They Grow Up So Fast

  • Teen shot by off-duty Chicago cop in alleged carjacking attempt held without bail
So within the space of 24 hours, he went from "boy," a racially charged term (and one that implies innocence), to a "teen," a word implying a bit of rambunctiousness (and stupid decision making).
  • [ASA] Antonietti said the officer was sitting in a vehicle in the 3600 block of South Prairie Avenue about 6:50 p.m. in the Bronzeville neighborhood. The victim, an 18-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department had finished work in the 11th District and was about to head home, officials said. He stopped his vehicle and was gathering his paperwork. He saw two men walking south on Prairie. He was untying his work shoes, Antonietti said.

One of the two men approached the passenger side window; he said something and made a gesture as though he was asking for the time. The officer glanced in his driver’s side mirror. He saw the second man, holding a long-barreled gun, according to Antonietti.

The weapon soon was aimed at the driver side window and the man ordered the officer out of the car and threatened to kill him, according to Antonietti.
The Tribune finally applied the word 'victim' to the correct party. Let's see if they make it a habit now instead of painting the gun wielding offender as someone not facing felony charges. Based on past experience and observation, we have our doubts, but they may surprise us. It has happened before.

Now WGN is "reporting" the officer fired his "Department issued weapon." As many have commented, CPD doesn't "issue" a weapon. Pistols are bought by the officer, out of pocket, when joining the Academy. One day, an enterprising reporter may do what used to be called "research" and write something factually accurate.

That WGN reporter is the daughter of a retired policeman, shouldn't she know better? Maybe she should ask her daddy.

"Reporter" in name only was apparently researching only bullshit to draw emotions from other assholes in the community

WGN News along with the other news stations is only going to get its shit together when their people are robbed, put in fear, or harmed on a continuous bases as the people they report about are. The only difference will be the reporters will get to go home to their safe suburbs while the rest of us listen to the gun fire get closer to our homes.

Seriously, why can’t reporters report the actual truth? What happened to getting all the facts? Even kids in school are told by teachers to gather all the facts before they write a story. Obviously the reporters do not have the proper education to hold their title.

Reminds me exactly of the empty lot scene in Heat.
Driver gets ready to hand over a payoff bag, then
glances into passenger rear view and sees a guy
creeping up with a long gun.
Whatcha in for? I watched a movie and thought it
would work in real life.

Caveat fucktor. COPA is the "do over" for
the modern day criminal.
If you like your COPA, you can keep your COPA.

Stop yourself SCC. Suggesting a reporter would write a factually based story. There's a better chance of Rahm growing his 10th finger back

Thes reporters have been educated in liberal cop hating universities. So don't expect any favorable press from them. They were indoctrinated.

These so-called "Reporters" never let facts get in the way of their stories.

They should start every one of their "news" articles with Once Upon a Time.

Perhaps the treasonous media reported “Department issued weapon” in order to somehow connect the city to the shooting, seeing as they bought the gun in the first place, putting them on the line for possible payout later. But then again the media has become a branch of the leftist government, so who knows what they are up to.

I'd like to know more about that 'Long Barreled Gun' the mutt had. It sounds like a revolver but what kind?

Was it a Colt Single Action Army, aka: Peacemaker? Did it have a 4 3/4," a 5 1/2", or a 7" Barrel?

Or was it a 'clone'? A lot of Gun Mfgs are making Single Actions now due to the popularity of Cowboy Action Shooting & the SASS (single action shooting society).

And if it is a Colt, that's gun's worth a pretty penny, they're like $1,200 dollars new.

Come on Tribune, enquiring minds want to know.

I'll wager a dollar to a toroidal nutritional unit that somebody from the Trib skims this blog every few hours and applies the corrections needed to their 'news' 'articles'.

What the hell, after all the editors were fired they have to take what they can get!

The "department issued" firearms is an example of something Ronald Reagan referred to.

Progressive liberal collectivist communists pukes know so very much, the problem is that none of what they know is actually true.

Now consider this.

These are the "educated" stupid people!
Imagine how stupid the stupid people are, then, when you think it just can't get any worse, consider the fact that they VOTE.

Maybe that whole "Republic" thing actually does matter after all, eh?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-lyft-driver-carjacked-20171220-story.html

Yet again no descriptions of animals that did this! Who is not putting out descriptions? Is it googleme (clueless), or the dishonest Chicago democratic controlled media?

In all fairness, the Associated Press Style Book, which all newspapers use, says to use "boy" or "girl" for anyone under the age of 18. That's not to say that local style may take precedence — the New York Times, for instance, refers to people as Mr., Mrs, Ms., etc. But "teenager" isn't technically correct according to the "news bible."

For the record, I got out of the (Southern Ohio) newspaper business in 2005, though I had my Ohio CCL from the month is was available and have received my Illinois CCL too.

Stay safe out there.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that "research". Your face will end up as blue as the blog's home page.

Over at St. Sabina, there is supposed to be a Christmas concert tomorrow evening, featuring a jazz band made up of parishioners. Apparently, Father Flakey will take his hands off of a male organ and try playing a Hammond B3. He's pretty good, but kind of modest about his musical talents- hence the stage name of "Felonious Monk."

Reporters think they know everything, but you know from your own observations they are sloppy and often don't do their homework. When Trump addressed the cops at the FBI National Academy graduation, most press reports said he was talking to rookie FBI agents. Funny how they had all those foreign flags and old coppers on the stage. Maybe the National Academy is unknown to reporters, or maybe they just wanted to bash Trump and say he was pandering to the FBI after criticizing them the same day, but I doubt they are that smart. Remember when Chris Matthews railed against army troops abusing prisoners in Iraq- he said look at those hoods and dog collars they put on the detainees- the pentagon must have knowingly issued those to abuse prisoners. In reality the "hoods" were sandbags and the dog collars were issued for military working dogs the MPs had. But Matthews knows nothing of the military outside of movies.

OT. A great place to buy guns and ammo is Rural King. You can order online and pick up at the store in Plano IL. Not a bad drive. Very good selection and prices.
