- Shootings across Chicago have left five people dead and 11 more wounded since Friday afternoon. In a particularly violent six hours of the weekend, nine people were shot — three of them fatally — in attacks Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The most fatal recent shooting took the life of a 15-year-old boy as he rode in a car Sunday morning in the LeClaire Courts neighborhood on the Southwest Side. About 6:50 a.m., someone in a white vehicle crashed into the back of the car the boy was riding in and then someone fired shots into it, striking the boy in the head, according to Chicago Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene in the 5100 block of West 47th Street.
In addition to the 5 dead and 11 maimed, there's a death investigation up in the quiet part of 016 and someone got beaten to death in Ukrainian Village - another formerly "quiet" part of town.
Oh yeah - rifle killing has continued unabated and we still can't get people trained up, despite Ed Burke's promises.

That’s eight killed on a usually quite West 47th St in Brighton Park and Archer Heights. If memory serves me right wasn’t a white van and rifle also used on the quad homicide at 47th & Wadtenaw and the one at 47th and Harding?
Better get some real dicks on these cases there may be a serial killer out there. We’re all of the incidents gang related? Was the last one possible a case of mistaken identity? Do we have a “Death Wish” type getting payback Paul Kirsey type?

Regarding the 15 year old shot and killed in the 5100 block of 47th St, I've e never heard a bigger bunch of inane politically correct bullshit from police spokesman Anthony Googleme. Originally it is was thought the incident might be related to the double at 59th and Richmond. Quoting Googleme, "due to his "heritage" it is unlikely that the victim wad involved in a war involving Hispanic gangs in the Chicago Lawn area." I would venture a guess that by the sound of his name, Googleme must have figured the victim was white.
Watching the news this morning though, the only question is what part of Latin America the family is from. Which kind of makes him Hispanic. I wish those in the know would keep their mouths shut when they have no idea what they're talks about. Maybe a phone call or two before commenting might be helpful next time.

I thought I heard on the radio about a young woman getting beaten and carjacked at 15th and State over the weekend. Some POS punched her out , and she broke her leg. I believe news guy said he stole her purse, phone and 2008 BMW. Nothing more on the news or in the papers. Did I hear this correctly? What a violent , horrifying incident. Could have been anyone of our daughters or wives. Nice city Rahm.

Believe it or not, that is precisely why he was out that early - he WAS delivering newspapers. And double believe it or not, he was in the company of his father. Not his brother, not his cuzzo, not his uncle, not his play daddy - his REAL father. Unlike 99.9% of the deserving meeting their ends, this one was an actual tragedy.

Great point,the shooters are good wonder if they are more illegals like from ms13 military type!The good thing is no extra carnage and kill shots, makes it cheaper to give the dirt naps that pay the millions to keep them alive! Currently there are 40 death investigations.
It is quite likely the 700th murder has already happened.
When next year's total get ready to pass this years they will quietly bump up this year's total.
