However, Democrat Marty Moylan may not remember Hot Rod's $500 FOID card proposal. Today though, this anti-gun political hack has his own scheme to dramatically hike the cost of FOID cards to $100 or more.
Back when Rod Blagojevich busied himself introducing all manner of radical gun control schemes, Democrat Marty Moylan worked as an Electrical Union enforcer. His job, among other things, involved getting Electrical Union workers "out of jams". He's also got ties to the Chicago mob, per the "Chicago Clout" blog.
Marty Moylan later became mayor of Des Plaines. Now, the guy "that will tell you anything to get elected" has wormed his way into the Illinois House. Democrat Marty Moylan stands as one of those Progressive Caucus Democrats who hates guns – with a passion. And now, he's sponsored legislation (HB-745) to require a full set of "Live Scan" electronic fingerprints with any application for a FOID card or a renewal. AND he wants to make fingerprints mandatory for concealed carry licenses as well.
Follow the money - who owns, runs, gets contributions from "Live Scan"?

After Marty got his casino he voted against anyone else getting a casino. At the Union meeting they took the boots to his brother because that was a huge lose of work for the trades.
Such a measure will only impact law abiding citizens. I served on a major Illinois city PD and made a good many UUW arrests during my years of service. Never once arrested a mutt with a firearm who had a valid FOID card. I'm sure many of your readers can corroborate this fact. So increasing the price of an FOID card will not in any way affect those who never intend to apply for an FOID card and ignore the law without penalty.
It is well past time to eliminate the unconstitutional FOID program. Paying to exercise a right? Anyway, soon enough we'll have national reciprocity for CCW.
We should take a page out of the democommie/alinski handbook and "demonstrate" at his home and office. Conceal carry a few flaming bags of shit to toss his way.

Abolish the FOID card. It has not fulfilled its intended purpose. The gunslingers in Chicago who have killed and wounded countless citizens do not bother to obtain or renew FOID cards. They ignore the law. Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kentucky, Michigan, and Tennessee don't mandate FOID cards or its something akin to it to own, possess or transport firearms. In fact, residents of those state traveling throughout Illinois do not need a FOID card to legally possess, own, or transport firearms.
Then this PRICK has swung a dealwith the fingerprint veneer who charges 62.00 for electronic prints. I have a CDL with HazMat endorsement and need to get printed every 4 years when I renew my endorsement, it's 86.00 to make sure I'm not a threat to the U S.
Tightening up the FOID procedure? So retro.
North Dakota is racing to become the 14th state to totally drop its FOID, CCW license laws.
Memo to Moylan: crack open a law book someday. Finger prints are already required for a concealed carry permit.

Several years ago, then Governor Blagojevich proposed raising the FOID Card to as high as $500. Blagojevich is vacationing in Colorado these days, but his ideas still linger. Representative Marty Moylan (D-Des Plaines) has proposed HB0745, requiring fingerprinting to obtain or renew a FOID Card. Not only would this cause a hassle for law abiding gun owners, it would also raise the cost of a FOID Card to between $100 and $200. Just for the record, FOID Card holders go through 360 background checks a year, every night, except for New Years, Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you are an ICCL holder, you go through two. That means that Illinois FOID Card holders and ICCL holders go through approximately 864,000,000 background checks a year and that number grows every month. That seems to be plenty, but nothing will ever satisfy the anti-gunners. Wouldn't it be nice if public officials were checked as thoroughly as gun owners? Of course, if anyone were to propose the idea we would hear more caterwauling and screeching than 1000 long tailed cats in a warehouse full of rocking chairs.
Not to be outdone, Rita Mayfield (D-Waukegan) has proposed a 3.75% sales tax on firearms and accessories. To add insult to injury, the money would be used to fund community based groups who would like to take your Second Amendment Rights. The fight is on in Illinois but if you look around, the left wing fascists are on the attack everywhere. When I am asked why someone should join the ISRA, the answer is simple - because it is never over!
It is no secret the U.S. Military is in bad shape. The Navy is as small as it was before WW I, the Army has been reduced to pre-WW II numbers and the Air Force is flying junk. When troops come off a tour of duty, they have to give up gear to the next group that is heading out. There isn't enough equipment for both units. Battle readiness is at a low ebb.
There is a proposal to increase defense spending by 54 billion dollars. There is already whining about that increase, which is only about 10% over last year. In my mind, that is nothing compared to the 800 billion dollars Obama took from Social Security to fund Obamacare. Russia, China and Iran are all on the rise and we are looking at the world like it was the year 1938. If we don't get off our duff, we will get to see the world as it was in December 1941.

Charge folks (or people) money for their 2A rights, but heaven forbid we implement a voter ID. Dem po folks caint afford dat no way no how. Will she install flashing lights & siren to help her exercise fiscal responsibility? She's already mapping her campaign to succeed Jesse White as Secretary of State. Remember her tv ads last November about how hard she would protect state funds?? How many troopers are serving as bodyguards to her royal highness? She's as treacherous as Madigan since she was his minion while a state rep. The "conniving comptroller contessa" will have no shame while screwing the voters who believe her BS.

Fingerprints are OPTIONAL for an IL concealed carry permit, have been since it started.
The only thing they do is possibly speed up the application process, and waste money.
Spend the extra $70 on ammo and range time.
Prints will not stop tommy dart from objecting if he can link your name to any possible offense.
Ummm....some of you need to crack open a law book yourself....
Prints are NOT mandatory for a CCL in IL......
Getting prints done reduced the amount of time the state can take in approving your application...
They are allowed to take up to 90 days to approve with prints...up to 120 if no prints are submitted.....
while they were once getting permits out in under 40 days or so with prints, they're running close to their max time nowadays
Just to correct a couple of commenters... Fingerprints to obtain a conceal carry permit in Illinois are OPTIONAL. Fingerprints are said to speed up the screening process, but they are not required. My permit arrived two weeks ago, after 103 days (no fingerprints submitted), plus another 9 days in the mail.
Moylan, is sticking his nose into the 41st Ward political scene. He is supporting the clown Tim Heneghan in the upcoming Aldermanic race against ex CPD CFD Anthony Napolitano. Good luck Moylan, stay in Des Plaines you liberal prick, Heneghan will be blown out of the water by Naps.
By the way Mike McAuliffe R is Edison Parks State Rep. He will be supporting and endorsing Napolitano.
