Nice Public Transit Rahm
Doing less with less - and guess who's noticing? In broad daylight no less:
- Three men were robbed at gunpoint Saturday afternoon at the Grand Avenue CTA Red Line subway station on the Near North Side, police said.
The men, ages 22, 24 and 26, were robbed on a platform at the station, 521 N. State St., about 12:25 p.m., said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.
The three were on the platform when three male attackers came up to them and demanded their property, police said. One of the attackers showed a handgun, and the victims handed over at least one wallet, a backpack and three phones.
The robbers then fled. No detailed description of the attackers was immediately available.
No description, eh? Imagine that. So be on the lookout for some people with guns, which now, come to think of it, would be too late to actually avoid being robbed. What we want to know is how did the offenders get the guns onto the CTA platform? There are "NO GUNS" signs everywhere, so we are truly baffled.
Oh yeah, and Transit is hopelessly undermanned, as is everyone.

Must had been a recruits first day on the job, forgot to get a description of the characters who were involved in the robbery... my judgement it might had been German guys, or perhaps a few Chinese guys, could be moe, Larry, and Curlie... those guys have died... anyone else care to chime in?
NYPD has thousands of Officers Assigned to Mass Transit,We have maybe 100 total and thats not Patroling at one time.

So if I'm a northside off-duty cop out with the girl and I see 3 men approach can I shove one onto 3rd rail and claim self defense?
Are officers who patrol the districts where these subway robberies are occurring being requested to make periodic checks of those subway stations in order to show more of a police presence on the CTA?Do the commanders of the districts involved have any plans to expand coverage of those stations (001, 018)?
It is just part of living in one of the safest cities in the world.

The description is the same as about 90% of all the other crimes in this fair city. South or Westside gangbangers and you all known what flavor they are. Unless they didn't speak English they most likely illegal in our dine sanctuary city.
The no gun signs are the problem. These thugs are products of the CPS system and can't read. You need to have speakers in several languages announcing no gun policy.
Also a warning to about to be victims they are entering and anger zone and are traveling at their own risk. Waiting for a legal CCC holder to sue after being assaulted due to the no gun policy. He would only be the first to win the victim lottery.

When Huberman and Claypool ran CTA, they assured the Public that cameras would reduce crime. I have no doubt that Higgo and the other political hacks at CTA have full color photos of these offenders. They will be apprehended in a few days, and all will be well again, and the 82 yr. old guy who was robbed and thrown down the stairs last week at the Loop CTA station, will recover and be removed from Life Support, if he is not already dead! Cameras Do Not Make Arrests! And in a City where the entire Criminal Justice System is doing everything possible to reduce the number of People of Color in jail, prison or juvenile detention; even when caught, these offenders will receive minimal punishment. LOL no detailed description available. So the victims, all three, noticed the robbers were males but didn't notice their race? I'm sure if it was a white cop and the "victims" were black that description would be "immediately" available.

I've worked in a lot of different cities and towns. Most of the time I worked nights in and around buildings that had those "No Firearms Allowed" stickers all over the place.
One thing I noticed was the more "No Firearms Allowed" stickers I saw, I more likely you would need a firearm.

No matter. I was in court, 29-2, a few days back and multiple CTA cases were called. Some defendants showed up, CTA reps showed up but not one arresting officer showed up. All defendants were free to go.
Does mass transit still have canine teams? All I ever see are security guards with muzzled dogs standing around. Just curious...

I am going on 20 years on the job and I cannot personally remember a robbery job where the race of the offender wasnt known. Someone needs to check the review offices in 018 and 001 and check the Robbery and theft from person folders. I’ll bet there is one common thing on the offenders that stand out beside the proceeds taken in the crime. I am talking about the race of the offenders.

Mass transit needs a real police commander not some merit boy or girl.
A real police commander should realiz that 90 % of the crime is on the Red Line he/she would the put the entire mass transit unit on the Red Line trains and stations. No bullshit tickets just jail arrests.
The sad truth is, the victims in this case were out late at night in a bad, unfamiliar, low-traffic neighborhood where anything can happen.

There is NO police presence on the CTA and even less supervision in PTS. It's shameful that working citizens have to pay for their rides with the drunks, weed-smokers, thieves, robbers and homeless.
It's only a matter of time before we have a Chicago version of Bernie Goetz and of course, the city will erupt in a first class shitstorm as a result.

I think you answered your own question and maybe her boss is in over her head by not having her do that. From what I read is another reason she is bringing in her own people and wouldn't want them having to do that

Agree on the commander but you cannot put all your coppers on the red line. Taxpayers gotta get a little too. They get next to no coverage even though they are paying the bill.
