- Chicago has found itself at the top of a ranking that residents likely won’t be too thrilled to read about.
According to Renthop, Chicago is the “rat capital” of America, with over 50,000 rat-related complaints last year.
The data compiled by the website shows a 55 percent increase in rat complaints over the last four years, with nearly 2000 complaints per 100,000 residents in 2017.
The worst neighborhoods in Chicago for rats are Logan Square, Englewood, and West Ridge, according to the website.
Somehow City Hall escaped the neighborhood rankings.

rahm has failed at every aspect of leading this city. Rats are seen everywhere in the past few years in a way that they never were before. I was born and raised in this city and it wasn't this bad in the 70s. Remember rahm tried dry ice instead of poison, to be humane to the rats. The result is they have multiplied everywhere. rahm has been the cause of plagues upon the city, including violence and rats. Look for Lake Michigan and the Chicago River to turn to blood under his continued leadership.

Well, Englewood is accurate, via there are a ton of rats.
Logan Square, probably just that the residents there are wanton complainers, retardedly believing that they are special.
As for west ridge, the abundance of third world imports occupying all those multi unit albatroses begat their third world habits.

I live on the northwest side and walk the dogs at night. We see racoons, possums, skunks and rabbits but have never seen rats. I remember working the south and west sides and you had to look at the ground before you got out of the squad so if you put your foot down you did'nt get bit. The rats were scurrying everywhere.
The city council is full of the two-legged variety.

Ive worked in these neighborhoods and the people are "PIGS"! There garbage is overflowing and all over the alley...what else did you think was going to happen. Keep the garbage in the cans with CLOSED lids and clean up around your place...dont expect the city to do it for you.
The ghetto neighborhoods are just as bad, they throw their trash in the streets, like Mc donalds bags and everything else so its a no wonder the little creatures visit. Sleep in the bed you make!

Several years ago the City quietly decimated its Rodent baiting services, stopped using rodenticide that works (remember the dry ice?) stopped baiting alleys regularly. Residents can no longer purchase /effective/ rodenticide in the city (Phase 1). Now they are tracking the rat complaints and publishing the “Chicago rat capital of the world” stories in the news to bring awareness. (Phase 2). Come election time, the Pied Piper will enter and say that the only way to fight this will be payment for services. Here is what’s to come (Phase 3):
Rat Fee
Chicago residences, which receive Rodent Baiting provided by Chicago’s Bureau of Rodent Control, pay a rat fee of $9.50 per month per dwelling unit. The fee will pay for a portion of the costs associated with the investigation of every reported rat sighting, inspection of alleys, and placement of rodenticide provided to these residences. The rat fee appears on a unified utility bill for City-provided water, sewer, garbage services and water-sewer tax charges. The unified utility bill allows residents to receive one bill and make one payment each billing cycle, eliminating multiple payments or separate bills for City-provided services and charges. This unified utility bill will continue to match the resident’s current water and sewer billing schedule.

Not to worry, Rahm's on it. As everyone knows, Tiny Dancer is famous for this oft repeated quote: "Never let a crisis go to waste." That holds true for this too.
*Rumor has it* that when Rahm got this news, he immediately jumped into action. What other mere mortals would see as an embarrassing problem, the Nine-Digit-Midget saw as a potential benefit. He got on the phone to the Chicago Board of Tourism and ordered them to turn the Rat issue into a Tourist Attraction!
Flaming Tutu's idea is to have all Downtown Hotels have Double-Decker Buses give tours of the Rat Infested Neighborhoods -- but with a twist. For the low price of $25 dollars per person, all Adults (18 and Over) who so choose, will be given a Pellet Rifle and 25 Pellets. As the Bus slowly rolls through the area(s) Tourists can shoot at, and hopefully kill, all the Rats they see. At night time the Buses will have Spotlights to illuminate the Kill Zone.
It'll be reminiscent of the Old West Buffalo Hunts from the Railroads. The Tourists will have a blast, the city gets a cut from the initial $25, and the Rats get eliminated at no cost to the city! It's win-win-win.

