CPS Inspections
- The discovery of rats and rodent droppings throughout the building at Mollison Elementary School in Bronzeville and two failed health inspections there last fall prompted Chicago Public Schools officials to declare they were ordering an all-hands-on-deck series of inspections citywide.
That “blitz” was supposed to inspect 220 schools to start, CPS said. But despite initially finding that problems such as rodent droppings, pest infestations, filthy food-preparation equipment, and bathrooms that were dirty, smelly and lacked hot water, CPS quietly halted the inspections before completing them all, records obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times show — shortly after the newspaper requested information on the early results.
CPS provided blitz reports from 125 facilities that show only 34 of those schools passed inspection by inspectors from the district’s facilities department and Aramark, the private company that manages the custodians and oversees food service. And not all of the schools that were re-inspected passed the second time around, according to hundreds of documents and photos taken at nine schools that were provided under the state’s public records act.
CPS cancelled the inspections halfway through because it was obvious that Aramark and whatever is left of the janitor's union weren't really doing their jobs with a 27% pass rate.
So, when can we expect a facilities inspection of police department buildings? Long time readers will recall a numerous photos we've posted over the years of leaky bathrooms, collapsing structures, broken plumbing, etc. There's enough there to keep Bonnie Amato and her crew of ghost payrollers busy for the next two elections.
UPDATE: By the way, Rahm is "outraged," probably because this might cost him votes.

The only person who can fix this problem is Rham
Disgusting. And yet the politicians care about the kids. sears running in the hallways toilets overflowing. Yet CPS just laid off maintenance workers. Will any leader cancel the contracts
CPS “facilities department” lolol. Yeah lots of professionals in that department. So obviously they never get off their ass and do anything on a daily basis which is their job. Then good old Aramark. They cant get off their asses and check their accounts either. Money well spent again CPS.
“Outraged.”
He is the asshole who gave the schools away to private companies. I recall reading about it here in the last year about the crap going on.
Well that principal of Mollison, use to be assistant principal at her previous high school was apart of a massive grade changing scandal , nothing surprises myself about her stealing from cps budget ,grade changing, no discipline I’m surprised both schools are still standing .
Wouldn't it be ironic, epically ironic, if all those not shithead minded people of color that supposedly reside within our city's boundries, were to be provided a choice of a PoC version of our President? Ya know, someone who, if such a someone exists, could avoid being whacked by the usual whackamoolees, to lead the west and south side PoC to the long promised, never to be delivered, promised land of plenty?
As in, plenty of honest, honorable, decent jobs at which to earn an honest, decent wage?
As in, plenty of opportunities to be actual decent humans, living actual decent lives, within actually decent communities, unburdened by the riff raff rabble which has been their infamy for decades?
Is there such a Black Trump, Brown Trump, or any other shade of Trump in existence?
Now, that, would be someone to make the politicos of our crooked county and bent city shit their entire internal organs out of their pieholes.......indeed.....
Ummmmmm.....I think we can Blame some of the students too don'tcha think????...These schools didn't get to be pig stys all by themselves....
Boy, if I were looking to move to Shitcago I couldn't wait to send my kids to a Third World school. Fuck you Rahm
where did that 100 million go that rahm paid magic johnson to clean schools???
Nothing like this would have happened at St. Gabe's back in the day. Any janitor who slacked off was out on his ear.
So how big are the campaign donations from Amamark? No record of donations, that's right everything was under the table or off the books.
You all know how much chicago values and rewards payoffs.
The schools are no different than many of the students homes. they want them to feel comfortable.
Who controls CPS and hired Aramark? That’s the Mayor. Several janitors and engineers left CPS when Aramark took over or had their workload increased. Whose fault is that? Rahm’s. Who made money when Aramark took over? Rahm’s friends and probably Rahm.
Fuggaddaboutit..........Venecko Services office is one big Flop house and Card Parlor
Maybe CPS needs oversight by judicial means
Rats and droppings, why are you shocked?
This headline usually is associated with
eateries and Roach Coaches.
Cubs Clubhouse is cleaner.
Say that 18 times.
Rahm will not show a crocodile tears for this , only uses that when young kids are shot down like dogs .
People are on to his BS . Can republicans field a candidate to run against prewinkle, she’s a embarrassment to the citizens of cook county .
Follow the money and you will find the answer every time.
Ha-ha-ha1 These alder-creatures are something special, they're really one of a kind. Case in point, South Side Ald. Carrie Austin, to wit: ......
>>>>> '... Austin is upset about the dirty classrooms and lunchrooms but also is concerned that a blanket characterization of schools as “filthy” could further hurt CPS’ flagging enrollment. ~~~para~~~ “Why do you have to say the school is ‘filthy’? Because filthy is a very harsh word as far as I’m concerned. Are there some of our schools that need much attention? Yes, yes, they are. But to use the language that has been used, it’s disparaging,” she said. “How do we entice people to come to our city if that’s all we say, just disparaging words about our city?” <<<<<
(shakin' my head) Carrie, Carrie, you poor little Snowflake, are you serious? Harsh and disparaging words?!? What would you prefer: 'Not so clean', 'a bit unsanitary'? Or how about; 'Rodent and Insect Friendly'.
But do you actually think that calling the schools 'filthy', which they are, will actually hurt enrollment? The families that can flee and avoid Chicago's schools are doing it already, a 'harsh word' won't make a bit of difference.
And here's a Newsflash lady; People won't be staying away from Chicago due to an adjective used to describe the cleanliness of its schools. They'll be staying away due to the out-of-control Violent Crime -- the Armed Carjackings, the Robberies, Thefts, and the Shootings & Dead Bodies in the streets, and the rivers of blood flowing in the gutters.
Oh... wait... I was a bit harsh and disparaging there, I'm sorry Cupcake.
(OT) But dont worry rahm has gotten more money nope not for bills due like police pensions for this monstrosity where just recently he said "O'Hare no tax dollars would be used for expansion" as the nose grows:
4 billion bond approval earns Emanuel key victory as council green lights O'Hare overhaul

