Special Ed Countdown

  • African-American aldermen who are among Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson’s staunchest supporters were stunned and outraged by the superintendent’s decision to back a Chicago police officer who fatally shot two people in 2015.

Ald. Roderick Sawyer (6th), chairman of the City Council’s Black Caucus, branded it a “bad shooting” and said he can see no way to justify Johnson’s decision to argue Officer Robert Rialmo was within department guidelines when he fired the shots that killed Quintonio LeGrier and innocent bystander Bettie Jones in December 2015.
The usual crew of hacks and weasels express all sorts of politically appropriate noises to their voting base and that will translate into non-votes for Rahm. So this is likely the death knell for Special Ed and the announcement for a "nationwide search" for a new police superintendent. They'll drag it out for months of course, but in the end, Rahm will do what benefits Rahm's vote totals.

We'll put the over/under for Special Ed's career at 01 September. Sooner if the summer killing season opens quickly.

Why bother with a search for a replacement? Special Ed never applied for the position nor was he interviewed by the search committee in the first place.

Just stay under the radar and maybe you will have enough change for a bagged lunch. But in the mean I want to see more arrests, I don't do them, but boy my testosterone levels go up when I see an arrest I will be the guy in the squad give you the

"nationwide search": psychological term used to
pacify, placate, and mislead the public that an extensive
search was conducted and the very best candidate was
chosen. May also be used to justify a higher than normal
salary and moving expenses, relocation services, ect.
City limits regulation will be tossed and only the best
neighborhoods will be shown. Starting date depends
on closing of real estate deal. Perks, perks, perks.
Wardrobe, feed bag allowance, city vehicle, security
detail. Anything unmentionable will be covered by the
envelope system. He'll have a 3 week honeymoon period
to absorb background briefings and plenty of time to
memorize the ass-kisser and outlaws lists. Welcome
aboard, asshole.

Just a plain old citizen here. What the hell do they expect a cop...or anyone else to do in a situation where a mental is going to attack you with a bat ? How about these dumb ass alderman and the rest of these fool do a little test. Have someone come at them with a bat and lets see how that turns out for them. Do they just expect a cop to get his head caved in for the greater good of their screwed up constituencies ? I guarantee you if they had the option they would shoot to save their own lives. This is so fuckin ridiculous now.

Do not, for one second, think that Rahm didn’t send Ed out there speaking as a trial balloon. He did the same thing with Corp Council when he had them originally try and sue, much like Rialmo had. Rahm knows it’s a bullshit case and doesn’t want to pay the LeGrier family, but he doesn’t want to run the risk of not being re elected. Sick, evil and twisted. Maybe Eddie can get together with Gary after he gets canned and they can run as a double ticket.

Rahm belongs in jail.

I call bullshit. You have to remember that the officers were going into a situation where the dad had barricaded himself in a room because he believed that the kid was going to kill him. That's the information the officers had approaching this incident, the the kid charged the officers with a bat, then the shooting was justified. It's unfortunate that the woman was shot and killed.

These aldermen are shit starters.

Do the right thing and all the black Politicians/revrunds will turn on him. Even worse would be for him to say something really stupid like people should be held accountable for their actions.

Not that it matters to us. Just make sure you spend your career on the fringes and in the shadows. Lacking clout thats the best you can do. Had ParkLand happened here 20 cops would have been looking at each other to see who the first dummy was to go over the top. They wouldn't be afraid of getting shot. Does anyone believe, for a second, that any of the black alderman would give a rats ass about this case if Quintonio Legrier or Bettie Jones were not black? Of course not. Does anyone think that Ald. O'Shea, Ald. O'Connor, Ald. Mell, Ald. Zalewski, Ald. Reboyras, Ald. Lopez, Ald. Solis, Ald. Moreno (or any other non-black alderman) would be calling for the firing of any police officer under the sun just because they had to shoot and kill a white or hispanic? I don't see non-black alderman jumping to conclusions each and every time that a non-white is shot and killed. I don't even see them doing that when the officer is black and the one shot in non-black. People across this city are absolutely sick and tired that the default reaction of many blacks in the city is to immediately pull out the race card, facts, evidence and investigation be damned. And COPA lost all its credibility from the get go so that is not a useless bureaucracy that will never survive but still cost taxpayers millions. Anyone who thinks this city is moving in the right direction, please raise your hand. Nope, didn't think i'd see one. Sad.

