Rosemont is keeping their investigation in-house, as expected:
- Police in Rosemont on Monday said the investigation into the death of Kenneka Jenkins, the teenager who was found dead in a hotel walk-in freezer Sept. 10, would remain in their hands despite requests from activists that an outside agency become involved.
A statement from Police Chief Donald E. Stephens III released Monday night said, “this investigation has been and remains the utmost priority for us.”
Given that the former mayor, current police chief and convention center all share the same name, not to mention all of the Outfit characters running around, having the feds come in was certainly not in the cards. But it's still the right call.

I always like rosemont... ok ok... an outside agency investigates this--- who do they prefer do the investigation since a federal crime didn't take place which would = F(etal)BI and no one violated the Mann act or did a legitimate financial business and person involved was not a government official... let's let CPD do the investigation.... oh dem Poleec is some racist Poleec, ain't did not investigating because she black..., them our beloved Rahm would shill out more tax payer money at the tune of 5 million because the Poleec is racist, and a few coppers would be on the line for their jobs and mortgage.......

the Rosemont Stephens family have had their fair share of Fed scrutiny. Stephens and Fed are probably not on the best of terms.
Hopefully Jedidiah Brown doesn't get too worked up again. We all know he is prone to suicidal thoughts. Let's hope he doesn't do another stand off.

I agree, especially since one of the party goers is an employee at the Crown Plaza. Rosemont PD biggest task of the day is direct traffic in front of the Rosemont. The victim's mother should be allow to see the full unedited video from the hard drive, not a DVD clips. There is a camera above the freezer. Where is the footage of Kenneka walking into the freezer, closing the freezer door?
I'm sure that there's a camera posted near the freezer to monitor employee theft. Let momma see freezer girl opening that door and letting herself in. (Then her lawyers will want to know why no 24 security guards were stationed in front of the freezer door.) Kind've like suing the Park District cuz drunk girl walked into Lake Michigan at 3:30 a.m. Why no lifeguards be on duty?!?
Bring the Feds in and go after whoever used the stolen credit card to purchase the room, every 'nice' person who attended the party and bought along their alcohol and drugs. This will show the partygoers in their normal behavior.
