I predict that this Thanksgiving will have at least one person shot and killed in an altercation over who gets the second turkey drumstick. In order, most likely district of occurrence: 011, 005, 007, 006 or 015.
SCC is among things I'm Thankful for.

Prayers and Thanks to all who not only protect us but put their own lives on the line every minute of every day so we may be safe.
If this year has shown us anything it's that those who protect us need to be protected themselves, usually by the court and justice system who far too often have failed to protect the protectors by granting early release, low bonds and a hundred other unsound reasons.

Happy Thanksgiving to that thin blue line and God bless all those sacrificing their time with family to keep us safe. For those interested in donating to the Van Dyke family, l stopped by the CPD Credit Union yesterday and dropped off some cash, didn't even have to get out of the car in the drive through. Nothing skimmed off the top and no shit-for-brains "activist" giving you shit for supporting a woman and her child.
Going against the advise of the pet shop owner, a man purchases a foul mouthed talking parrot. When he gets the parrot home it berates and curses at the man to a point where he loses it and throws the parrot into the freezer.
After a short time he realizes his cruelty and decides to let the bird back out.
The parrot hops out and is extremely apologetic, promising never to be mean again.
The man accepts the apology and thanks the bird.
The parrot then says, “Can I ask one question...what did the turkey do wrong?”
I am a retired po and my son is assigned as a detective detailed to an elite federal task force. I am thankful that CPD officers were able to respond in a measured and yet courageous manner at Mercy Hospital. Even though we lost one of our brave knights a far worse tragedy was averted. Our officers performed flawlessly when they took extraordinary efforts to protect the fallen doctor as she laid mortally wounded. The SWAT guys engaged the offender with precision. There were no wasted bullets or extensive fire fights. In closing I am grateful for how our guys responded and the fact that the department’s Leadership put policies in place which brought SWAT to Chicago, permitted the introduction of carbines, and introduced contemporary tactical training for patrol officers. Superintendent Johnson I salute you for your leadership as it was validated by the response of our Blue Knights.

A very tough week for our city and our cpd family. I'm sure a lot of our younger officers may be second guessing themselves wondering if they made a mistake taking this job. Surprisingly p.o.'s in the commanders office with less time then those denied were allowed to take off. A big fuck you to whoopi wilson who brags about having an affair with a recently indicted cop... Noble matters

Special thanks to all of the current (and past) Police Officers having to work (outside duty) on Thanksgiving Day, for responding and putting up with all the sweet potato pie and drumstick family disputes, something I no longer have to.
Peace and good wishes to the working Police.
Thinking back, after 31 & a day....gosh, how many turkey day domestics did I attend, sometimes 2-3 a day.
Maybe after tomorrow’s aftermath we will hear Jugghaid Special Ed calling on Springfield for stricter Turkey Day laws.
Rahm & Jugghaid haven’t said they’re sick and tired lately or even mention it anymore.
Stay Safe, let the domestics simmer.

I’m thankful for SCC for creating & running this site as a sounding board and a place to stop by for information and more than a few good chuckles!
I’m also thankful that the big guy upstairs has let me safely serve 32+ years on this job and hopefully watches over me for the next 6 months so I can retire.
I’m thankful for this job and for being able to work alongside some of the most amazing people and the bravest humans I never imagined existed. This job has taken very good care of me & my family and I actually love what I do despite the changes I’ve seen along the way.
Please be safe and look out for each other while on the street responding to callls and also look out for each other’s mental well-being too.

File a grievance. If the holidays are given by seniority and less senior po’s were given off, file the grievance. If you choose not to then you are as much of the problem as the Lt.

Yawn. Almost all of the CSA’s in 018 and 019 are people that refuse to name an offender and the hospital has to call the police for a report per the law or it’s a shady as hell “I met someone on tinder and we snorted coke and my pants were off” incident.

I’m thankful for being 50 years old with over 20 years on. Nice feeling knowing you can walk away on any given day. I’ll stick around for the insurance, but there are other jobs out there boys and girls. Your monthly pension will fill a pretty big gap in salary. Not to mention moving to a lower cost of living environment.
I am thankful for SWAT the guys that stand around and do nothing while stilling there uniforms according to some officers. The superintendent doesn't think they are needed but I bet there are a bunch of Dr's and nurses and patients who love them, at least for a few days.

That Lt has to be on the same level with the two time merit hack Lt in 004. Lt Wooten is by far the most clueless person out there. Go back to the academy or caps in 18. You have no business in a busy district. 3rd watch patience is running very thin with you

As a CPD detective who often investigates sexual assaults, your disclaimer is disingenuous, even absurd. The hypothetical that you posed would be unfounded as consensual barring evidence of physical trauma. Rapes by strangers is epidemic in 018 and 019.
Did City Hall direct you to sweep this fact under the rug? What's your agenda? Care to document the CSA clearance rate by arrests while you're at it?
Day Off Holiday requests have to be denied at least 5 days in advance...file a grievance, if not then it is your fault
Johnson is just a puppet of mayor Rahm. Election in February, Chicago will get a new mayor and Chicago will have a new police superintendent.
