When my kids attended Skinner it was around the same time Burke had the kid from the drug addict mother. We used to chat and bullshit, never about politics but about our kids. O.T. I was in Implicit Bias this week, and when they discussed the public perception of policing, it was something like 60% + of the public disagrees how police work is done. I asked how the public disagrees with an Oncologist diagnoses for cancer. They told me “Doctors are trained and go through years of school; the public does not understand what they do” at that point I knew this was not worth my time and tuned out. This was a waste of my time and City money. How much did this cost the City (FOIE)? I would the City to give training to help me in my job, not stuff my parents taught me when I was 5.

Our Lt's class had to attend the initial test class before graduation. The Lt from the Academy let it slip why we are having this training. For no other reason than it's free! They needed a training block filled and the ADL doesn't charge for it. At the time we had no idea this was going Department-wide. Same goes for the transgender eLearning course, the one that says a 4 year old boy should be allowed to dress like a girl. It's clearly not made by the Department but it will fill another training block to meet the 40 hour consent decree requirement. Let the indoctrination begin.

Listen, say what you want about him but he learned very earlier on the game was property tax law and the reduction of property taxes. With his law firm and tax appeals he was able to make millions legally. But he was smart, he never voted on anything that his law firm was working on. She sure was. In a prior case almost identical to ours they ruled in favor of the state employees not having the health care reduced was because of the state constitution stated their benefits couldn’t be diminished. So because we had that as precedent, how court the court rule different for us. Simple they refused to hear the case

I heard Burke already made a deal with the feds.
All that he asked for was , when they give him his orange jump suit in the federal jail, he asked for his renown pinstripes on his outfit.
They settled for the typical orange jump suit that all the federal prisoners wear but offered him a magic marker to pimp his duds.
They told him he'd have plenty of time to work on it.
I always thought Burke would either die in office or no longer be able to gerrymander his ward boundaries and lose to a hispanic. I guess there is now a third option--go to jail.
I've never encountered Burke or dealt with him. Guys who have told me he's one of the better Alderman, at least when it comes to personal interactions. I have read here that he was Joe Curtin's clout. If that's the case then he must be kind of a dick. I remember SCC did a thread a few years ago about Burke and how he was mentioned in the book 'When Corruption Was King.'It was a tell all biography by that Cooley guy that was a former mob lawyer that flipped on them. I think in the book he talked about how Burke and his wife were involved with bribing a judge to let some child molester go. As I remember SCC pointing out, if Burke didn't sue Cooley for some type of defamation for such a serious allegation, then there probably was some truth to it. Burke at least seemed to have some functioning brain cells compared to some of the other Alder-Creatures. I'm not gonna celebrate unless this leads to bigger and better indictments.

Burke actually retired as a sergeant, attending law school while working and then paying into the pension fund while on a leave of absence as alderman. Nice deal if you can get it. How much time he actually worked as a police officer is unknown but to him. That mansion that he built off of California surrounded by fences and locked gates received one heck of a property tax =break from out illustrious assessor.

Burke looks upon people as we are all crap. He is privileged and has had something on the Daley clan for years. The city leases him a new Suburban every 3 years and puts lights and sirens on it. He thinks he is a King. When he flies out of our airports neither him or family members go thru security. Flies 1st class on economy tickets. Just ask his driver Ralph who is one of his investigators. PS. How come he gets to have an 8 foot iron fence around his house. Law says 6 foot.

The case is not being handled by ahole Mueller, it’s the us attorney here which does concern me. I think lausch is still too close to Rahm. He has sat on investigations of other dems as has his predecessor Zach Fardon. Time will tell, but I hope I’m wrong. The us attorneys office has allowed the dems like Rahm, Madigan, the Daley’s, O’Connor, Burnett, Van Pelt and others way too much slack over the years. And Maggie Hickey and Julie Porter are no good either. Porter cleared Rahm’s girlfriends Debra Silverstein’s husband the sexual predator and didn’t even interview all witnesses in the so called van pelt investigation. Guess Madigan didn’t allow that investigation either.