“The decision and the vote today is, in my view, for the city of Chicago and the people of the city of Chicago, our boarding pass to a brighter and bolder future,” he said, adding, “This is a watershed moment.”
*Our boarding pass rahm? This is the boarding past to hell to hire taxes and less for "the children" nad insolvency right Pinocchio?
Luther North High School sits vacant. City has issues with debt. The logical thing is to buy or lease some of these vacant schools. The stupid thing is to build a Taft HS freshman campus at Irving Park/Oak Park for $70 mil. Probably will be at least 90 mil with costs over runs and financing
Some CPS schools are complete shitholes, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Some (most?) CPD stations are complete shitholes too, I think we all agree. I just won’t jump on the bandwagon of blaming others for our decrepit conditions, it sounds way too much like the drivel of a welfare mutt. We have allowed this malaise to spread like cancer within our department, from super to patrolman. The only answer is to step away from this department and leave. I will clean this saying up a little bit, but “if you give good people bricks, you will soon have a city. If you give scumbags a city, soon you will have bricks.”
Democrat=Third world
Maybe it should go back to the days when kid's went home for lunch. Cancel all the breakfasts and lunches and get the food out of the schools.
MORE TAX MONEY SAVED AS THE MAJORITY OF THE FOOD GOES IN THE GARBAGE! They will also save on exterminator charges as well as the number of useless custodian's and lunch monitor's!

