Russia. Iran also used the cash to buy Russian anti-aircraft missiles and tanks. Look that up on the internet.
Two other things that I fear that BHO will do as he leaves the wreckage of the office behind him. One is that he will write total blanket pardons for the Clinton Crime Syndicate and order all the records destroyed. The other is that he orders that all the terrorists in Guantanamo and other places be released back into the terror network. There I would hope that some military commanders will still have some backbone and tell him GFY> HELL NO!

I really don't care about these missions making arrests or recovering guns. Those days are done These types of teams are not what they use to be given the fact cameras will be attached to most of us soon. Patrol needs to be increased. At least guys and girls won't be running from job to job and we can get more than 5 people off a day. But that won't happen will it ? The so called "backbone" of this department gets treated like shit by bosses (not Sgts or certain LT's. But the higher ups).

The appointment of Steve Bannon of Breitbart news as a key Trump advisor is good news for cops. Breitbart is a conservative, pro-police news service that has run several exposes on the Black Lives Matter movement, showing its similarities to the Black Panther Party, and labeling it as a domestic terrorist group. BLM can still hold marches and block traffic, but as far as influencing national social justice policies, they are headed to the sewer, where they belong.

We do have the elite saturation unit. You the unit of officers with approximately 2-4 years on the job. Plain clothes on our friday unit. 5 officers on a TVB arrest of an old man unit. Hahahah. Just messin'. But yea that unit is a joke.
The only other option for the city is to use the National Guard to deploy in the targeted areas. Even with the huge increase in law enforcement, violent crime continued at a high rate. I wonder if other agencies had to complete ISR's for every street contact and traffic stop? In the meantime, Sheriff dart is proud to say the population of the jail is below 8,000. Violent crime is at a record pace yest the jail population is very low? Maybe arrests are at a all time low?

What had me laughing my ass off during this Mission, in 015, was the number of cars that took off on us, with "Don't chase, terminate" getting yelled out within 20 seconds. "Let it go, Let it go..." was the chant of the day.
One car took off on them three diferent times, within about an hour. Kept runing through 015, then made a B-line for 290 at the first sign of a blue light.
The gig is up, brothers. They are well aware we can't chase them. The thugs know, the lawyers know, and the media knows.

You can expect the departmant to put out a bid for an MSF or TRU type unit within the next few months, probably looking for about 60 to 90 high-speed officers. 10 hour days, choice of furlough, both uniform and plain clothes, officer's choice. Units will deploy fromm the Belmont/Western, and the old 7 (which will get computers, and a lock-up staff). Merit promoted supervisors will not be elligable for this assignment.
The primary purpose of this unit will be to conduct EDGE missions, and saturation of targeted areas, at the squad and platoon level. Officers who have at least 3 years of active service, and acceptable disciplinary history and productive activity are encouraged to apply.

Personell shall notify the office of the superintendent after the completion of 4 periods, and all participatoin officers will be reassigned to the 003 district. If staffing levels are still low in 003 following this initiative, this officer shall discuss the formatoin of a no-bid, no-work unit, out of the public safety building, to hide the current 003 supervisors and ,itigate further damage to the department.

This is just another name for the old E.D.G.E. Missions or Wolf Pack Missions when I worked tact 15 yrs. ago in the hood.... Looking back its just another way to make the EXEMPTS pat themselves on their backs !!!!!
