Summer Wilding Season
This story came and went pretty quickly...almost like Channel 7 didn't want to broadcast it too much:
- A man says he was attacked by a group of teen while walking near Chicago's iconic Buckingham Fountain, resulting in fractures to his face.
The attack left Jay Parsons with a facial fracture and injuries to his hand. He's still trying to make sense of it all 24 hours later.
"I'm still pretty shocked. You go to these busy areas, tourist areas. You don't expect to get hit and then it happens," Parsons said.
Parsons said he was walking on the lakefront path north of Buckingham Fountain around 6:20 p.m. Sunday evening. He said of 10 to 12 high school-age teenager, boys and girls, were walking towards him as a group. One of them peeled off from the pack.
"I heard him say to his friends, 'Hey, I'm going to go swimming now.' And he kind of ran off to the side, and then he must have peeled back, and that's when he hit me," Parsons said.
Neither the victim nor Channel 7 managed to get a description of the attackers. Channel 7 also couldn't be bothered to post any links or photos of the video that numerous passersby managed to record of the attackers. Funny how that happened. In any event, Wilding Season is here and visitors to the city would be well advised to prepare (and arm) themselves accordingly.

Sounds like the 1st District could use a Hunchlab Command Operations Center. Or posibly a Strategic Subject Listing (SSL) satellite office for the deterrence of criminal activities. Brainstorm, identify and then encourage anti violence hot spot mission activity/event numbers with focused violence reduction as the answer to all the horseplay. Or just hire more police to patrol these underserved tourist playgrounds.

People should stop being shocked and start being prepared. If you're in Chicago, particularly in the touristy areas, and you see a group of "teens" like the ones the media refuses to properly describe approaching you, they're not there to enjoy the touristy things. They're not there to go for a walk along the lakefront. They're not there to meet up for a book club. They're damn sure not there to go for a fucking swim. They're there to prey on the unsuspecting victims who still don't get it. They'll attack you just because they want to attack or because they want something you have. They're criminals and savages. They don't care if they stomp you to death over a dollar or a look or nothing at all. People need to start legally arming themselves against these attackers. When they get shot by their intended victim, they might change their ways, or maybe they'll die so they can never attack anyone again.

I forgot which news station I was watching when I saw this story, they failed to mention any race of the offenders, only a group of teens. But then they showed still photos from passerbys showing young black youth running away. In 21 yrs OTJ, this is the worst I've seen this department, zero morale and the worst leadership one can phathom. The city, community, and media have shown quite well that their anti police agenda is alive and well. It's sad that we all have seen many pro police supporters while we are working, telling us the great job we are doing, and probably comment on how the MSM portrays law enforcement in a negative light. I'm not sure if anything can be "fixed", but if this is the new constant, which I believe it is, then EVERY OFFICER should be mindful of what they are doing, because the savages do know what they are doing, and they love this anti police, non civilized, and lawless society that is being created.
Reading the other article about residency, I've been living in my house for 17 years, probably put thousands of dollars into making it nice, just like many other city workers have, and the thought of leaving is a tough one, IF residency was to be challenged. I guess I'm just shaking my head again, 4 years left and a final good riddens on this hell hole of Shitcago!

I've been say this for a long time, and if someone can show me where it states a victim in a crime has to stay on the scene, please show all of us. I have heard people say it's obstruction of justice, and other related offenses. But, your the victim and this is not a vehicle accident, it's an act of self-defense. When and if you are identified, I left the scene because I was in fear from other offender(s), I was in fucken shock, I believed I didn't have to hang around or I had to take a shit. Claim the PTS bullshit or whatever you like. But if the opportunity is there get into the wind.

You are correct. Hope everyone knows what they are doing. "go buy a rod" comments are not helpful. I'd liked to shoot them as much as anyone else but don't think it would end well.
I work in 018,I wont go Downtown unless Im working.
Add some more red light cameras that will keep the tourist safe. While you are at it up the soda tax. Hey lil kimmy let some more non-violent offenders out of jail. It seems the above needs coaching in what to say and what not to say. They beat me and wanted my money asshole. Now its a Strong Armed Robbery. Off-Topic, but wasn't it Rahm Emanuel, when he ran for congress, that had the entire Water Department out ringing doorbells for him, on "company time."
And now, some 16 years after his political career was launched, he continues to beat up on all of the working-class people of this city, the ones who knocked on doors for him? I don't know about you, but me, I cannot let this go on. Rahm Emanuel has got to go as, in his ninny-attempts to stay in office, he has pitted each and every one of us against each other. If it isn't the teachers, it's the police. It seems every time a criminal gets his/her 4X6 in the city, the politicians immediately blame the police and then try to pass new laws, ordinances, or rules prohibiting such future actions regardless if killing the criminal was justified or not.
No pursuits now. No shooting at cars. So criminals run over police and run away in their cars. Isn't pursuing criminals a basic tenet of police work? The city doesn't want law enforcement. How many times have you heard "The police are the problem."?
The city, like most democrat strongholds, doesn't want the citizens to possess firearms. Who enforces the concealed carry laws in the city? When the city leaders have shown they do not want any law enforcement, the first law I'd refuse to enforce is the concealed carry laws. Why not? American citizens still have constitutional rights. The democrats haven't repealed the constitution, yet.
So working, taxpaying citizens will at least have a means to defend themselves when they're confronted by criminals with ill intentions. The police can't be everywhere, and with fewer and fewer police, it gets worse. Let the honest citizen arm themselves so they at least have a chance of protecting themselves or their loved ones. And maybe, like in other places, an armed citizen may be able to assist you, the police, some time. It wouldn't be the first time.

Hey asshole, I don't know who you are, but I'm not going to let a group beat the shit out me and not defend myself. Even using my gun, the hell with progressive towns or whatever. Hey stupid, the group was all black and the guy was white, it looks like this could easily be proved as a hate crime and even not it's a group and they are far game in the circumstances reported.
Legal concealed carry is prohibited in municipal parks thanks to our wise lawmakers. Most tourist from out of state can't lawfully carry anyway since this state doesn't allow it. I says stay away from city parks and the Cook County Forest Preserves. Stay home.
I didn't see this reported on any local 'news' channel.
Downtown must be safe to visit this summer!
Hope these 'innocent wildings' don't close down our lakefronts from another Memorial Day 'Heat Emergency.'
