- Andrew Gillum, the Democratic nominee in Florida's gubernatorial race, said Wednesday that police are going "too far" if they have to pull out a gun, baton, or taser when approaching a potential suspect.
Gillum made the comment on the liberal podcast "Pod Save America," where he pushed back against his Republican critics who believe he is an anti-police candidate.
Well, if you advocate Officers being unable to utilize the tried and proven tactics of generations because some liberal snowflake thinks that following the law and societal norms is for lesser mortals, you pretty much are the anti-police candidate.

As a newly retired Floridian who moved from Illinois a few months ago, I can say that much of the stupidity here is from transplants moving from other blue states. At least in my area north of Tampa, it's pretty heavily republican. If Gillum wins, it would only be because seniors here are worried about republicans messing with their healthcare, and them consequently voting for the democrat Gillum. The anti cop message really doesn't seem to impact people in Florida. Almost everybody is armed here anyway, so healthcare and the economy are the top 2 issues.

Ed Burke to to leave and a Hispanic should replace him. If he thinks Burke should leave (and I am not favoring that pompous Ald.) then Bill Daley shouldn't run because we have too much of the Daley dynasty just like too much of the Clintons and the Kennedys. Give someone else a chance to steal!

But before he spoke he had his security eject a female Jewish reporter so she could not ask him any embarassing questions. You can see it on youtube. He is the subject of an FBI probe and also violation of ethics laws.

Was down in Florida in September and most of October and I will say, this guy has a very good chance of being the next governor in "Republican" Florida. He runs a very slick, well organized, well funded campaign and freely uses the race card. He is under federal investigation, but that's only because he's black...not because of the kickbacks he accepted from lobbyists and such. He spouts the typical socialist bullshit about taxing the rich and giving to the poor and is definitely anti police.
On the other side of the aisle, DeSantis has run a very poor campaign...mistakes from the get go, directionless and unenthusiastic, plus the propaganda sheet Tampa Tribune is all in for Gillum.

All politics are local. Florida is no exception. The issue with him he is scaring the senior citizens down here regarding Social Security. One reason why he is ahead is he like Bennie Sanders are pandering to the minority communities down here. His platform is to give them everything. Free health care, universal monthly salaries etc. I spend 6 months a year here and 6 months a year in the Chicago Land area. His approval rating are very high in the black and brown communities. The town he is a mayor in has gone to hell. Crime is unbelievable there. As far as crime is concerned go to gun shows. At the gun shows they have carry and conceal classes twice in one day. Several years ago I was at a show and heard that a class was going to begin in a half an hour. I went there and to my amazement females out numbered the males 2 to 1. After seeing this every year I go to the gun shows I look and see who are taking the classes. Every year females 2 to 1 males. Moral of the story, one never knows who you are FUCKING WITH.

There are still better places than Illinois. I'd pick Texas over Florida any day. States like Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa aren't bad. Maybe kind of boring depending on what you like, but lots of rural towns with cheap housing and low crime rates and close enough to a city if ya want to make the trip. Of course you have to do your research as some places are much better than others.
