Nice Tunnel Guy Rahm

  • One disastrous tweet has finally revealed Elon Musk for what he is: a fraud.

Enraged that a British cave diver called his idea to rescue the Thai soccer team for what it was — “a p.r. stunt [with] absolutely no chance of working” — Musk took to Twitter and called him a “pedo.” Just like that, Tesla’s market value plummeted by $2 billion.

Musk has been in business since 2002. His stated goal is nothing short of transforming humanity through his products: his electric cars, space travel, and an underground high-speed Hyperloop system. He has yet to succeed at anything but somehow spins every failure into proof of imminent success. His only accomplishment has been this decades-long Jedi mind trick.
This is the type of ego maniacal madman Rahm thinks can dig a tunnel from downtown to O'Hare at no cost to taxpayers?

We're wondering if Rahm is even going to be around to shoulder the blame for this one.

The modestly priced Tesla Model 3 that is supposed to be affordable for the masses at around $35,000 will cost you around $55 to $60,000 for one that works. Industry analysts are already telling consumers it's better to just buy the $70,000 model.

It is easy to take chances when you get 4.9 billion of our tax dollars. I would imagine that if Preston Tucker got the same consideration Tucker Motors would still be cranking out automobiles and we would never have had a Ford City Shopping Center.
Musk is a fraud, propped up by the government to implement their agenda, just like they do with Zuckerberg.

The Musk Mutt is a cunning creature.

It's cunning is to be found within it's cunning ability to connive public funds like the parasite it is, yet present itself as a source of brilliant illuminations lighting the way to..... The FUTURE!!!!

While, at all times, conducting the very Old School chicaneries of kickback graft, magically disappearing finances, funneled into the monetary version of a Cosmic Black Hole, and sequencial beggings for further public funds to, soon, very soon now, actually show a profit!!!!

Soooooo, no surprise mayor rimjob loves this creature, this Musk Mutt.

The O'Hare to Loop tunnel was so far fetched I don't know how anyone could believe it. Musk said he could do it in 3 years a distance of 17 miles. New York City completed a water tunnel in 2013 which took 40 years and that was 8 miles long. Musk said the skates (passenger cars) would be on a nonstop loop and would travel at a speed of 150 miles an hour every 30 seconds. How would you like to be in a vehicle knowing that the one behind you is doing 150 mph. What happens when you reach the station if the cars are on a non stop loop, are you ejected? And the tunnel company would pay for the entire project, not the taxpayers, right! Rahm knew this project was a bunch of baloney but he used it to fool the voters into believing he was an innovative leader who would transform Chicago into the future.

While I think that adding an express tunnel to O'hare could be a good thing, have we not learned by now that privatizing public assets such as this in Chicago is a horrible idea. Remember the parking meters, the Skyway, or at the State level our tollways? There are many other examples going much further back into our city's history as well. Have we not learned that our local governance is too susceptible to corruption and mismanagement to allow politicians to sell off our assets.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/tesla-shares-on-track-for-six-week-low-after-wsj-refund-report-2018-07-23

Shares of Tesla Inc. TSLA, -3.44% fell more than 5% in late morning trading Monday, putting them on track for their lowest close since June 5. The losses followed a report in The Wall Street Journal saying that Tesla had asked some suppliers for refunds in an effort to turn a profit. The shares traded as low as $292.86. Tesla shares have lost more than 4% so far this year, and more than 9% in the past 12 months, which contrasts with S&P 500 index's SPX, -0.07% gains of more than 4% for the year and 13% in the last 12 months......

Hmm, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Elon Musk both conspired to help each other's erosion of public relations in June 2018... each other pitched an idea to build a tunnel from O'hare airport to downtown Chicago funded by no other Elon Musk who is currently in a rut over the staggering losing value of TESLA shares Mayor Emanuel will team up with anyone and say anything to turn around their downward public relations popularity!!!!!!!

I rather rely on the CTA Blue Line than start a deep tunnel project to be built by another unreliable Elon Musk! and Comapany Mayor Rahn Emanuel!

I have an even better idea, build an enormous subterranean tunnel/city which is naturally climate controlled. Fill it full of those tiny houses and provide free plumbing and showers. Allow the homeless to live humanely and not unsightly and dangerously under viaducts and exposed to our harsh weather. Allow those with skills like barbers or laundry services the first shot at homes. In addition reach out to SHAME Billionaire Philanthropists like Pritzker and Oprah to fund this and put their money where their mouth is. If you provide basic hygiene and clean clothing to homeless they blend in with the general population and are not humiliated or seen as outcasts. It would free up our hideous shelters which could be used to house those with serious mental health issues and receive the care they need and get them back in main stream society.

