Illinois to Lose 2 Seats?

  • When I was born Illinois had 24 seats in the US House of Representatives. Now there are only 18. Now Illinois is one of the few states consistently losing population. Yesterday the US Census Bureau released its latest population figures--and among the findings is that Pennsylvania passed up the Prairie State, it is now America's sixth-most populous state. The more than thirty-years of tyranny of state House Speaker Michael Madigan, a Chicago Democrat, and his public-sector union pals, is reaching its inevitable end. Illinois is a rotting corpse for maggots like Madigan to feed on.

Election Data Services in a press release reports that Illinois will lose another seat after the 2020 congressional reapportionment--and it may end up being the only state losing two seats. Boss Madigan is a master gerrymanderer--he'll find a way to increase the number of Democrats in the Illinois delegation, even though the biggest population drops are in the lockstep Dem strongholds of Chicago, particularly the West and South Sides, and its inner suburbs.
One would hope that Madigan was on his way out at some point, given that he's ruined the state, bankrupted its finances, driven out the working class of all races, and made Illinois increasing irrelevant on the national stage. But one would probably be mistaken.

People of Illinois are stupid. They keep voting these goofs in office. Look at Blago under federal investigation and he gets re-elected. Watch this goof Berrios, office is in shambles, has his entire unqualified family working there (nepotism) and crooked tax assessments. He is ideal for office.

I tire of the comments from people who think that a creep like Madigan can simply be voted out at the next election. If only it were that easy. Madigan has gerrymandered his district, loaded the public pay rolls with patronage workers who man his precincts, rigged the election laws to make ballot access much more difficult and even inserted shill candidates into the Republican column to make certain that he will not face a real opponent.

What needs to happen is for a real US Attorney to take Madigan out. That has never been a serious threat as the Feds have chosen to pursue lower pols and not the Big Tuna.

And since everybody's blaming poor RINO Rauner for the mess Madigan, his Demokrats and RINOs have created over the past 2 decades, you can be sure that Fat Boy will be our next governor. That's what Illinois voters want.

In one year and a week, Porky gets sworn, and Dems will be in 100% control of the state again -- then the death spiral will kick into turbo speed. That's what Illinois voters want.

Merry Christmas to all
And to this state, it's good night

That means the "negative growth" illinois has experienced is with illegal aliens INCLUDED!

I submit to SCC readers that we will experience at LEAST 2 seat loss, if not more.

There will be no amnesty and self deportation will ramp up when its made known that tge wall is being built and being caught on this side of means you will be put on the other side of it absent ANY ability to come here legally ever.

Many are going to be suprised next year and the years ahead.

How can Madigan, Cullerton or TubinDurbin hold their heads up high and mighty as Illinois continues to sink finacially further to the bottom of the Best Rated States?
They keep yapping about cutting everything thats nonessential and are first to vote for tax increases to increase entitlements.
The elected leaders are absolutely shameless.
They just don’t care.
Number 47 out of 50.
We didn’t get to this level by accident.
But voter fraud and corrupt Democrats will keep it there.
Bloated government agencies still out of control and Rauner the Reformer is hog tied.
Taxation going to sanctuary and needless infrastructure contractors.
Screwed every which way.

Beware of the GOP gubernatorial candidate Jeanne Ives(R)...a police pension legislation buster agenda, no plan just an across the board elimination of the entire IL Constitution pension protection article “cannot diminish or impair” clause.

Not to sound too cynical, but you asked and answered your own question. When the demorats talk about cutting "non-essentials" they are NOT referring to any entitlements. The entitlements are absolutely essential, if they intend to pander to their base and stay in office.

Little details such as public safety, maintaining infrastructure, or providing pensions and healthcare don't mean fuck-all to the political douchebags in terms of getting re-elected. It's all about feeding and housing the Free Shit Army. Sorry to be so blunt, but there it is. This is the pattern throughout most of the state, and it's the playbook for Democrats across the country.

The Second Civil War is coming, and coming soon. The mid-term elections are just over 10 months from now. If the Democrats win some Congressional seats, expect the usual bickering bullshit to be ramped up a notch or two. If the Democrats get spanked at the polls, then the low boiling hissy fit that's been simmering since November of 2016 will blow up like Chernobyl. The irresistible force is about to smack face first into the immovable object.

Truth be told it is only regression to the mean Historically, Pennsylvania has always had a larger population and one more house seat than Illinois. It was only until the last census that Illinois passed Pennsylvania in population. Pennsylvania has the oldest population in the United States. All this means is people are moving out of Illinois faster than they are dying in Pennsylvania.
