Shootout Video

  • The Civilian Office of Police Accountability has released video showing how an off-duty police officer fought off two people trying to steal his car last April.

The incident occurred in the 3700-block of West 79th Street in the Ashburn neighborhood at about 7:40 a.m. on April 20. The men were already inside the car when the officer opened fire. The suspects fired back as they ran away.

No one was hurt and the two suspects got away.
Keep your eyes open, especially in shady neighborhoods.

Be careful in shady neighborhoods? Any area whose zip code starts with 606 is shady.

COPA will say this off duty PO had no right to shoot at these dindus.

You must be a politician with that comment! A lot of things are insured, and there are laws against crime and guns. Should everybody roll over until the streets are running red with blood and everyone gets victimized? Oh wait that's already happening!
This city is a gang infested combat zone!

YES! Problem is on many cars, you put it in Park and the doors unlock themselves. So one has to be vigilant and re-lock them and keep the windows up. I dunno... not much you can do when facing a gun and you don't have one or if they get the element of surprise. You got assholes breaking windows, forcibly entering cars.... If cops and judges are getting jacked what chance do us regular Joe's have? Scary times my friends. As for the "we insure our cars" argument... why should we have to forfeit what we've worked hard for? We also might have valuable possessions in the car. Some not easily replaced. If I'm armed, you can bet I'm fighting back. These assholes have GOT to know this is a serious offense, especially when armed.

**

Did you watch the video? Two offenders approached him, at least one shoves a gun in his face and he does give up his vehicle at that time. He also donates some led and they flee his vehicle. So the fact that you said “one or more deaths” makes me think you’re worried about the offenders’ lives, not the innocent victim, the officer, and that you knew they were armed. So what you’re really saying is don’t drive a nice car or car period? I’m confused by your logic or lack thereof. Glad the PO is alright. Too bad “one or more” offenders aren’t taking a dirt nap - yes, their actions made it “worth it.”

The officer will be adjudged as being "wrong."

COPA will track these "communerty membaz"
down and jump them up about the officer
unfairly using lethal force to thwart their
obtaining a car in which they can exercise
their right to "drive fas' an' feel good behin'

do so are so rare as it is considered "Racist"
for anybody to fight to protect what is theirs.

"It's insured so just give it up..."

2. You know where They are. Drive right on over to where They are, and give your piece of shit car to them. Oh, and while you are there, give them whatever else They want.

3. Try not to soil your panties as thoroughly as you've soiled your brain.

Yes he has great skills except when it comes to gun cleaning or choice of a weapon that might save his life. Lucky this time hope there is not another. Glock would be a good choice, if you keep it clean and filled with good ammo it will work when called upon.

Always with the semi's.

Always with the presumption that you can't have too many shots available.

That attitude breeds things not conducive to the desired result.

There's a reason why advance scouts were sent out armed only with the blade. To make sure they kept stealth uppermost in their priorities.

There's a reason why the most reliable of hanguns is preferred here, six rounds gives you the imbued knowing you better make each one count.

This knowing breeds thoughtful choices. (No, not the pulling your prick while you're thinking it over kind.)

As for those who may offer the "but, it's a war zone out there!!!", argument for the lovely semi's, of whatever make and functional design, well, buddy, this ain't no war zone. If it were, those who've been there would tell you a fucking pistol is your last, desperste resort, after you've burned through your actual war zone ordnance.

Armed only with a knife? Are you serious? I would like to point out that soldiers ours and theres have been using semi auto pistols sense before WWII. If you want to cary a 5 or 6 shooter fine, but I choose to use a pistol that holds more rounds. The Glock I use was tested by shooting 500 rounds before it was cleaned for the first time, not one stoppage FTF-FTE. Now it gets cleaned after each trip to the range and I am still waiting for the first stoppage. I suspect that the problems the Officer had were his fault but at least he knew how to clear the stoppage and get back in the fight. I have had a firing pin on a Detective Special brake thankfully at the range and a hand fale on a model 10 Smith. Either of those would put you out of the fight and that could be fatal.
Well buddy, it's close enough to a war zone for me so I chose to go to war equipped with the best weapon I can legally carry. If I could carry a rifle it would not be a bolt action that holds 5 rounds.

There's this new technology thingy, called a transfer bar.

Ever hear of it?

The Glocks are, as last I checked, effectively double action trigger only, thus, apart from the self reloading, with the feeling induced by same, quite similiar to the revolver. Except, that pesky feeding action of the self reloading the chamber thingy. Affected by, amongst others, gravity, inertial forces, lubrication, mag feeding, ammo selection, projectile shape included, chamber pressure, also related to the inertial, etc.

Sure, an accomplished gunsmith can smooth out many, to most of the issues inherent in the above, and, sure, you can be the accomplished handler of your chosen sidearm.

That ain't the point.

Since the blade only example didn't peak your limited imagination, let alone induce curiousity in just what it might be an example of, aswell as the "six shots and you empty, for the moments it takes to reload, also blew past your wisdom detector, I trust the above will also be similiarly disregarded and discarded by you.

The perceived potential you are confident in requires accelting as likely your own greater ability to miss, and still continue trying.

And you are an accomplished armsman.

Oh, and that you consider an exchange of gunfire to be a "fight", well, what can I say to that that would not be exceptionally rude?

And also disregarded and dismissed.

Ponder that.