The news on the computer listed top 25 cities residents are fleeing from. Guess who was number one? Chicago and after the property tax assessments this year it will increase and become worse next year when the tax bill comes for the increase

As soon as everyone understands rahm cares about rahm,look at the multi-millions he is literally raking in,for giving friends and family city contracts,for things that ruin the city like depaul stadium,city id to let illegals vote for him,bike lanes,and so much more! look at the pathetic barry obama library will make travel difficult for taxpayers who have to get to work. The rats should be fleeing the sinking ship USS Chicago. Maybe they figure that the ship USS Sanctuary City is a better deal. Grew up in Chicago, parents lived in the city until the 1990,s. Yes there were occasional rodents around. If you keep a clean area/neighborhood the problem of rats is minimized.

I live in Jefferson Park and I hadn't seen a rat for over 20 years. Recently they started doing sewer work a block or two away from me and all of a sudden I've seen seven rats in the last week. One was on my neighbor's back porch. Everybody on my block has called 311 and Arenas office and nobody has seen a city crew anywhere out here placing bait or in any way trying to kill the little bastards.

I agree the city aldermen who are like rahm drunken sailors throwing our money down the sewer,they want to pay pander and buy votes $500 per fambly? make them feel good about themselves give them brooms,shovels and garbage cans give them areas to clean up for a week straight if they do good give them $500 if not no pay! Wait a minute aldermen carry enforcement gold badges,let them earn their money and give their constituents tickets for littering and not cleaning up their property! Lol but they are scared really scared just like rats hiding and ducking,unless they see a tv camera then they are visible. You are scaring me. I live in Jefferson Park and for the last month and a half they have been digging up the streets around my house and relaxing the sewers. Guess I will be seeing some rats

Many of Chicago's Sanctuary Citizens are complete & utter slobs. Have to clean up after these pigs on a daily basis. Rats running rampant on the sidewalks in the middle of the day. Walk down Cermak Road between Western and Damen & you could actually smell the stench of rats coming out of the empty buildings. Absolutely shameful!

all the places i lived in shitcago for over 60 years i never saw a rat ever. good citizens clean up after themselves and take pride in their property. working over 40 years in every ghetto and downtown there were rats every where. the common denominator is the ghetto mentallity of throwing everything on the ground even in your own yard. alleys are disgusting. no food,no critters duh. as long as you have that do it for me culture you will have rats. same goes for those roach infested dumps peoples live in. im suprised the rats dont get sick from living in shitcago.

So, first you have to trap the "wild cats".
Then you make it impossible for them to create more wild cats.
Then you put a tracker in them, for what reason?
Then, after all these indignities, you release them back into the "wild" of the city, and you expect them to do what? Stick around in the very area they just got treated so badly in? Survive in the ghetto areas, where even the residents have a tough time surviving? Show up for check off with their nightly tally of activity?

Just leave the "wild cats" to do what they do, without human interference: Hunt, kill and eat, when they're hungry. Sleep when they aren't hunting, killing and eating, because they're hungry. Breed when they feel the urge to. Wean their progeny, while still hunting, killing and eating when they're hungry, then train, by example, their progeny to....repeat the traditions. Some of their progeny will die. Some will live, hunt, sleep, reproduce, repeat.
You want to encourage, attract "wild cats" to be your neighborhood rat killers? Respect the nature of wild.
This is the Design. Not your dumbassed modifications.
Their lifespans will not rival the domesticated cat. So fucking what. Their life experiences will not be the boring, clusterfucking of being imprisoned in a finite space, fed profusely and compelled to put up with their so very human "owners".
You want to help them not die out completely in your neighborhood? Put out a steady supply of water. Maybe once a week, twice during winter, a small amount of dry cat food. Shelter for breeding, weaning and safe sleeping can't hurt. They will find their own anyway. And if that bit of dry cat food attracts the rats.....oh boy, Fresh Meat for Mama!!!!!
See the "wild cats" as you see the birds, squirrels, mice, rats, insects, racoons, possums, and the like. They are wild for a reason.