Over 40 years of Deep tunnel and it’s nowhere near finished and that’s just for stank water to pass through.

If there’s a Contract, a independent citypaid analysis study, an open invoice and no bid then Yes, we need infrastructure Chicago style.
Doesn’t matter who and how one digs a hole but paying for all the costs associated with the likely lies and screwups in never factored in the bid and leaves taxpayers on the hook as always.

Rahm has his select Sock puppet Alderthieve committee very eager to run that tunnel under their Wards...money-money-money.
Eloin can use his Tunnel-O-Matic but guess who’s cousin, nephew and aunties have trucks to move the dirt pile and who’s has the transfer lot to dump and then who has the final destination property all set to receive it.

Can Elon Muskrat finish the burrowing a tunnel for the no-too-sharp City sewer department engineers at the Metra tracks on Devon-Central-Lehigh or is Rahm dragging it out until after the election since he knows he’s not going to win the Ward anyway?
Besides LAZ making free money on those lost parking spots.
Don’t get me started on LAZ’s contract with the city that Rahm won’t challenge.

Whether 'tis knobler of the mind

For the most part I don't mind Elon Musk. PayPal is extremely useful, SpaceX is way better at NASA's mission than NASA itself and for less money, Tesla is dysfunctional but still probably a better deal than Washington's long-threatened urge to directly dictate how cars have to be made, and the Hyperloop proposal is...well, that one's pretty damn useless. It was useless 25 years ago when some fool was begging Tennessee to build one between Chattanooga and Atlanta too, and for the same reasons.

That being said, it's kind of a sad commentary on the situation that us dirty under-40 millennial douchebags find ourselves in when:
-The best role models the private sector has to offer are Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and the now-deceased Steve Jobs
-The best role models the public sector has to offer are also Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and the now-deceased Steve Jobs
-Whether Elon Musk is hero-worshipped a thousand-fold or hated as the devil incarnate seems to depend more on what he says on the Internet than how his companies and customers are doing

7:35 pm great post on the tunnel. tunnel technology is mature and chicago union tradesman have set records for boring tunnels. we have all worked on the deep tunnel since 75 and its as legit as public works can be in this state. its not done yet because its not supposed to be done yet its a mammoth project.all tunnel equiptment is electric, nothing new there. if the ground is stable the actual boring is the easy part. you need drop shafts about every block thru its length. thats why the tunnels are under the rivers( public land ).old timers will remember mountains of dolomite along the expressways that follow rivers all thru the county. it took more than 20 years to move and use that stone. heres where the real graft kicks in as said by 7:35 pm. you will need thousands of trucks on the kennedy to haul all that stone on the kennedy. and lots to stage equip, concrete and rebar etc that go down as the rock comes up.tunnels have lots of shafts, more than likely the alder dorks will buy the lots and gulde the tunnels alignment under them.this is a subject of a book but short answer is no fukkin way is a guy with no underground experience gonna build a tunnel in an expensive congested city in three years. no way no how. somebodys gonna get fukked.......guess who. o/t loved the referance to ford city, played there as a kid when it was abandoned and spent my formative years in the mall before it was destroyed by people from outside the neighborhood. great memories, wish i owned a tucker now lol.

Yes, damn shame what happened to that mall. I grew up a mile from, and now live 1-1/2 miles from it, spent a lot of my childhood in and around that mall but haven’t set foot in there since the mid 90’s. I’ll go to Chicago Ridge or Orland Square malls.

Fond memories of Ford City Theatre’s Pepsi bottle cap show, bring 6 bottle caps and get in free to see Don Knotts in The Incredible Mr. Limpet, or The Ghost and Mr. Chicken “that-a-boy Luther”. The restaurants, Harvest House, Tally Ho, Tally’s Pub, Orange Julius, Johns Garage. Peacock Alley opened up I think around 1970, remember the Pagoda House headshop at bottom of stairway.

Carnival by the Ford Dealership, I think it was Murphy Ford. Ford City Banks Jack Wheeler t shirts, Millionaires Club. Bowling on Saturday morning in league then playing pinball afterwards in the game room, video games weren’t invented yet. Played in Bogan Baseball league, majors played at Ford City Field 76th & Pulaski, it had an outfield fence, grass infield not like Bogans dirt infield filled with rocks and glass, and a concession stand selling hotdogs, pop, chips, candy, and above that was an announcers booth, a high class operation we thought. Daley College is there now. Ford City Drive the with the overpasses on Cicero and Pulaski, we’d slide down the grass embankment and played a few pick up ball games inside that circular drive, this was before the firehouse on Pulaski was built.
Time marches on.