Emanuel: Trump ‘stepped back from the American dream’ — so cities must ‘step up’
https://chicago.suntimes.com/chicago-politics/emanuel-trump-stepped-back-from-the-american-dream-so-cities-must-step-up/
Excerpt:
But, the mayor didn’t stop there. He also talked about the legal defense fund he created that, Emanuel claims, already has provided assistance to more than 25,000 Chicago immigrants and about the “citizenship corners” in Chicago public libraries.
Legal defense fund? Who pays for this? Ahh rahm are you investing the money you took from police retirees health care? Then your talking in this article about climate change and "being green" same thing right? Hmm do as I say not as I do again, you and your family are driven around in huge SUVs which get what at best 12mpg, and belch more carbon adding to ozone layer correct? Why not have your ass chauffeured in Toyota Prius 55mpg or are you to good for that? But then again "redlight" running would not have same impact?
They should inspect the police district station. Whoever is contracted to clean does a half ass job. Most of the time the janitors are hiding in the janitors closet texting or sleeping.
Easy to solve this problem. Throw more money at it. That’s what CPS does and they will just raise our property taxes
(OT) you retired and they “pull you back in”
Former Chicago cop charged with on-duty sex abuse

The dna swab test not conclusive but could be him!
Over a year goes by and then this! Buzzaro world on full display, police as targets in Chicago yet again!
Sounds like school's in some third world countries. And in the home city of a recent, former President. (But a city he won't live in). Shameful.
J.J.
Rahm’s overcrowded rats are on the CPS breakfast and lunch program now.
At least they stay after school and we aren’t paying to bus them too.
Solution:
Either have the students learn a trade in hospitality, housekeeping and sanitation.
Extend the CPS workday to include cleanup or a $9.50 garbage fee tacked on to their pay stub to cover it.
Last resort:
Bring back Cholly Williams - Pied Piper of the Norway Rat.
What we have here is a funding problem. Education is so underfunded. There are almost 7,000 taxing bodies in Illinois alone. The Chicago Public Schools are one of the seven thousand. Step up to the plate C.P.S. for the children and generate more revenue to promote those culturally diverse clean sanctuaries for the children. And by the way don't worry, you can tax your way to come clean.
Your board is unelected by the voters but retains the power to tax, so don't sweat elections or accountability at the ballot box. As for educating the children and preparing them to compete in Joe Biden's touted high tech workplace or green economy with bountiful employmentlets not go there.
Maybe we can "organize" students to march and decry the downright nasty conditions in the re-education camps. Maybe the scholars can demand a "Bill of Rights Demanding Sanitary Justice" for students. And then hold a registration drive to register classmates for the upcoming student elections.
Maybe front organizations funded by former ultra-progressive N.Y. City Mayor Bloomberg and new world order advocate George Soros can bus students in to march on city hall and the call out the N.E.A. (National Educational Association not the NRA) for failing to prepare disadvantaged students to read at national levels and damning them to a lifelong career in the low skilled service sector.
A very apt headline there, SCC: "CPS Schools are filthy cesspools!"
I would also add that they have a problem with sanitation and pest control.
Hasn't Bonnie Amato retired yet? Or has her incompetence been further rewarded?
How bout Near North HS, home of police training? Hey FOP, isn't that a safety violation?
Haven't seen one of those filed since Harold Kunz.
Should’ve closed this school when the city had the chance. Now every building must be inspected because ‘my babies can’t learn their science and advanced math in these conditions!’
The answer is simple and always the same “follow the money”.
Harold and the “B” boys.
Seriously? Who are the people who are actually supposed to be doing the cleaning? Is there no supervision? No standards? Are they unionized workers who can't be fired? I went to a boarding school where the students did all the cleaning during daily "work periods". Everything was super clean. If these workers are union, then THE UNION SYSTEM SUCKS.

Ahhhhh......the bag of chips dains to contribute it's deep, crispy thoughts on the subject of.......boarding school behaviors.....
Students of said bag of chips boarding school, being required to clean up whatever messes they make, presumably then become motivated to make less mess. A valid and, amongst said boarding school residents, effective method to induce accountibility awareness in said resident students.
Alas, the honesty of bag of chips peters out after that, thus, revealing the actual, intended by chip bag, purpose of it's comment contribution.....to witless, union bashing.
The management breed, of which chippy bag, aka, baggy chip, aka, big dog crunch munch, appears to be spawned from, are always found to be critical of those they "manage" and never fond of looking in a mirror to see the source of all failures.
Well, chip bag bunky, feel free to show all of them bums just what you learned back in that boarding school......why, you might even make YouTube.......
