- Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has a wish list to fight crime in Chicago. And deciphering the scourge side of social media is on the list.
Sneed is told Foxx sent the list via a letter to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions late last week in hopes of snagging Trump regime resources to combat the violence crippling “the Chicago region.”
Calling out “a city plagued by the worst gun violence in 20 years and two of the city’s police districts,” Foxx cited the Trump administration’s interest in prioritizing efforts to address violent crime, outlined key funding areas to keep “our communities safe,” and singled out the explosive growth of social media “and its role in crime” by requesting tech support and social media analysts.
She underscored the need for greater tools to combat crimes committed on social media by citing the recent case of an 18-year-old disabled man and the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl that were streamed on Facebook Live.

You know what stops crime? Access to victims...as in "criminals behind bars" and not out on bail or missing from Electronic Monitoring (like the 500 people Dart doesn't have tabs on). Sessions ought to tell her to try keeping criminals behind bars and see if crime drops.

I'm a senior citizen who lives here my whole life, and it pains me to see what these ass-hole demorats have done to this city. I work for a railroad that extends into the west loop. I have found two electronic monitor devices near the tracks this year alone. When I tried to call the county, I was asked to either discard it or mail it to an address at 26th and California. So I'm guessing it's no big deal for anyone in the program to remove the device.

Before our federal government gives another cent to this city, county, or state, they need to correct a few problems. Since this topic is Kim Foxx and the States Attorneys Office, let's take a look. I would say your prosecutors need to prosecute (hence the title). Law Enforcement is sick of excuses and searching for reasons not to prosecute. Example, you have 2 witnesses and a complainant who know the offender, by sight and name, why do I need to round up people to do a line up to pick the offender out? Is it to make LEs job more difficult, or is it to make it easier for you to lock in a prosecution with little or no work? Or do you hope that the hours it takes to get this done will frustrate the complainant and witnesses to the point that they just say forget it? Then you have to do nothing. Let's not even start talks of the photo line-up, that we are still trying to wrap our head around how lawmakers came up with that nonsense.
Stop relying on plea agreements. Your a prosecuter, prosecute the case. Put on witnesses, evidence, and cross examine. That's a prosecuter job. Giving people who harm or violate other people or peoples rights supervision, counseling, "intense" probation is a joke. You do the crime and get caught, you do the time.
Speaking of time, when you are sentenced to 4,6,or 10 years, there is no reason you should be out in less then half. Get some truth in sentencing laws, lobby for it ( I know it goes against your parties promise to stop locking up poor Black and Brown people ) stop reducing crimes that should carry 6-10, to a lesser charge that carries up to 1 year (as described in the above paragraph).
This will be a good start to see if crimes drop at all. I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

Just wondering, might she be citing those cases, but actually looking for tech support b/c it can help them more efficiently develop lines of evidence?
I've used social media to gather evidence in a v. different sort of felony case recently - related to residency fraud in a certain context. It's only supporting evidence, but it adds to the picture if I can show that so-and-so keeps tweeting from Hammond IN while he says he lives in IL.
