Pissing into the Wind

  • Chicago Police officials announced Friday that officers had made dozens of arrests overnight that targeted the “sources that are leading the gun violence in the city.”

Noel Sanchez, chief of the bureau of organized crime, said that 106 people were arrested overnight as officers executed 21 narcotics-related search warrants across the city. Of the arrestees, 104 are facing felony charges.

Seventy-six of those arrested had been previously convicted, 24 of whom were on parole, Sanchez said.
Extensive amounts of drugs were recovered, but curiously, not a single gun was listed. We guess Special Ed didn't want Google-me using the same picture three tweets in a row. The Department suddenly has 1,500 "extra" officers on hand:
  • Supt. Eddie Johnson said the raids were part of the department’s strategy to tamp down shootings over the traditionally violent Fourth of July holiday weekend, which also includes an influx of more than 1,500 additional officers.
Long time readers will realize how they're getting to the number 1,500 - if CPD hires back 300 officers on 02 July, and another 300 on 03 July, that's 600 "extra" officers. In other words, they're not counting actual officers, but what we'll call "officer-days." Cumulatively, there's your 1,500.

Ed then pleaded for stiffer sentences:
  • For his part, Johnson has repeatedly called for stiffer penalties for repeat gun offenders. Those pleas have come even after Gov. Bruce Rauner signed a bill last year that aimed to do just that.

The Sun-Times found that, since that law went into effect last January, there hasn’t been a single case in Cook County in which a judge has meted out those extended sentences for repeat gun offenders.
Without sentencing according to the laws of the land, nothing will change.

Lol... no guns recovered— down graded charges— more children growing up without fathers— hey I am just toting or spewing a democratic narrative — keep on hunting tact boys, COPA and federal lawsuits are the only thing to slow you down from self destructing

I read the ocd arrests in 002. These are just buy-bust missions where the let the offenders go and now lock them up a few days later. The offenders are also in their 60’s selling to under cover officers. These aren’t the young dope dealers who are shooting

I guess Rahm thinks sticking his half digit in the dike would stem the flow of crime in the city. Sorry Rahm, you need a whole finger and a lot more police. The 1500 extra police you had is just a figment of your corporate thinking imagination. How can anyone believe what 5his asshole says ? Worst run city in the country. Detroit has it all over this town when it comes to government now. So sad.

The whole thing is smoke and fucking mirrors. There was a ton of emails from Sanchez office sent back and forth for the last two weeks beating OCD and literally making them go find area and search warrants. This is unsafe because you’re asking officers to rush and run into a situation blind side just to draw a numbers game and say WOW look what we did. Every sergeant and Officer was disgruntled by this hideous effort. Nothing against Kimble but Sanchez doesn’t know what the FUCK he’s doing and is micro managing OCD. This is the worst I’ve seen in all my 10 years in OCD. Sanchez is a complete Moran.

This is all so pointless. I don’t give two s#&%s about policing or reducing violence. Maybe it’s time people exert some self control and reduce their own violence. Democrats are so afraid to lose their vote they do everything and allow everything with a smile on their face to pander to lawlessness.

But just you wait and see when Governor Fatso gets in office. He’ll ban all those scary black rifles they’re using to target shoot down in Bonfield and peace will break out on the streets. And unicorns will shit ice cream cones on Michigan Avenue.

Yes but then comes the hard part: Finding space to store the convicted offenders and that means more prisons and higher taxes to pay for them.

That sounds pretty darn impressive and that a great job was done. Now for a stupid question and no offense is meant: 'Why isn't that done every week?' I'm serious. If the most violent / dangerous 'offenders' are known, then why can't there be regular raids like this one?

>>>>> “We at CPD will continue to do our part to hold those who pull the trigger accountable for their actions,” Johnson said. “But that’s only one step. We need judges to help punish gun crime offenders and create repercussions for repeatedly carrying guns." ' <<<<<

Shouldn't Special Ed be directing that comment at Cook County's Chief Judge, Timothy Evans? Or maybe most of all towards Cook County State's Attorney, Lil Kimmy Foxx? After all, you can't send an offender to prison for a violent gun crime if they first haven't been Charged with a violent gun crime.

Does anyone care? As eddie famously said "I have more questions than i have answers?" The only thing that counts is backing each other up, bringing your lunch, the 1st and 16th, handing out reports, advising warrants, retiring and getting your pension! Everything else why bother!

Cook county jail doesn’t want to pay to house them. Used to be around 13,000 inmates 10-15 years ago. Maybe there are around 5,000 now. Pretty much an inverse correlation between the jail population decreasing and Chicago crime rate increasing. Several divisions have closed down over the last few years and hiring has slowed. Cook county only wants to convict and house the bare minimum. Chicago streets will “house” the rest.

Peeps in the hoods are figuring out that the judges here don’t do nothin even if you are guilty. Think it’s cuz the city and county is out of cash to keep folks in jail. Folks realizing if the city and county don’t have cash to keep folks in jail anymore, they can commit more crime and not need to worry about jail anymore.

Vote No on all judges.

Tell your family and friends to VOTE NO on JUDGES!
Most don't/won't care, so keep the message simple and easy to accomplish, VOTE NO!!!!

Make it easy to for them to help out by VOTING NO on ALL JUDGES!

If the judges start feeling threatened by the NO votes, then the smart ones will start cleaning their own mess.
If the judges don't want to fix their own corruption and criminality, then throw them out too.

Vote NO on ALL Judges!
