For the first time our memory, the Department released promotional lists on a Saturday. At least Sergeant and Detectives.
Expect these classes to be held over as some sort of response force for the JVD trial in addition to whatever other schedule changes take place (12 on/off; 3rd watch standby).
Post the list if you have it.

I’m guessing that’s why they put the list out Saturday and don’t start it until the 17th. so to have all those bodies for the JVD trail. It will be at least another week for the trial to get going and they’ll hang on to the classes as long as they want. Probably until it’s over. PS....some really bad Sgt and Lt merit picks.

Over all, to say the least... the events of JVD/LQMD for the most part control damage could have been minimized right after; however the SCUMBAGS who represents “leadership” (are shit) and let the whole fester into “full blow” cancer. But thank GOD some of them slithered out with a full pension and in another case get a job at NEIU. Congrats. The liberal sacks over there definitely protect their own; no tough questions asked.
In the case with JVD— I told him in 2013 at 7/11 on Archer and Central— dude, take a vacation and get help... overall his supervisor and his supervisor failed him first hand. He will not be the last guy tho.

Patrol: NO days off will by cancelled for JVD trial aside from those where a verdict is expected to be announced. Expect a week’s notice. 1st and 3rd watch will handle the districts, 3rd watch personnel will play an advisory role to specialized units, who will be stationed outside the courthouse with riot gear separately located in the trunk of their vehicles. 3rd watch personnel may also be placed downtown.

Nice to see Robin Robinson's merit pick for Sergeant made it. Bonnie Amado's pick was successful too. I never knew they both worked so closely with the narcotics unit that they were able to recommend people assigned to that unit for promotion.

There’s a heck or a lot of merits making sgt. Love that they constantly round up that 30% to the nearest tenth...
How many people did the commander of 010 nominate and get made ? Not a single person from the 10th district . So just that I'm clear , the commander of 010 does not think that a single policeman is worthy of a merit promotion from his own district . If I worked in 010 I would bring in zero ! I would leave the tact teams and have them fill the teams by reverse seniority. Try and get work out of people when they don't want to be there ! Any officer that continues to do work for that guy is a fool . I feel bad for the people that work there . Look at the old lists people , this commander has used all his picks to help his outside unit friends . STOP WORKING FOR HIM 10th DISTRICT OFFICERS.

These last two Sgt. And det. Classes has opened my eyes they will give those jobs to anyone and then they want to know why the department is in a flux. Way more knowledgeable and deserving officers were available for those merit picks. Hell I got under 10 years and I'm more deserving and done more on the job then some of those merit picks in fact I worked with many of them before good people but no clue about what to do on the street but they can sure do some A and A's!

If your post is meant to be satire please do not read further because I obviously didn't get the joke. If not, well, I just can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that anybody who works a desk would not be eternally grateful to be safe inside and refrain from comment about anyone who works the street. If you are so concerned about the dog asses, why don't you join them on the outside and show them what it means to be a worker? Nobody says the bosses should make the dog asses. But even dog asses on the street risk taking a bullet just because they're actually out there. Does it really have to be pointed out to you that you, at your cozy desk, are safe and sound from any physical harm including shootings, stabbings, hands-on confrontations, car accidents? You probably don't have to worry about lawsuits, either. Please stop trying to justify your unwillingness to be on the street by saying you work hard. This department is loaded with armed secretaries and special teams/posts whose limited interaction with the public pretty much guarantees that they don't face the same danger the rest of us do. So please don't insult us by talking about how hard you work.

Good luck to the district that gets TS from 012. One of the most miserable, useless and laziest officers around, and has been like that his whole career. He spends more time on the medical than on the street. He’s going to blow up when he finds out he will be going to 003, 005, or 006 on midnights and might actually have to do some work.

How many people did the commander of 010 nominate and get made ? Not a single person from the 10th district . So just that I'm clear , the commander of 010 does not think that a single policeman is worthy of a merit promotion from his own district . If I worked in 010 I would bring in zero ! I would leave the tact teams and have them fill the teams by reverse seniority. Try and get work out of people when they don't want to be there ! Any officer that continues to do work for that guy is a fool . I feel bad for the people that work there . Just because someone gets put in doesn't mean that they are going to get made. Each commander gets a number of picks. Do the math. There are about 75 exempts. If each gets two picks that is 150. That means that in order for all the people put in to get made merit they would need a class of 500 people. I am assuming you were being sarcastic with this post.

I was stuck working with him for a day over 10 years ago.When I saw the name on list my first reaction was that its gotta be someone else with the same name.On the positive side,hopefully he gets to work for some real Jagoff bosses,because he's going to give someone a real headache.

No i'm not being sarcastic about the 10th district commander not nominating people from the 10th district. It is real easy to prove. The lists are posted on this blog, go back and search the merit picks over the last year and a half to two years and see his nominations and picks. The 10th district commander has put in only outside unit people. I'm not making this up, go back and look. By these pick's or nominations , I would consider it a slap in the face to all the hard working policeman of 10. This commander only looks out for himself. I know him and he thinks he is smarter than he really is. That's my own opinion of the little guy. I'm sorry, but it's hard to take a man seriously when he looks like tattoo from fantasy island. This commander only cares if your Hispanic and that's it. How in the world was he able to nominate a LT. from outside his unit of command ? How does he nominate a detective from outside his command? I would love to see the to/from that he wrote to justify why these two individuals from outside his unit of command exceeds performance from EVERYONE ELSE in the 10th district. Doesn't a commander have to justify in writing why he is nominating outside his unit of command? I believe it is an ABSOLUTE insult to everyone that works there, even the Sgt.'s. Again, I'm not making this up, check the previous lists. Absolutely deplorable. I hope the good officer's give this merit Lt. a taste of his own medicine and when he asks for numbers , tell him " call Gang Investigations" . This guy should not be allowed anymore merit picks outside his unit of assignment. Shame on you commander YOU are part of what is wrong with the Police Department and the merit system. I dare anyone who reads this post to go back and look at the lists and tell me how many people from 10 were merit compared to outside unit 193. There are plenty of officers with stories. They don't all work inside for years on end. They deal with whatever the job and life throws at them and get back out there. Inside jobs should be reserved for officers coming to the end of their career or temporary light duty officers, not someone with a "story." What happened, you didn't get that merit bump you were looking for?

Weird that you say that. Look at the tact teams when the commander arrived vs what they are now. They have all been completely changed because people have moved on. Many have been promoted (put in for merit by him), Many have moved on to Units. I think one entire tact team has been promoted or left to a unit. Quit hating and keep doing nothing and looking for someone to feel sorry for you.
