- Rahm Emanuel appeared Tuesday on Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” and wowed the host and audience with his rabid anti-Trump rhetoric. Perhaps jealous of his famous Hollywood power-agent brother, Ari Emanuel, Rahm giddily joined the cacophony of late-night TV anti-Trump snark and, unknowingly, provided Chicagoans a Nero-like vision of a failed leader playing his fiddle as his city smolders, beset by rampant violence, failing schools, and a fleeing population.
It’s a time-honored tactic. Failed autocrats divert attention from internal problems by blaming outside influences. Fidel Castro mastered the art of distraction for decades, ascribing responsibility for his country’s rampant poverty not to his own failed Marxist-inspired economic policies but to the longstanding U.S. trade embargo, which he termed “the cruel blockade against the Cuban people.” Emanuel follows a similar playbook: ignore the bodies, mostly black ones, lying dead in his streets and instead focus on that Donald J. Trump guy in the White House.
It gets better from there, pointing out how Rahm steered the McDonald shooting video, rips him for the failing schools, cites the rising homicide rate, and blames him for the flight of middle-class blacks. An amusing read for anyone paying attention to city politics

Just a bit OT, evidently not only did we throw a huge chunk of change at DePaul to help them build their new WinTrust Arena but we are now taking officers and vehicles off the street to provide security outside the stadium on game days. One has to ask, is the city getting reimbursed by DePaul or is this just another freebie from the nine digit midget?

My wife and daughter would descend on Michigan Avenue every December for a week at either the Four Seasons, Ambassador East or the Ritz. Spending all in about 12 Gs a trip. We did not spend THAT much, but we used to go down to N. Michigan as well and buy stuff and eat at the Drake as well. Now? We avoid Chicago. I always feel ripped off paying the high sales tax and even worse paying for parking. So we don't go anymore. Plus, with the threat of crime and carjacking - why take a chance?

Politico may have the identified Boykin’s “they” as Hezbollah or “party of God” Islamic Jihad Organization, an international terror network. The D.E.A’s Project Cassandra identified this terror group as funneling cocaine into the U.S. through Columbia and Mexico to purchase weapons for murderous worldwide terrorist operations.
It seems former President O’Bama curtailed DEA efforts to dismantle the narcotics component of this terror organization and its affiliates. It seems O’Bama was more concerned with his perceived relations with Iran than taking out an international terror network and its narcotics distribution operations in the United States. The end distributers of the smuggled cocaine into the U.S. assemble in these underserved communities and are the identified guns a blazing urban soldiers in this “quiet genocide”.
