A Tale of Two Districts
Those recently promoted detectives who are being utilized as some sort of mobile foot force:
- The recent detective class was assigned to 001 and 018 to work Michigan Ave. Before anyone starts to talk crap, no one was complaining when it was announced. It wasn’t until they violated the contract, changed DOG’s so they didn’t have to pay for a 6 and 7 day work week.
Regardless, the Detectives show up to 001 for the first day. Pigott’s roll call to detectives went exactly like this: Congrats on your new promotion. We are all adults here. Now, if you get caught sitting down or inside a business to cool off, you will get written up. But hey, for the next week and a half, we’re gonna have some fun.” (reminder, it was 105+ outside)
The Detectives in 018 had the complete opposite roll call. Went something like this: Hey guys, thanks for being here. I know it sucks but we appreciate your help. It going to be a long hot week so try to stay hydrated and cool.
Then on the 4th, in 001. The watch Lt came into roll call and told one of the Sgt’s to take the detectives cell phones and give them back at the end of the day. The Sgt politely declined.
Pigott then rolled up to a corner and told the detectives he was receiving complaints from the Mayor about people being on their phones and that if the detectives were written up, when they got to the area, the area would think they (the detectives) were assholes. No Sir, they would think YOU are the asshole!
Aside from the commander of 001 being a stroke, we'd like the name of that lieutenant who thinks he can have personal property confiscated and held hostage until the end of the tour. Evidently, any sort of intelligence in 001 stops at the rank of sergeant.

Pig heads father was a thieving jag off who should have went to the penitentiary for shaking down a construction company in 018 while a sergeant. The idiot bragged that he was only dumped to 002 instead of fired and/or charged with a crime due to the to intervention of his benefactor and sponsor Angelo LaPietra. Yup, he said it to a small group of us in our tact office. Stay classy Mike, it’s in your dirt floor DNA.

I understand that as a boss sometimes you may be unpopular for making the police be the police. But.... Come on Pigott thinks POs, dets, etc... are recruits. He's not a leader and he thinks he's the smartest man on the dept. Truth is he only cares about pleasing his clout and climbing the ranks.

I remember back when I was a rookie detailed to the traffic division. The lame Sgts would tell us to make sure we have our hats on because the Mayor's bodyguard sometimes drives around and he will call and tell him if he sees cops without their hats on. Yeah right, blow me. Even back then I knew it was a stupid pass the buck scare tactic. Like Mayor Daly or the Rhamfather really give a shit about crap like that. Piggot sounds like another moron exempt that needs an attitude adjustment.
Completely true. 018 brass was the most sincere in opening their doors to us. Beyond that the shit show of exempts messing up the 4th should scare every citizen .... screaming into the radio due to no plan / being reactive instead of proactive. Lucky no one was killed due their daily incompetence.
Not long ago at a large protest that was marching between 001 and 018, a few protesters got mouthy with some officers before walking away. About 15 mins pass and that weasel bitch pigott walks up to us with a protester by his side and states "now which one said it"...Good luck 001 dist officers, you follow that bitch anywhere you are gonna need it..

The above poster stated a real fact back in the day ! The old man missed being charged by the fed' is by the good grace of the Almighty. The family that is and were on the job were and remain total J.O' in all respects to any rank below them. The alleged cmdr is a way beyond incompetent and makes the idiot supt look like Einstein. Truly amazing that this department is totally run by gold stars that have no compassion for street coppers or ever would help a copper in need.

On the other hand, why is it that whenever I see a CPD squad drive by in 8, both driver and passenger have an elbow propped on the door and a cell phone glued to their head? 2 cops, having 2 conversations, neither of them paying any attention to what’s going on. It’s bizarre, how often I see them on the phone.
I would never advocate taking a cop’s phone away but some of these guys and gals are carried away. I’ve seen them madly texting away at red lights and worried that some day some psycho is going to just point a gun from his car and blow their heads off. The cops don’t even make eye contact any more while they are driving around in their blue and white bulls-eye - thumbs flying, they are too engrossed in their phones.

It’s a new department of clowns that never did much in their infamous careers. Merit bosses, etc. Many learned from assholes so they act accordingly, and some are just assholes. What do you expect when the foundation of this job is built on individuals who start a career with no or little life experience, and now they’re a “boss”. There is NO training similar to the real world as you move up. Most are just looking for the next bump up and are only concerned with that, oblivious to common sense.
When Little Piggy made Sergeant, back in the old 010, he was a jag from day 1 (just like in this post). He makes Sgt. with 12 minutes on the job, goes to days in 010. He then proceeds to act like a douchebag to the old Vietnam vets on days. They put that Little Piggy in his place in a heartbeat. Maybe he is still butthurt over that after all these years? Still taking it out on the blueshirts? Get over it, Little Piggy (or stay home).

