The Worst That Could Happen?

  • The city of Minneapolis may fire its police psychology evaluator because his tests screened out too many minority candidates, despite already lowering psych evaluations far below the national standard.

    The July police shooting of Justine Damond triggered the city to scrutinize its psychological standards for police, with many claiming they’d become lax. Psychiatrist Thomas Gratzer has run psych testing for the Minneapolis police for the past five years, and in that time, he has eliminated four of the five tests used to determine whether a candidate is fit to be an officer, APM reported Thursday. Now, Gratzer is facing firing not for gutting his standard, but for screening out too many minorities.
Rahm has already been directing his HR people to hire anyone with a pulse and we've seen
  •  recruit with Tourettes, 
  • a guy who had to have two targets downrange in order to hit something his lane, 
  • one who couldn't walk without a cane, 
  • a drunk who made it to graduation day, but was too plastered to shake hands with the mayor, 
  • another aiming a gun at another recruit over an argument
Nice hiring practices Rahm.

I've heard a rumor that a group of recruits were going to take a knee at flag one morning after the article of the 006th Dist dip shits were photographed doing it. Apparently a SGT with a set of iron clackers decided to pt them until their assholes were sucking buttermilk for just planning the idea. If the story is true, thank god for that SGT. Good to know someone still has a grasp on reality in that building.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about standards being racist because they exclude too many minorities. We have the standards to seek out the best and brightest, which by definition means that the dumbest and dullest are excluded - which is a GOOD THING.

If those people excluded want to be included - go improve your skills. Take classes. Work 2 or 3x harder than those who are included so you too, can make the cut.

But to claim that it excludes minorities and so we have to dumb it down to pander to the lowest common denominator? That's 100% pure, unadulterated, complete, and utter BULLSHIT folks, and an insult to everyone who did work and study hard to make the cut.

How about telling them: Sorry, you're welcome to try again. You need to improve in the following areas, including the "no whining" category.

Wow. I'm at a loss for words. Pointing a firearm at a fellow recruit! In anger! Wtf is going on? Is the CPD that desperate for recruits? I took a BB gun away from my grandson for a summer because he muzzled me. It crushed him, but he learned his lesson. Didn't anybody tell this guy the safety mantra - All guns are real - All guns are loaded. Treat them as such. I make my grandson repeat that to me before we load. He's 16 now, and treats firearms with respect. Hell, my 10 year old grandson gave his mom a lecture on safety before he let her shoot his 10/22! He made her demonstrate that she could handle the rifle BEFORE she could load it!

I'd love to know how many complaints that one gets in the first year on the street. And how could any complaint about verbal abuse with a citizen not be sustained? LOL

How/s the one with a cane doing? Does only his FTO/partner do the chasing of criminals?
Remember years ago when the driver drove and the partner did all the paper jobs? Kind of the same with the cane recruit; he must be the driver and his FTO/partner does the chasing. LOL

Honestly, it would be nice for the other 5900 coppers in patrol to know where these fools are working. I'd steer so far away from any and all of them.

It strikes me that the Left is hell-bent on de-policing. The replacement, of course, is a force bent on enforcing the thoughts and morals of the Left, governed by the globalists and assorted swamp critters.

If that is the end game, it is logical to continually ensure that the police are seen as the enemy and what better way to do that than fill the ranks with people that are completely unfit. Then you prosecute (and persecute) the good cops into submission, crime goes up, bad actions on the part of the police go up -- and "think of the children" you have your stormtroopers on the streets.

Our second chance PSYCH results are in - WOW!!!! What will the CITY, Barb & the nitwits at HR do with all these (un) qualified candidates. These results will be on display a few years from now when these (un) qualified candidates start to reveal their true nature. I'm only happy it helped out some officers' children and military vets (roughly 15% of those retested) whom this department has been screwing for many years.

Stay safe, fetal and don't be anyones pawn - its just not worth it.

CPD likes to protect the protected and let the marginal slide---once hired we provide little to no supervision, zero accountability and imaginary oversight....CPD does not weed out anyone once hired--not in the "friendlier gentler wellness academy"...or the "three recruits at a time per FTO" cycles ....or any time after that. truly a disaster in the making- lowered standards, less stand up bosses and fools in charge (lets remember Eddie did NOT even apply for his spot)

So just how do these retards make out of academy? Shame on the academy personnel. if directed to pass these failures why not go public with who gave order. wear a wire for feds if you have to. Anything less is a cop out. The only way to stop is it is to take matters into own hands and rat out your fellow officers. Just like the prison guards in concentration camps, the "I was only following orders", doesn't get it. Right is right and wrong is wrong.

