Nice Bikes Rahm

  • Oh, Divvy. What are we going to do with you?

Police are looking for the man who robbed a woman in the Loop early today while he rode past on a Divvy bike. The 35-year-old woman and three friends were walking in the 700 block of South State when the Divviot pedaled up on his baby blue bike around 2:20 a.m.

A struggle broke out when he grabbed the woman’s purse, causing him to crash the bike. After gaining control of the woman’s orange Coach clutch, the man ran away, leaving the Divvy behind. The victim and her friends chased after the man for a moment but gave up. No one was injured.
On the brighter side, for the couple of bucks the victim lost in her purse, taxpayers got a bike back valued at $1,200. She and her friends ought to get a medal.

Put the cameras on the bikes and record the robberies. Then sell the videos to those cop shows. Never let a crisis go to waste.

Hopefully it the next intended victim has a license CCW and let’s freedom ring... I know it’s kind of odd but why should a honest citizen need a license to to excercise their 2nd amendment on the street vs home; while the Supreme Court says constitutionally a person has the right to defend themselves (in democrat havens, you need a license though)... but you do not need a license to speak freely. The same idea you you need a license for free speech.

This argument was not mine— every thing I mentioned about the 2nd amendment was said by the Supreme Court

Ban and confiscate Divvy Bikes. Divvy Bikes cause crime by maiming and killing people. And they are not covered under the second amendment. Chop them up and melt them.

$1200 for a simple coaster brake bike? Why I've seen bikes similar to those sold at Target for under $200.

The Divvy bikes are Dutch built and are made like tanks with the built in lighting. They would have to be for all the use they get. That is why they are valued at $1,200. A Walmart/Target type bike would be trashed by normal use within a few months. signed, a bike enthusiast

Rahm and his Democrat progressive socialists have really pushed all this bike crap, Divvy bikes, bike lanes, bike paths, bike the Drive, bike naked in the Loop. They are getting you ready for after the revolution. Did you ever notice that in China, North Korea et. al. that everyone is on bikes and only the political ruling elite are the ones allowed to have cars. We have been well on our way to this considering the "one party state" ruling class of Chicago. And after the revolution those blue Divvy bikes will be painted red.

Divvy bikes getting stolen and found all over the city. Divvy bikes used in thefts, robberies and a car jacking. Just so you you know, another government program gone awry and costing taxpayers money. Divvy Bikes was created with your tax dollar from grants from the federal government.

Since Divvy Bikes are touted to be so good for all Chicagoans and tourists it's about time Rahm and the rest of the politicians joint the Green movement" and practice what the preach. Take away those gas guzzling SUVs and replace them with the Divvy Bikes. And there would be no shortage of CPD bike officers that could pedal with Rahm. Then Rahm wouldn't have to spend his precious time at the gym every morning. And think of what it could do for Special Ed.

Sophia “I’m friends with the Obamas “ king, the alderman of that area and Burke clouted merit Pigott have blatantly refused to do anything about crime in the south loop. They refuse to address multiple citizens complaints about aggressive begging that targets seniors and the disabled. The caps officer will not respond to any requests. Rahm’s and Kings donors continue to park in no parking zones with vests in the windows in personal cars. There are serious environmental issues at the Essex that king refuses to address. Also park district corruption that also goes unaddressed by king. Her husband is a law partner of Jesse Ruiz. These scum know they are protected by Rahm and do whatever they want. Rahm must be defeated.

I did the math on this before and have just done it again. From the Trib:

The differences between neighborhoods are stark. In the low-income West Side neighborhood of Austin, for example, there are 14 Divvy stations that saw a total of 1,339 trips from July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017. Affluent lake-bordering Lincoln Park, by contrast, has 36 stations that saw 452,727 trips during that time period.

A station in Lincoln Park is renting 33 bikes a day - this is an average. Figure much more in the summer and much fewer in the winter. A station in Austin rents ONE BIKE EVERY 4 DAYS.

This is why we cannot have nice things.
