I've lived in Chicago for all 75 years of my life. Politics in this town are as slanted as Milwaukee Ave. Even though I have acted as a pretend-democrat as a matter of survival, I have been an under-the-radar conservative Republican all of my adult life and voted as such. It was a matter of principle, but it was about as good as walking up the down escalator. It did nothing to change Crook County and Shitcago, but making a personal change could be detrimental to my well-being. I would not know how to act in a place that was conservative and on the square! A place with fresh air, conservative politics, near crime free and no graft would be a freaking culture shock that might give me an arrhythmia! It would not be natural! No more dropping to city officials for whatever would be like quitting smoking or betting on the horses. Hard as an emeffer! BTW, I just put $100 on Lucky Lady in the fifth at Saratoga! I am not giving up the horses! Be safe out there.

It only gets better. Assessors office mailed out reassessment notices for the northwest side last week and mainly residents were shocked with the increase. Some have gone up 90%. Almost double, some neighbors are talking about leaving soon and those that don’t realize the significance of the property reassessment will be doing it next year when they receive the second installment of their property tax. Near north was clobbered already
