If the city was actually concerned about the suicides of officers, they'd stop rigging promotions and assignments.

Help is out there. The hardest part for me was accepting it. Although understaffed , EAP does a great job. Saved my life. I know of two first responder groups run by therapists who understand and want to help the police. One south, Lauren Breit (lauren@selfactualization.com)and one north, Robin Kroll (www.drrobinkroll.com) Plenty of other good therapists out there. If you have any questions or just need to talk contact EAP or feel free to contact me. Chuck Dineen 001 1st watch

The guy F.E. currently in detective training with the extremely close eyes was all for this. He kept saying “the officers on this department need to get their Act together. This would be a big win if this passes.” Guy is a complete goof. Look out for this one. Might be trouble down the road.

Thinking about this and then President Trump who keeps on the “fake dishonest media,” Trump is correct the media has the ability to paint a picture either happily in favor of law enforcement or in a negative light which they always do to win awards! Personally I have zero respect for media especially when they are democratically owned in the most corrupt city state county in the country! Isn’t it strange that liberal publications have called out all the corruption but the media here is not calling for the department of justice to arrest the real felons the elected democrats who make the cartels look like kindergartens with their massive corruption!

There was a time when details involving a police suicide incident were never published, out of respect for the family.
Newspapers didn't do it.

Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement. “From what we know at this early stage this does not appear to be work-related but ...” This statement bothers me. If it’s so early and you’re not sure, why say it? Have to toe that line. Youre saying it’s just merely a coincidence that another Chicago police officer committed suicide and the job is full of rainbows and lollipops. Friends who knew said it was a messy divorce. Did that have nothing to do with the job either? Working holidays, birthdays, weekends, long or crazy hours with days off denied doesn’t play a role in marriage problems? Low salary and working part time jobs or overtime to cover bills? Nope, not work related. Constant interactions with with death and mayhem? Nope, not work related. EAP? Overworked and understaffed. But it’s not work related. Hey city of Chicago, how about protecting and serving us one time. Nothing is being changed and we’re literally dying here.

This job will destroy you if you let it. You come on excited and starry eyed . You want to save and help everyone. You dream of promotion and you work hard and study hard. And then the reality of this job hits you. It is filled with corruption and political favorites. Incompetents are made " meritoriously." Specialized units are only for the anointed ones. You are going nowhere. You are overwhelmed with disappointment and despair. But all of this should make you stronger. Start putting you passion and efforts elsewhere. Max on the Deferred Comp contributions so you can retire early. You may think that the happiest day of your life was when you came on the Department. But I will tell you that the happiest day will be the day you leave.

You can’t possibly believe that. All the reporters like and respect her. It’s a courtesy the media gives to the CPD until the information is released and becomes public in an obituary. They do the same when officers are shot or killed.

Guys.. see a psychologist for god sakes... I have been seeing one since 2010... I am married, happy... my arrests are null... in other words... a number that does not exist: other offices say my arrest numbers are shit. Enough with the jokes guys— keep on smiling, see you soon

Where do you find one?

10/30/2018 02:26:00 AM
——-

The psychologist I see is in a nearby suburb. He has about 40 years on the job. I was referred to him by a guy who wears a white shirt with a few stars on it. And it was NOT kidney stone. Just a note if you plan to see a psychologist, see one who has years on the job. A kid fresh out of school will have you in a position you don’t want to be in. A person I know was forcibly put in a hospital because the young doctor did not know how to handle the situation. I been seeing a psychologist for 8 years (1 time a week). back 2014 I realize I am not gonna put myself out there because of a paycheck. There are better things in life than this job... for me it my sons. I been married for 15 years. “Love your wife, like your job” as John candy said in “planes, trains, and automobiles.

I would give my psychologist info out, but too many obnoxious people on here might bother the guy. If someone needs it, set up a way I can do it.

Congratulations. Seems to be working out for your. You sure believe in experience and age. A white shirt with over 40 years on the CPD and a shrink that’s at least 65. Experience does pay off
