Pardon Our Laughter, But....
- A person was killed with his own gun Sunday morning when he tried to break into a home in the Hollywood Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.
The male suspect was trying to break into the home in the 5700 block of North Spaulding when he was met inside by two other males, according to preliminary information from Chicago police. During an ensuing struggle, the two males wrestled the home invader’s gun away and shot him.

I heard this was an option that Herbert either missed, or decided not to pursue, but if this was an option, this was a pretty big miss. Maybe a county guy or gal could answer.

Burglar's carrying guns during the commission of a burglary? That persons is no longer a burglar, he's now an Armed Robber and should be considered one of the most dangerous felon's. Armed Burglar's who are carrying a gun, are prepared to shoot the occupant(s) and these male's who confronted him are very lucky.

You’re suggesting that his charges were so severe that he was ineligible to be placed on home monitoring yet he was free to post bond? In your argument, if the charge was the impediment to home monitoring where he would have had much tighter restrictions, why was he even allowed to make bail in the first place? I’m not suggesting that he was absolutely eligible for it, but I find it difficult to believe that nobody has ever been placed on home monitoring after posting bond. I don’t think my original question was that ridiculous. Based on your response, I’m going to guess that you’re not the guy on the watch that people come to with questions or to work through scenarios. Thanks for your time.