Under Calloway, no one is fired. There are numerous examples of recruits with serious problems but they are ignored. Recruits with uncontrolled tempers, alcoholics, Scared to perform in scenarios. Every problem documented by the staff is ignored by Calloway. Last year when DOJ examined the academy, Calloway was asked about his drop out rate. In New York, LAPD and a few other cities they had a drop out rate around 10%. Calloway could not explain why his dropout rate of recruits was zero. Then after graduation, FTO's are powerless to fail a new recruit despite documentation. They are given more cycles until they pass. CPD's standards are very low.

Yet the unaccountable screwballs in the local government want to take away guns from the police.

Example;
Good chance MPD Mohammad Noor had a red flag pop up (shot a white Aussie gal from the passenger seat). This may not be a training or startled bad decision but some deeper indoctrination. They like to use this guy as their example of a “gun problem”, yet a model for their diversity hiring plan.
Then there’s yesterday’s incident in tolerant, liberal, diverse, inclusive, multicultural Melbourne Australia where pedestrians were mowed down by what they are calling, just a nut. Bad stuff has been happening often because the accepting, inclusive liberals don’t like to screen folks, especially from the broken home or radical nation.

So far, I understand that one can still get a My Pillow or on occasion, a 50 lb. Muskie out of Minnesota.
That’s about it.

Years ago I spoke with a Captain who I knew as a dick in the old Area 4. He was telling me that recruits that came on in 1996 were forced on to the department because of a court order. Many had their criminal histories expunged. That graduating class contained more part 1 felons, had more OPS and IAD beefs than any he had seen in his 24 years on the job.

Back in the early 1990's, Stanard and Associates was the firm that held the contract for administrating the MMPI psychological profile questionnaire. His rejection of candidates, based on results of this psychological profiling riled minority alderman in the City council causing him to loose the contract to test candidates seeking admission to the police academy. The 400 question multiple choice survey measured 4 main areas. The responses to the tests measured a candidates tendency for substance abuse, criminal leanings, integrity, and hypochondria. Standard appeared before the City Council and apparently pissed of the likes of then Alderman Evans, and some others in the minority block by defending the standards of the survey and its accuracy in predicting future officer behavior. He got bounced, and the Isaac Ray company took over with more lenient scoring of the test. Don''t know when this prediction tool was tossed but it seems that a lot of what came on the job afterwards is why you scratch your head and wonder how some of these people are riding around in squad cars with weapons.

And a previous poster is correct. Many of these would never have been hired 30 years ago.

Was able to bring a laptop to class too. Now I hear this fool is part of the Shot Spotter crew in HQ. Fuck the connected!!

Lowering standards for minorities, or anyone for that matter, is doing them a great disservice. In reality, it's "A soft biogorty of low expectations." Any minority with an ounce of self pride should be ashamed and embarrassed the city is lowering standards.

Challenge yourself and seek a department with higher standards. You won't regret it.

She’s a Moran and do is the commander in 10th Dist.
Both those add holes together could bump their heads and the light bulb wouldn’t go off.
They fucked over 2 good coppers from 005 and said they failed to assist the commander of 10 on a street stop.
First of all CTA special is not on the same fradio frequency as the 10th district so if they were driving pass how the fuck did they know he called them on the radio.
Second where the fuck is your 10th District Officers?
Third, why u fucking with the good black citizens, don’t you have a meeting to attend?
Fourth, did u complete ISR Mr 10th district Commander, you initiated the stop, detained them for over 30 minutes did you do 6 ISR?
The officers were suspended for 180 days for BS you MERIT HACKS should be ashamed of yourself picking on these 2 great Officers from 005th district.
10thy district Boss, you were not in distress and there was no need to stick it to them with 180 days.
The police department wants the officers to be nice to the citizens but these merit hack bosses are sticking it up the Officers asses.

Recruits now keep shooting until they pass. It will use to be 3x and your out. Now it’s unlimited tries. Guess that’s where my 100 rounds per year went.

