Robbery = Probation?

  • Participation in two armed robberies of women in Lakeview has earned 20-year-old Jwan Farley a cakewalk sentence: Two years probation and a curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Armed robbery.,,,and then these two:
  • Meanwhile, two men accused of trying to rob three Uptown roommates in River North on October 17 have also pleaded guilty. And they’ve also been sentenced to two years probation.

23-year-old DeAngelo Dixon and 21-year-old Leandrew Wallace were arrested when their would-be victims flagged down a passing police car in the middle of the robbery attempt outside of a multi-million-dollar mansion in the 800 block of North Dearborn, police said.
Three robbery offenders, one armed, two strong armed, and not a lick of prison between them all.

Remember, once the police are under control, everything else will be rainbows and unicorns.

I guess you have to kill someone to get prison time. Even then one doesn't serve the entire sentence in Illinois. City of Chicago, County of Cook, State of Illinois, a great place to be a criminal.

2 years intense probation. It's intense for them to report and have a curfew they never follow. This actually happened to a coppers family. Daughter was car jacked, gun pointed at the cops child and told to get out. The offender (a juvenile) was eventually apprehended and charged. Offender had prior robbery charges in his history. Judge and ASA somehow determined, against the PO's wishes that 2 years intense probation was sufficient. We wonder what is wrong with society? Accountability is the word of the day boys and girls.

If the courts cannot punish a offender who took the time to find, chase and rob a person in a very nice neighborhood, then why make the arrests? Probation means nothing in cook county. And a curfew? WTF does a curfew do to a offender who commits a strong armed robbery? What was the judge thinking?

In another life I was a Robbery Detective when there was a Robbery Section in the Chicago Police Department. You went to Robbery because you wanted to hunt violent criminals both armed and not. You were the Task Force of the Detective Division. Homicide Detectives thought we were crazy chasing Armed Robbers, and they took most of the glory during that time period because of the media coverage and the like. Robbery Detectives were trained in heavy weapons and every Area Robbery Unit had the weapons in a locker. You did stake-outs, waiting to ambush a Robber(s) during an on view robbery, with instructions to take no prisoners. When they changed Homicide and Robbery to Violent Crimes they really fuck up. A Robbery Detective wants to go after the sick-up man before he commits a murder and enjoys the hunt of this predator. Believe me, the Robbery Offender is one of the most dangerous criminals because he's already made the decision to hurt or kill the victim. The Homicide Detective is more of an Investigator and not a hunter like the Robbery Types. When they made the change to Violent Crimes, the department lost an asset in fighting robbery type crimes. Let me just say I'm not the only one pointing this out at the time they made the switch. So, for these present Armed and Strong Armed Robbers only getting probation is a puzzle to me. They should have received a minimum of two years with five years felony probation.

Regular civilian here and it is easy to see what is going on.

It is in the financial interests of the elected leaders of our criminal justice system to hand out light sentences to get career criminals back on the streets ASAP so that they will re-offend and keep the system juiced with cash.

High recidivism means the need for more judges, clerks, parole officers and all the related legal system patronage jobs. High recidivism means the need for a bigger State's Attorney's office with more and more patronage jobs.

Our judges, state's attorneys, and public defenders all work to keep sentence low in order to keep crime high so the money keeps flowing to them and their ilk.

And us law abiding, regular tax paying, non-gov't job holding citizens get to pay the price twice over through paying constantly more and more in taxes and then paying the street tax collected at gun point by all the jamaal's and la'jawandeangeloantwoines out there.

(OT) yet again let's attack the Chicago Police Department sensationalizing another bullshit story that I diss honest media in this town has to be the worst reporting in the nation.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-chicago-police-shooting-christian-green-met-20170404-story.html

Pay attention especially you young Chicago police officers do not ever listen to that go get them bosses as you can clearly see here superintendent Eddie Johnson signed off on this as a good shoot. The same thing with Jason they signed off knowing it was done properly but yet some bottom feeding lawyer connected somehow will try to place the blame on the police officers it is over staying fetal will cause you to keep your career keep your family and will keep you out of prison. If you're a working police officer tough guy tough girl and want to be the "police" and show them who's boss you will find yourself in court your blood pressure will rise your health will deteriorate your family will be decimated they will destroy your good name the media so dishonestly will destroy your family and everything you have worked for.

Look around take a good look at the nonworking police officers the ones that you were call dog asses those officers myself included will retire with a good pension good health and enjoy our family as opposed to the working police and we see how well that works out do not ever listen to the exempt ranks The clown show there are clouded individuals only there to draw a big pension they have no clue they cannot organize our Girl Scout troop or even a group of girls selling cookies. The only thing counts and this job is backing each other up the only color that matters is blue we take care of each other we take care of each other's families other than that The elected Democratic structure in this city is the cause the root of all the evil the root of all the carnage place at all we're at belongs at their doorstep's

A little off topic, but I read a story some years ago about the New York Stake-Out Robbery Teams. They looked for coopers who were deer hunters for their teams. Also, the weapons they used on stake-outs were the 38cal service revolver of the time, and department shotguns. The officers were trained extensively with the mentioned weapons. The officers had to demonstrate being able to shoot with both hands and the shotgun was loaded with Slugs only. The story mentioned deer hunters demonstrate patience in stake-outs which would sometimes be hours of inactivity. In the CPD we don't even have a dedicated Robbery Unit let along a stake-out team. What a different time, informants, robbery teams, stake-outs and just being the police. I definitely was born at the wrong time.