Look at what's happening in Sacramento. People you need to check yourself and basically have a no chase policy, foot or vehicle. If you get into a foot chase it may end badly. In Sacramento the burglar did not comply, ran form police, and had a cell phone in his hand which appeared to be a gun in the dark. Well he ran into his grandmothers back yard, where he was shot and killed. Now the noise begins, because It's not the offenders fault at all, just the racist blood thirsty police, that executed him. Protests, blocking NBA games, etc. Going to end badly for the officers any way you look at it. No job, law suit, and possibly jail time. You can not fire unless fired upon in the US anymore period! Don't put yourself in that situation if you can help it please.

Eddie knows what game to play. Po has to go before the police board and they will find a way to get him fired. It's the old fashioned fire him for a bullshit reason and make him sue for the job. Guaranteed the reasons for his termination will be "officers shooting was good, but conduct while off duty was unbecoming, therefore recommended for termination."

3/28/2018 08:16:00 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

These politicians are incredibly ignorant. They don’t know the law and when it’s explained to them they act like it doesn’t matter. They don’t understand that you can’t just arbitrarily fire guys because it “looks bad.” Shootings aren’t pretty, period. Most policemen never want to be involved in one, but they happen its part of police work. If The Superintendent does follow the law in his ruling and decided to cave to political pressure there would be even less police work happening then we have now.

For COPA to say they found that by the officers last shot he was far enough away from the threat is BS. IPRA tried this in another shooting. Saying first shots were ok last shot not justified. However these Shootings only last for a couple of seconds at most and are all one single action. Therefore if the first shot is justified so is the last shot. You can’t differentiate between shots. These people really are on a witch hunt. Scary times people protect yourselves and your partner.

You can see what is going on in Elgin, where the police shot and killed a knife waving nut case. The black political class and their followers are saying the police should have used non-lethal means and deadly force was not justified. So, we have come down to this; people who have no experience, have never been in such a split second possible death situation are suddenly making the decisions after the fact and trying to ruin a good cop's life and career. Cops now have to wrestle or stun people waving deadly weapons and risk serious injury or death just to appease the liberal class. Of course this is racist as it only applies to the white police and black citizens.

This was a "trial balloon" as they say and wait until JVD is found "not guilty" which he is without any doubt, the only thing people around him are guilty of is "over charging, and for even charging him at all" They will make sure the trail is not until after election so rahm can use the hispanics with the illegal id cards being printed so they can vote for him,as he allows his clerk anna to do this and sweeten the deal with freebies compliments of over burdened over taxed Chicago taxpayers! Those of us in the law enforcement community know this was a good shoot. Backed by facts that COPA and the department refused to release, instead they try and railroad this PO. because of the political climate and agenda for doing his job exactly as he should’ve done it. The bad guy, or mental, was killed , the lady was accidentally killed. Oh well it happens tragic yes, but it was accidental and unavoidable. The blame needs to be on the mental offender and his family not the officer. Thank you Officer for eliminating the lethal threat on our society, and our fellow Officers. I am happy you are alive !! Thank you Superintendant for having the balls to speak the TRUTH !!

For those that REFUSE to believe the facts ( politicians, black alderman, black lives matter, the hood , liberals) , here’s an example to have your like minds better understand,
Your driving your vehicle and get rear ended by another vehicle, your side view mirror gets thrown from the scene and hits an opposite race mental 20 yr old at the bus stop and kills him . Did you intend for that mirror to Kill that person or was it an accident ? It’s your car, your mirror , your operating the vehicle, you should know that the mirror may fly off in an accident and become dangerous. Yep, kid dead but at the end of the day , it’s just an accident .

At first glance it appears like a bad thing for the mayor to antagonize his core constituency of welfare recipients and criminals but he may have to make some appeal to the taxpayers as well to get reelected. By having his mouthpiece do it if it backfires he can always act like he had nothing to do with it.

These "national searches" always piss me off. Here's why:

* They cost boatloads to retained recruiters. Expenses, retainer of at least $50,000 + a placement fee if that person stays at least 90 days.

* We don't have **ANYONE** that can be promoted from within? If not, that's a piss poor succession plan that's in place. Is one in place? If not, why? If so, why is't someone internally being groomed and ready to go? I can understand if a tragic accident took out the Super. and the "groomie" at once, but normally? WTF.

