- At a heated hearing that offered an in-depth preview of next month’s trial, prosecutors laid out their case against three Chicago police officers accused in a cover-up of the Laquan McDonald shooting — and defense attorneys attacked it as a sham, asking the judge to toss the case entirely.
Prosecutors accuse former Detective David March, ex-Officer Joseph Walsh and Officer Thomas Gaffney of covering up for Jason Van Dyke, who fatally shot McDonald while on duty in October 2014. All three are charged with official misconduct, obstruction of justice and conspiracy.
Over four hours Tuesday, attorneys argued over nearly every aspect of the case, dealing with multiple pretrial motions that must be decided before the trial begins late next month. Judge Domenica Stephenson said she would rule Monday.
There was no cover-up. The conviction alone gives lie to that. There may have been sloppy investigative work, and shortcuts that turned out to be very bad habits, but these indictments were made in order to smear the defendants' credibility for the main event.

Just want to say Officer Joseph Walsh was the BEST policeman I had the great fortune to meet and work with. He was a true asset to the department fellow officers and the city. A dedicated public servant. Its a true shame Joe is no longer around. You are missed my friend, but will never be forgotten. Stay Strong JOE !!!!!!!!!!

Went through academy with Dave great guy, excellent copper the media entanglement,political expediency circus continues forward! Notice how not 1, exempt,not 1 politician, no 1 in the evil "fake news" media cabal has spoken out to end this circus show?
Just to think this complete shame of fake dishonest "showmanship" by the crook county court system,and the democratic "hate the police apparatus" could of ended long ago had the exempt ranks who knew it was a "good shoot" as a matter of fact signed off on it,could of ended all of this by "being the boss," and standing up for the troops. Look how strange the trail was,and how you could see like in JVD case where the bosses were "exempted" from being called to the stand while an innocent coppers life remained in the balance,the clouted political sponsors obviously made sure to keep the promoted goofs safe. Look how quickly like little mice they scurried away,drawing an undeserved 6 figure pension,and some are getting another 6 figure job depriving a deserving person that position.

The media always refers to Rahm Emanuel as Rahm. Michael Brown was never referred to as simply Brown. First name = good guy! Last name = bad guy!

This trial shud be a wake up call to anyone on this job, including detectives. This case has the potential to force any working detective to wake up and just go thru the motions on any case they work going forward.

It's interesting the they don't go after the white shirts....are they not ultimately responsible for what happens in the field??? The Mayor and Eddie who hid the video, I would say that rises too obstruction of justice....just sayin
To the GoFundMe Question. Because there are many other ways to give money to that family besides that socialist go fund me who has in the past taken police pages down and not given the family money. So I’m guessing most smart people are doing it the many other ways that are known to officers besides go fund me.

Never find yourself in a position of being expected to falsify reports to cover for another police officer. Do not allow any boss to pressure you to do something wrong to cover up the truth. These same bosses will desert you and deny all involvement. Just refuse to do anything that is wrong. Let them get a number in you. They won't.