Couple yrs ago new AC Dets were used as response teams and detailed in uniform down to HQ for the antifa marches, never did any traffic or street comer standing, just waited around in case of any riots, with an Area Sgt.
Also back then, groups did a 3 month stint on 1st Wt. in the Area.
All were on Management but none were ever sent to work as PO’s in a District.
Rahm won’t hire, Exempts won’t clean up their housemouse contingent so it is what it is and pays a bit better too.
Hope Saturday goes well for all the detailed Dets. too, because ain’t no housemouse will be trudging along a protest route.
This new detailing function is the brainchild of some challenged Rahm lackey and not the Bureau.
And I’m guessing it was a former [merit) Det and 4x Merit scholarship Exempt.

If the guy was a half decent boss he wouldn't have said dick about taking a quick seat to hydrate and cool off and/or he would have sent a car around with some water and tell the troops to have a seat in said car for a few, seen it done a few times by some great bosses.

That's the crown of authority and how can people see them without the hats.that is what 1 boss told me at the taste of Chicago when me and my team were working down there on a 95 degree day. I told him that I was thier Sgt and I didn't want them to wear them in the heat and that we always do battle on the 3rd of July. He complained to my Deputy Radke who told him to pass the word around that hats were optional on that night. Mike Pigott and his brother were always privileged and ignorant. Never did a lick of work

I had to work in Uniform on the Fourth of July right after graduating the Academy. I had a really cool Sgt. who brought a box of Pizza to my corner and had cold soda and bottled water in a cooler inside his car.
NO big deal....but I'm not giving up my cell phone. As a back up for a dead radio alone it is too invaluable.
How times have changed...Those were the days....

look at any of the exempts every last 1 of them is clouted! have you noticed Eddie "dude wheres that cheater at" has not demoted any of them,even though most are not qualified to pump gas?
Day off group (DOG) was ALWAYS (M-F, Sat/Sun off) for training for nearly 5 weeks. They "extended" training and used the Detectives for Michigan Ave June 30-July 8th (still the five day work schedule). They changed their DOG to Sun/Mon (Jul 1 & 2) and cancelled the Sun DOG and paid them O.T for day off cancelled. The following week they changed the DOG again to Mon/Tue so they could have the detectives on Michigan Ave on that Sunday weekend. Talk about using and abusing.
I don't see how they can take your personal property for the shift. They can certainly tell you what personal property can and cannot be carried while on duty.
Piget rather jam up a copper, rather then jam up an asshole. He will roll out of bed to come to work to jam up a copper

Piglet was an LT when I was in the Academy. Repeatedly stated in his effeminate voice, “nobody owes you anything.” My impression of him at the time was he was softer than puppy shit and couldn’t imagine him working the streets. Now that I’m reading these comments, it would appear I was right. Apparently people owed him something because he sounds like he’s had a lot of boosts. Terd.
Hit the fucken medical, go have a procedure done and take off the summer.

I used to think that the attainment of rank after patrolman, led to visions of grandeur in the minds of only a rare few that were promoted. I learned quickly that most of the truly asshole bosses were probably that way their whole lives, even before they came on the job. Plain old, everyday assholes. Case in point. Rumblings from the horse unit are that the commander, sergeants and even the senior trainer have been pushing officers to be more upbeat and to, “speak more positively” about the place, when asked about how things are there. When did that become a part of the job description? Could that possibly be why people are bailing out of there? And how many people are getting injured in riding class because they’re being “trained” on horses that are left in their stalls from the day they’re brought in from wherever they came. So horses that nobody trains, are then given to unsuspecting, untrained officers that are supposedly being taught how to ride a horse. Unbelievable? Not hardly in that shit show so it seems and since shit always runs downhill, you can guess where this originated. Classic CPD/City Of Chicago run fiasco. Oh Wilbur......

It is one thing to detail detectives or officers, but a supervisor could be a professional and talk to them decently. No need to threaten, just be reasonable. It's not being entitled to expect decent treatment. No one is asking for special treatment, just fair treatment. Let people get water, etc if needed. Nothing wrong with that.
After being assigned a 5 car crash on LSD, 018 district beat car asks if there were any LSD Units. Dispatcher got upset. Chief Ryan called Comm O'Shea. Lt in 018 roll call had a few words for said beat car. Basically don't give the dispatchers a hard time so KR doesn't call and give 018 bosses a hard time. I swear to God, how did we end up with so many bitches and pussies wearing white?
