Anyone seen the order yet? We've got a preview:
  • off topic:

    The order should come out today;

    Cmdr Ron Pontecore...lateral to 017
Cmdr Susan Moss....lateral to XO of Area Central
Cmdr Francis Valadez to Street Deputy (Bay retiring)

Good luck 016, Biggane has NEVER been the police. When she was a P/O in 009 her big thing was to write a couple of parkers. She would tell her partners straight out that she doesn't make arrests, chase cars, foot pursuits, etc. Then she made Sgt with a few years on and has been in nice units ever since. Keep that in mind when see comes to roll call and says she wants activity.

O.T.

Reading about the Sgt. Elkins debacle, I noticed the media and the victim's attorney kept mentioning how Sweet Baby had over 30 C.R.'s accumulated during his career. While I'm glad he is getting dragged over the coals, some of you older hard chargers that racked up numerous complaints during your tenures while playing the dope game better be careful. Don't get into any bar fights, or drink and drive. Take Uber. This isn't the old days either where bars had a lot of cash in hand and were prone to stick-ups. Leave your guns at home when you go drinking. You are far more likely to get in trouble with your weapon while intoxicated then you are of stopping some criminal.

Merit: the quality of being particularly good or worthy, especially so as to deserve praise or reward, derived from the Latin word “mereri,” meaning to earn or deserve.

I don’t think anything is legit anymore on this job. My take on promotions past LT is that it’s only happening if you are literally or figuratively in bed with someone higher. It’s not based on merit. We hate merit picks, whatever color they happen to be. The irony, however, being that the department promotes heavily based on “merit,” whereas it is not the right term for candidates. I think I would be less angry if they had merit spots and another category called nepotism spots. It’s less insulting that the department blowing obvious smoke up our asses.

Command changes don’t really affect me, I do the same shit no matter who is wearing the gold star in the building. It can affect the troops if the boss is an overbearing micro manager though.
Also, making command changes in the D will have zero impact on clearances. You cannot force cooperation from the community. Victims and witnesses can be difficult to wrangle and the State wants almost everything to be caught on video.

She is focused on looking pretty and batting her eyes to get what she wants. It certainly worked on the old chubby bosses. She knows exactly what she is doing. He hates it when you disrespect supervisors . Some people hated him in here in 008 but he is fair. From what I have heard he goes back about a year maybe year and a half to see arrest numbers for each mission or tac officer.. to see who is always “assisting” vs. box 1. Good luck with him. Pontecore has a solid background of street experience and was very successful in the 8th district. 017 has been missing a effective leader for several years. Hopefully he can turn things around in the district and unite the street officers. He will need to do some house cleaning first. I have all the confidence in Pontecore to do the right thing and take care of the street officers.

On facebook, "Maureen Bigg-Pas" has just "unfriended" the mole "sergeant" in 015 who legally changed her name to that of "Assata Olugbala" as an obsessed tribute to the convicted cop-killer and escaped fugitive Joanne Chesimard alias "Assata Olugbala Shakur" whose Black Liberation Army was responsible for the ambush assassinations of at least six uniformed NYPD officers and New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster. Add NYPD Officers Waverly Jones and Joseph Piagentini (double), Gregory Foster and Rocco Laurie (double), Phillip Cardillo and John Scarangella. May all rest in peace.

May God help the once proud CPD.

From Ed the puppet:

I wanted to take this opportunity to inform you about recent command changes and promotions that will take place due to the retirement of DEPUTY CHIEF ROGER BAY who has served this department with distinction. Deputy Chief Bay has dedicated 32 years of his life towards improving the safety of Chicago and bettering the Chicago Police Department. The majority of his career has been in the Patrol Bureau where I have had the honor of serving alongside him for the last several years. He will always be a member of the Chicago Police family and I wish him the absolute best in his retirement and future plans.

DEPUTY CHIEF – FRANCIS A. VALADEZ
I have promoted Commander Francis Valadez to fill the position of Deputy Chief - Street Deputy. Most recently, he held the position of Executive Officer in Area Central Patrol and has over 31 years of service. During his career, Francis Valadez has served as Commander in the 10th and 14th Districts. He also held positions in the Bureau of Organized Crime, Money Laundering Task Force and the Bureau of Detectives. He has a master’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Calumet College of St. Joseph and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF AREA CENTRAL – SUSAN MOSS
Commander Susan Moss has been selected as the next Executive Officer of Area Central. Most recently, she was the Commander of the 17th District. She has served the Department for 32 years with positions in the 12th District as a Watch Operations and Tactical Lieutenant, 11th District Sergeant, Gang Team Sergeant and as an Instructor at the Education and Training Academy. Commander Susan Moss attended the Senior Management Institute of Policing in Boston and has a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Western Illinois University.

COMMANDER OF THE 8th DISTRICT - BRIAN McDERMOTT
I have promoted Brian McDermott to fill the position of 8th District Commander. Most recently, he held the position of Captain in the 8th District. He has served the Chicago Police Department since 1994 and has held positions in the 2nd District as a Lieutenant, a Sergeant in the Field Services Section and 4th District, as well as positions in the 22nd and 9th Districts. He has a master’s degree in Computer Science from St. Xavier University and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Illinois State University.