* Getting people from outside = moving expenses, housing allowance (starts out temporary, usually becomes permanent), vehicle allowance, higher salary to "attract" the candidate, higher benefit pickups to "attract" the candidate, extra benefits to "make the candidate whole" (annuities), extra perks to "attract" the candidate, expense account allowance (and if it's not used, the candidate gets it paid out), vacation banking (if not used, it pays out at year end), special bonuses with goals that could be hit with a wet noodle, and on and on and on...

The whole thing is bullshit extraordinare. School Districts are especially adept at this chicanery, and I'd expect that Rahm: The Manipulator would be especially so...

How about they just give it to A.S.? (I kid, I kid).

Well...

If you would "take a seat at the table and lean-in,"
their reasoning is: "Well, Y/T hated US so now that
WE run some thangs an' shit, WE get to have our revenge and
hate Y/T (and everybody who disagrees with US) back."

>Any random poor slob unfortunate
enough in being ground alive in the
gears of THEIR justice<

Anybody, anywhere else, would call the
Police Reform" spectacle in Chicago what
it actually is... Settling political scores.

Anyhoo...

We can make it a game...
"Catch The Leader (Lying)."
"Spot The (REAL) Racists."

Or what this entire situation has
ACTUALLY devolved into...

The adult (political actually) version of a bunch of kids
tearing around the school yard chasing each other with
dog shit on a stick...

Who determines who is "it?"
How is that determination made?
What REALLY happens when somebody gets "tagged?"
And when somebody gets an eye poked out, then what?

>WHAP!<
"Ooooh! Dooky! Yuk!"

>The sound of laughter and running feet
subsiding to the sound of someone crying<

It's how the stinking stuff
permeates all things Political
and Social in Chicago.

There are NO actual "adults"
around to put a stop to this
perpetual grievance/axe grinding
foolishness that passes for
politics and governance.

It's a real-life/real-time tragedy because
reason AND common sense has been shouted down
here in Chicago by the adult children who
"run thangs" according to their long nursed
grudge against society, i.e. the rest of law-
abiding/tax-paying/trying to live peaceably -
everybody else.

...Not to put too keen an edge on this because
some media or outraged "community" dolt with
surely (deliberately) misconstrue in the name
of a faulty narration.

Haven’t you heard? Racism is a one way street in Chicago. Every malady in communities of color is the fault of whitey.

Never has that been more apparent than when I left a municipal police department for a county sheriff’s office. Although I still deal with plenty of blacks and Hispanics because the county is so large and diverse, I deal with more poor white trailer trash now than I ever have. Heroin users, welfare scammers, zero motivation or intent to work. Thier houses are the same shitholes, and they have the same baby daddy syndrome, as you know.. The difference is, they NEVER allege that other races are somehow responsible for their plight. Why is that? Because we have enabled communities of color to place the blame for their choices on whites. Chicago, despite its claim that it embraces all cultures and races, is actually creating its own race war by entertaining the notion that all actions are race-motivated.

“Black Caucus.” Jesus, that should not be tolerated. An aldermans voice should be no more valid or louder because he has black skin. It disgusts me and any black American who participates in such a divisive group should be ashamed of himself.

This would also help because when you point and paint the criminal and most times they relented on their criminal thought if not shot is easier to take! Ok alderman there is your meeting preparation now just do it! Seems the elected just bitch and complain they do nothing because we have way to aldergoofs drawing huge salaries!

A salute to Ed for making the correct determination, however, it is clear he does as TD 9.5 directs him.

That said, what is the intended end result? TD 9.5 tells COPA and Ed how to handle things. To what benefit does TD 9.5 gain for directing both in a manner that creates opposing opinions?

TD 9.5 is an evil puppet-master and every move is orchestrated to benefit him and his efforts to be re-elected, but how does this thing play out? It could be simply said the end result of his plan from this point on the timeline is to be re-elected, but what moves does he have planned between the reality of having Ed and COPA in opposition, and gaining his end goal?

Just a plain old citizen here. What the hell do they expect a cop...or anyone else to do in a situation where a mental is going to attack you with a bat ? How about these dumb ass alderman and the rest of these fool do a little test. Have someone come at them with a bat and lets see how that turns out for them. Do they just expect a cop to get his head caved in for the greater good of their screwed up constituencies ? I guarantee you if they had the option they would shoot to save their own lives. This is so fuckin ridiculous now.

