- Could the daughter of one Democratic political powerhouse replace another as Illinois attorney general?
It’ll happen if the City Council’s elder statesman has his way.
Cook County Democratic Chairman Joe Berrios said he got a courtesy call over the weekend from Ald. Edward Burke (14th) to let him know that Burke’s daughter would be circulating nominating petitions to run for attorney general.
Berrios initially identified the daughter as Jennifer Burke. Neither Jennifer Burke nor her father could be reached for comment. They work together at the law firm of Klafter and Burke.
Burle must have seen what a great job Lisa did covering up and failing to investigate all of her dad's crimes, so Burke decided he's gotta get a piece of that covering up his assorted legal missteps as outlined in Cooley's book "When Corruption Was King."

Not a cop but what do we tell our kids in Chicago? Go to school, obtain a degree, keep your reputation clean, background clean, work hard and for what? If you do not have the correct last name or clout, you will never make a decent salary. Burke has two daughters. One is a lawyer in his tax rebate firm. The other used to be a "supervisor" in the city Law Department at 99k, then got a seat at the Pollution Control Board for 117k plus pension. When does this bullshit end? I am not a socialist but what the fuck man. There are other people who can perform these gigs. 100k should be department head level gig with you being in charge of many people. Not one person sending emails from a desk and making 4 trips to Starbucks a day. Will we ever get a proper audit?

The citizens are getting the police department they asked for by electing pandering politicians who will do anything to stay in power, life is obviously cheap to them, massive carnage citywide,and they enjoy wine and cheese laughing like hyenas, while many are maimed, mothers and fathers burying their children as the elected and dishonest media establishment goes after the hard working police officers!
Police work is not television, it is dirty,gritty, stressful work, watch a lion tamer attempting to train a beast while protecting themselves, police work is like that constantly in this city! Police are disparaged, the city and media are giving away millions to criminals and their families and spinning the false narrative "police are bad!"
Saying all that to say this how many criminal gang killing machine enterprises has Lisa went after? How many criminals prosecuted? That office should be used to put away the bad felons but the "community" would oppose that as the narrative would expose what type of people are causing the massive carnage, it is not racism when it is realism correct? Funny how Burke never sued Cooley for libel. Must be true then. SCC, you guys should print excerpts from "when corruption was king" to enlighten those who may not have seen it. It's also funny how Burke and his wife the "honorable" justice of the Il. supreme court didn't wind up in the shithouse along with the rest of the crooked bastards from "Gambat" Maybe Valukas didn't want to hurt his future prospects, eh? All as anyone with a room temperature IQ need to have done is look at all the investigations that died at obama's "dept of just-us" in DC to realize what an absolutel criminal gem it would be to have your very own criminal as the attorney general.
Smaller potatoes than the outright theft and extortion that went on at the national level, but still a good chunk of change here and the stroke to have the powerful come to you for favors in killing investigations into them/theirs.

The same Burke that is demanding special attentions be done at his home from the 008th district officers but to be kept off the air (via PDT only) so that it does not draw attention to the special treatment.
Another good read is American Pharaoh. It js about the Daley the First. It chronicals his rise to power and destruction of his political enemies. One such enemy is Benjamin Adamowski. Former state rep and State's Atty. Daley beat him for mayor in 1955. their rivalry continued for quite some time. Adamowski actually switched to Republican to go at Daley again. He was quite the thorn in the Daley Machine.

Burkes are the most qualified people in the world to run Chicago and Illinois offices. I would die before I voted for any of these jagoffs.

Your comment shows your lack of knowledge of what has happened in some previous elections. Madigan not only controls Illinois government, he has a lot of cash to spread around and he spreads it around to downstate legislators in an attempt to influence voting patterns. This has happened on many occasions and could very well happen in this upcoming election. Take nothing for granted in this state. If you have ever traveled Illinois you would realize how poor much of the state is.
Asked Burke for some help 1970 he blew us off stuck with bilandic mr cheapo , they will do time in purgatory AMEN, they ruined many lives with there decisions.

I've read Bob Cooley's book over and again. Even met him at a book signing in Lincoln Park. If you haven't read it yet, please do so. Not only is it full of good stories, but it's also an eyebrow-raising look into the corruption and impropriety by people in office.
I was the mop man at a porn peep show for a while.
It helped make me the man I am today.
