Laughable. Rahm isn't going to spend a dime on any police reform he isn't required to. Plain and simple.And it looks like Rahm has already neutralized the biggest opposition:
- At City Hall, African-American aldermen who have pushed for police reforms didn't voice much concern over the fact that police reform efforts wouldn't have the force of a federal judge behind them.
Chicago certainly isn't ready for reform....and Rahm's re-election effort move forward.

Chicago doesn't need your typical "feel good" put a monitor in place police reform.
"Why are blacks being stopped at a higher rate than whites?"
"How come you don't have the appropriate percentage of lesbian Jewish Asians in exempt positions?"
Chicago needs a federal judge to appoint a police superintendent who answers only to the federal judge and has complete authority in the department over promotions/assignments etc.
No more dumb as a box of rocks exempts who get their position because of their skills at oral exams or their cousin/brother in law/ etc etc is a politician.
Until then it's the band on the Titanic playing the penultimate song as the lifeboats fill up.
Rahm did the right thing for the wrong reason. Monitor does nothing except cost the city big bucks AND be a big pain in the ass to working cops.
any " reform" will only be in the form of the city saving money by taking away benefits. The corrupt promotional and assignment system will go on and the poor treatment of most police officers will go on and of course, the favored treatment of those with clout will also go on.
When can we expect another vid to be buried and millions paid out to the family to keep their mouths shut in order that Rahm is re-elected?

Thank God for our Mayor. He is one politician that is always looking for ways to save on spending the taxpayers dollar. It is good to have a frugal mayor that cares.

Was it eliminating Merit Promotions to the less than qualified or was it Training provided by less than qualified 5-10 yr wonders.
No Federal money coming from DC for Sanctuary City and State either.
Rahm'sKids First and goofy Rauner won't get his gov'mint money either, so there's two sources of revenue unavailable to payoff strike ready and greedy CPS, that will surely be taken away from any police related expenditures.
No Contract vote, hires, promotions for at least 16 months.

Rahm has meant filth, corruption, obscenity, idiocy and bankruptcy.... He has given the city an international reputation for moronic buffoonery, barbaric crime, triumphant hoodlumism, unchecked graft, and a dejected citizenship. He nearly ruined the property and completely destroyed the pride of the city. He made Chicago a byword for the collapse of American civilization.