I'd be willing to bet that the city makes enough money off of parking tickets issued by the revenue department that they really don't care if cops issue any parking tickets at all. As for moving violations I wonder how much money on a net basis the city actually makes from them. Money-wise they probably be better off going to camera base systems and not worrying about having cops make traffic stops anymore. That way cops could spend their time going after actual violent criminals. But it's not clear to me that the city really wants violent criminals to be arrested and locked up

With all the Monday quarterbacking on here. What if the police officer didn't shoot the offender and waited for back up and he attacks the woman for opening the door and beats her to death. It's a tragedy that the poor woman died because of the bat wielding fool. The police officer would be in worse trouble. He would be called a coward and would face a whole other wave of discipline and possible charges do to his in action. Being a police officer is a lose lose situation wherever situations like these that happen in a blink of an eye. The firemen are the heros and the police are the zeros. Shit job with all the bs police officers deal with day in day out. Does anyone in their right mind think that this police officer woke up wanting to kill two people no matter the circumstance. This anti-police movement & thought is the direct result of Obama and his outspoken misguided rantings on the police. remember, the beer summit with the sgt ( who taught race and community relations for that dept.) and his encounter with the ivy leuge professor who was lurking around his home trying to get in because he locked himself out. The statement regarding trevon," if I had a son he would look like him". This movement in chgo is to purposely misdirect blame and to raid the city coffers through multi -million dollar lawsuits where the select few feast on the stolen slices of the pie. Now with punitive damages being assessed to officers and supervisors for merely responding to a fellow officers cries for help, we have truly entered the twilight zone. performing pro-active police work now and in the future is dangerous to all involved officers. Leave me off the paper please.

New initiative plan here. All units citywide should load up all the local mentals in the wagon and dump them at city hall with a Louisville slugger. If the lines are too long and there's overflow feel free to drop them off at the tribune tower and sun times building. Lastly, following the multiple calls for a battery in progress officers should use their newly formed force mitigation skills and give the bat wielding mentals space and time while using communication with calming voices to stop the imminent threat.

It is not always the ruling from the state that a cop has to fear, but the ruling from his/her department. You can do something well within state law and still lose your job, especially if your department/city is run by progressives who second guess everything that you do.

Eddie was a stand up officer, and a commander. I think sitting in the Supt seat made him realize how messed up it is and he knows he made the right decision with Rialmo. Now before you leave keep making the right decision on other cases so others don’t get screwed when your gone. Some IAD cases can be cleared but still are sitting while DC EW in IAD makes decisions on how many days an officer takes based on if he likes you. COPA cases we hope you continue to disagree if it’s warranted as it should be, but with IAD cases there is no reason personal bias should be involved. Continue doing the right thing boss.

****

Operative phrase is “makes sense.” It also doesn’t make sense to sell city streets to a private firm then force citizens to pay to maintain streets as well as to park on them and for the city to be hit with an annual lawsuit by said firm to recoup costs for “loss of revenue” for disabled parking, parades, special events, and maintenance of said streets. So you must realize that, in this city, it’s not about what makes sense. It’s about what the corrupt politicians can get away with.

You people kill me...Eddie J doesn't give a damn about 'how it would look' if his wife is made a commander. The so-called 'cheating scandal' is over, and no one got dinged...not a one. You all need to get over it. It's done, and it's over, it won't matter how many times you folks bring that old shit up here. Wysinger got his great pension, and did Gene WIlliams, guess what? They don't give a damn about what anyone here thinks either. They got theirs.
More space needs to be devoted on this blog into issues that some of you may have an impact on improving for the future generations of police officers. Stop dwelling on what's done, and move on. The people you put on blast here really don't care.

If you want to know what brought on the anti-police movement, thank the smart phone. impromptu videos have shown what many of us in this profession have known for many years now: We have an abundance of 'bad apples' that our profession should have weeded out over the years, instead of looking the other way. Now, with bodycams and cameras all over the streets, some of us manage to have our misdeeds captured for the entire world to see, via YouTube, etc.
THAT is why the anti-police movement has occurred, and still has legs. Bad training, and bad supervision have done our profession a disservice.