Im an FTO and get these guys after the academy I can tell you that most have very little streets smarts or common sense to get them through the cycle. And yes our hands are tied, we get recruits that have had cycles with two and three year wonders (New FTOs) that are grading these goofs. They give them high grades and when they get to me I lower the grade but it doesn't make a difference to cause alarm.
FTOs should have a minimum 5 years one the job and the academy needs to do a better job at weeding the unqualified out...

Heard this is the same guy who went into a downtown hotel while on window detail and walked into a wedding. Once in there, he started eating the guests' h'orderves and was kicked out. If true, that's unreal. How? Why is he on this job? I'm guessing he wears a Bluetooth earpiece while on the job too.

Hang in there guys and gals. Don't jump the gun and quit. We normal (normal by my standards anyway) citizens need a few thousand of you to try and keep the peace, or at least give us some cover til we can get outta dodge! Just don't be offended if one of us CCW holders clams up and asks for a lawyer before we speak to you after defending ourselves. I, for one, hope that day never comes. The Commander in Public Transportation, 3 Merit promotions, how many bites from the apple can you take, doesn’t you’re conscious bother you?

She’s a Moran and do is the commander in 10th Dist.
Both those add holes together could bump their heads and the light bulb wouldn’t go off.
They fucked over 2 good coppers from 005 and said they failed to assist the commander of 10 on a street stop.
First of all CTA special is not on the same fradio frequency as the 10th district so if they were driving pass how the fuck did they know he called them on the radio.
Second where the fuck is your 10th District Officers?
Third, why u fucking with the good black citizens, don’t you have a meeting to attend?
Fourth, did u complete ISR Mr 10th district Commander, you initiated the stop, detained them for over 30 minutes did you do 6 ISR?
The officers were suspended for 180 days for BS you MERIT HACKS should be ashamed of yourself picking on these 2 great Officers from 005th district.
10thy district Boss, you were not in distress and there was no need to stick it to them with 180 days.
The police department wants the officers to be nice to the citizens but these merit hack bosses are sticking it up the Officers asses.

So because your working special you don't STOP to check if a p.o. is okay with 6 in a car? It's beneath you to wait around until his backup comes. Not in distress huh? Guess no traffic stop ever went south in the blink of a eye. If they work in 5 they must not be that great. Sounds like a couple of lazy f**ks to me.

^The cane is real but who chases anyone anymore? Adapt/transition fast my friend, or you too will be railroaded the same way JVD has been. The SGT tells us to stay fetal and stay on the job.

Just reached 6 years, and turned my papers in. This department sucks. Worst decision I made was joining cpd. Glad my new department is run in a professional way.

I had the misfortune of getting these recruits when the FTO was on furlough or they finished their cycle.
The overwhelming majority of them were suburbanites or out of state hires that had the burning desire to be urban crusaders, not a lick of sense the lot of them. They are now white shirts and Detectives and everyone stands around slack jawed wondering why this Department is Is in the current state it’s in.

To the responder of my post "Hang in there boys and girls" about my bent sense of humor. I mean you no disrespect. If anything, I have the utmost respect for your profession. I come from a family of cops, and when I was younger, road the back seat of a beat car on occasion and drank coffee on a few stakeouts. Yes, that was against the rules, but that was the late 60s -- a much different time in policing. Having said that, I'm at a loss as to what I said that warranted your response. Was it the point I made about seeking a lawyer? If that was it you need to be reminded that is YOUR right also. If I'm not mistaken I believe PO's have 24 hrs before they have to answer questions after a shooting. I'm asserting my right to counsel just as any wise PO would. Again, if I'm mistaken in my response, please advise me so. I am your biggest supporter and mean no harm or disrespect to anyone who walks the thin blue line. Wishing everyone a hoppy and safe holiday.

Appreciation is not the same as enjoying the benefits of.....

You cannot appreciate sacrifice, just by merely benefiting from sacrifice, let alone requesting continued sacrifice for your further benefit, let alone defining your further benefit as you effectively farting as you leave for, presumably, greener pastures.

You want to actually be appreciative.....stay and stand for what you say you appreciate.

In other words, know when you are choosing to retreat and do not bother to wave a fond farewell to those holding the line so you can do so. That's not why we hold the line, as best we can........
