019 Swiping?

So the HQ test run must have been rousing success?

OT is under control and house mouses are doing full tours of duty? No early ducks, half-tours, carried on the sheets?

Can we see the printouts?

So now it's to be piloted in the field:
  • Apparently 019 has to swipe in and out with only 7 min window... It's not attached to payroll... after 30 days the people who have not been doing it will be admonished... then 30 days later if the same people are found to not be swiping in then could be a spar
So it's not even attached to payroll?

Does this mean we still get a "gun day"?

Swiping issue aside, leaving 019 after the merge was the best thing I ever did. If you’re still there from the merge, from either side (019 or 023), just get out of there. You’d be surprised on how nice a change of scenery can be. I’m not one who relishes change either. Trust me. That jag off McCarthy ruined two good districts.

All true. It's in the C.O. book and coming to a district near you soon. I remember when police were trusted. Now, we are presumed to be doing wrong, unless a body worn camera, a dash camera, two microphones,a GPS and now a time clock says you are not. Oh well, we still better get those numbers for Rahm. He still has our back.

The CPD has utilized an automated A&A system for about 10 years now. That system was to be tied to payroll when it went on-line back then. The problem was many Officers in the Department do not work regular start times i.e. tact, gang, foot and relief Officers for beat cars. The system was paying Officers large amounts of O.T. for swiping in 8hrs before their start time or docking pay for Officers who were RDO and never swiped in. This was never a problem, because it was never tied to payroll. We would see reports from Inspectors about problems.

It’s going citywide soon equipment and supplies just got it all the required parts to put it all together along with cameras to monitor machines in case some idiot attempt to disable it, as we know some coppers will try and then be terminated and prosecuted! The ducks will stop, no more “incentives” this could be a good thing though keeping the young and dumb aggressive coppers out of the court system getting sued getting that ghetto fabulous treatment in court because you worked hard to get that gun to get the duck! Staying not fetal but using your head as more than a hat rack will save you misery, and pain what counts is Blue going home unscathed every tour protect each other and protect families of brothers and sisters in blue we are all we have! May God bless the Police!

Before retirement, we were told we had to swipe in and out in 019. Some did as they were told. Just to check, I never swiped in or out. That was for about two years. No one ever said a thing and I never missed a check. If I was there still I still would not swipe. Swipe this. Until someone proves the system is on-line, fuck the system.

The city of Chicago only issued the police department 10,000 CATA numbers to use (since its inception), so it cannot be used for payroll because some employees share CATA numbers. For now anyway, and before you jump on the manpower thing, the department has civilian employees that use the system also.

The new machines have been installed at the airports for awhile to test how long they would function, not being used by everyone as yet, they have a palm and finger reader so that eliminates the multiple cards at once dilemma! Why are these finally being put in place? look around how many coppers doubled some tripled salary with overtime, the pigs got fat the hogs are going to slaughter! Oh and the paperwork is being finalized many coppers will get an awakening, this scandal will blow open the core of many, thanks for ruining much by being the hogs, you will be at minimum paying back much, and at maximum loss of freedom! Dont want to be so blunt but how crazy can you be? was the big boat, the jacked up wrangler with $30,000 in accessories worth it? How about those benzs? Funny the average car loans for many coppers is $775.00 month payments now with loss of extra cash repo man will be coming soon!

The 7 minute window is because that's what DOL considers to be de minimus. In essence, if you punch in 7 min early, they round up to the time you should have started (so no OT for that 7 min), and if you punch in 7 min late, they round back to the time you should have started because they figure you were standing in line waiting to punch...

Anything outside of that window requires additional work, documentation, justification, etc... it's a big PITA when/if someone files a DOL complaint alleging OT not paid or work done off the clock.

I've been saying this from the start. The city isn't equipped to tie swiping to payroll. Nothing changes. It's just a way to check ot abuses. Your time is your time. You take time on the front or the end and swipe no dock in pay. As long as you aren't ghosting you are fine. If they start mandating ISRS for pay then it's time to flee to Canada. Or Montana.

Ha! You must not work in 024. Those tac guys don’t lock up anybody. They even brag about it. They just bring in blue cards. They’re the guys that can’t make days on the bid so they work tac so they can work days half the year. Half of those guys wouldn’t be on tac anywhere else in the city.

Where do you get your info Goof ball. Tact teams swipe too. It’s the bosses you should worry about when it comes to fairness. They should be swiping also.

Hey you idiot...since when do you worry about white shirts...they do what they want and are above your paygrade so you dont need to worry about someone out of your league!

What happens when a late swipe is made and no slip is made out? Who is contacted for uncompensated OT? There is documentation.

The swipe system will reinforce that ALL overtime must h
ave prior approval from a supervisor.

Other companies in the private sector have lost thsee arguments with dual time keeping systems. So have companies that violate juvenile employment laws. You have seven years on the statute of limitations. All overtime is required by order here. All reports must be completed by the end of the tour of duty.

Oh, you must be one of those elite, backward baseball cap wearing TACT guys. In my 20 year career I was never cool enough to work tac. Now go home and get your fucking shine box!

I work Tac , will gladly swipe . I wear blue jeans , make arrests , write ISR’s , make plenty of OT in court , cancelled day off for details , work half the year on days . What’s not to like ? Me and my partner lead Tac teams in Arrests and never get refused time due .

So if it wasn't enough for the 019 Dist. to be "Selected" for the Swipe In/Out pilot program (or if you decide to believe the rumor that Cmdr. "Buttlick" "Volunteered Us" much like he did when he was in 014 with the body camera's "pilot program")

So if that was not enough,we were told that the XO,Capt. P.K. is forcing 1st Watch officer's to drive the worst vehicles in the district while 2nd watch drive brand new Ford Explorer's

And less I fail to mention: Officer's assigned directly to 019 who sit on the Mayors residence are exempt from both Swiping and Body Camera's because we all know Rahm is a Firm Believer in Transparency.

Who in their Right mind that is Not already assigned to a north side dist. bother biding into 019? Obviously the City knew this was coming down which is the reason they assigned 19 New Recruits to work Here. Every Car I saw on the 1st watch sheets has a PPO on it!

I $ure hope All this Doe$n't affect Morale.

Front Office personnel: You better use a cloaking device or turn into the invisible man when you try to take that Early Duck. We're Watching. Let's not forget Tact.