COMMANDER OF THE 16th DISTRICT - MAUREEN C. BIGGANE
I have promoted Lieutenant Maureen Biggane to fill the position of the 16th District Commander. Most recently, she held the position of Lieutenant in the Office of the 1st Deputy. Lieutenant Maureen Biggane has served the Department since 1992 with positions in the Bureau of Organized Crime, Office of Communications, Office of the Superintendent, Bureau of Detectives and in the 12th, 21st and 9th Districts. She has a Master of Business Administration from St. Xavier University and is an active member of the Illinois Bar with a Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School; graduating Summa Cum Laude.

COMMANDER OF THE 17th DISTRICT – RONALD A. PONTECORE JR.
Commander Ronald Pontecore has been selected as the next Commander of the 17th District. Most recently, he was the Commander of the 8th District. He has served the Department for 27 years with positions as Captain in the Inspection Division and the 25th District. He also served as a Lieutenant in the 17th District and held positions in the 25th, 15th, 10th Districts as well as the Gang Team. He has a master's degree in Criminal Justice from Lewis University and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from DePaul University.

I am confident that these new command staff members will build upon the legacy of service and professionalism and continue to make the Chicago Police Department a model agency that everyone can be proud of.

Congratulations and best wishes!
Sincerely,
Eddie T.Johnson

LMAO! WTF have you been smoking or are you being sarcastic!? She was transferred out because the crime in 017 has been out of control! Officers are leaving the District because of poor management by the Supervisors. She may have a good personality, but, she didn’t get the job done and didn’t even make it a year in 017.
Changes are coming and there are few nervous officers and Sgt’s right now that might get booted, work the street, and be Police Officers like they signed up for in the first place. And please, start with the FRONT OFFICE (get rid of the midget), managements on 2nd watch, then CAPS, and down to Tactical Teams.

Everyone on this JOB will eventually have time (years on the JOB)

Why not ask the subordinates to write a paragraph about those you promote?

I’m certain it won’t be nothing great about these picks. It’s time to evaluate

those you advance mr top cop! I bet this department will turn around and be “Great Again”

Actually, the way to "fix" tact nowadays is to kill it entirely. We don't need one baggers, dopw, reckless conduct, and the always helpful tactical tvb arrests. They should all be on the watch, especially the new snowflakes with more time in diapers than on the streets. There's no need for jeans police teams in districts that can't even man their beat cars.

The problem with that team is that you have guys that got dumped from gangs... these guys are disgruntled and were put on a team that has since fell apart. That used to be one of the better teams in the district. Then you got these guys that got on the team thumping there chests about shit they did in gangs , but felt that they did not have to work or come in with arrests the past two years....and were allowed to get away with it . It sucks as a watch supervisor when these guys have no sergent and I end up having them in my log. The same two goofs leave early , sometimes beating me to my car, and leaving hours before there tour is over. There were supposed to be changes in the tact team, but nothing. I hope Pontecore asks around and get to the bottom of this. Only a couple of guys really need to get dumped , and the rest will fall in line.

And that's why we're dealing with body cams, ISRs, a consent decree, and all this other nonsense. When you were on the job, and you scrambled to bring in any and everything, just to get those numbers that were demanded of you by the boss. Quotas and pressure to make arrests lead to bad police work. We don't need that again. What we need is for people to be arrested when they should be arrested, not because you need the numbers. Find someone with a warrant. Safest arrest you can make. A judge already ordered that they be taken into custody. No need to look for anyone drinking or gambling or holding some weed or other drugs. "Go get me some heads" needs to be followed up with "but don't do anything stupid or manufacture heads just to keep your spot." Or just stop with the pressure to get heads. If someone isn't bringing in quality arrests, dump them from the team. They already know they're expected to produce a certain level of activity. No need for a pep talk or threats.

Nagode didn't want her, wanted someone else (J.R. possibly) Al went out of his way to meke things difficult for her and had two different sets of rules... One for her and one for the rest of the area

Nagode is the highest ranking idiot on the Northside. It's perfect because he's a grade A idiot. Let's talk about having never been the police.

Oh yeah, nagode was the biggest nerd suckass in 19 as a recruit.
He sucked CAPS Sgt Looneys ass hard enough and that began his trail into the CAPS office and every meritorious bump since. What a tool.

Congratulations Central. Moss is great! 33 years in PATROL. She gets it!

LMFAO!!! Does that 33 years include the years and years spent in the female lockup in 19????????????????? yeah, she's the real deal! hahahahahaha!

If they're on your log, you're responsible for what time they leave. If they leave before you want them to leave, and you don't stop them, that's your fault. If they do it again, and you still do nothing, that's on you too. Tell them what time they can leave. Tell them if they leave earlier than that, they get written up. If you're afraid to confront them and/or write them up, which it sounds like you are, tell the whole team they're doing the full 9 unless those two leave when everyone else leaves. They should spread the word for you, since you're afraid to do your job. A supervisor is supposed to supervise.

Worked for Moss for years on the watch. Among the best bosses I've ever dealt with, and I've spent years in the ghetto. Smart, knows police work, general orders, law etc... I don't car if she was serving coffee at Starbucks as a P.O., I'll take her any day over the countless douche bags who were the real police and got promoted or didn't get promoted.

That’s a great idea having new commanders who haven’t spent a day in the district deciding management picks. Next you will be telling us they will send a southsjder from downtown to a northwest side district to make managements picks
