Word is the "merit" guy transferred into the D Unit about eight seconds ago so it looked better, especially with only one person coming from the so-called "backbone" of the Department. And they start Christmas Eve, so there's that.

OT... Everyone should check their paystub. It seems the city shorted everyone’s Dec. 16 paycheck. Go to bottom right of paystub and calculate your current earnings. There was a computer error... everyone’s check is off by the amount of your imputed insurance total listed in your earnings column. In my case it was $45.00.

It’s always funny to see these headquarters house mice for more than a decade hidden away from the street but then they will come to patrol as bosses and all of sudden it’s all legit and by the book. Patrol is supposed to be backbone of department but instead we are treated as the butthole of the body. It’s a real shame that 75% of white shirts are complete morons. Luckily there are a very few good ones. But very rare

In 620 never heard/saw/smelt the guy.
It is true, this is the last off this list. The consent decree going into effect requires some changes. A large group of captains will be made who will finally take over the watch commanders duties early next year. The city is tired of the scandal surrounding these tests so the new tests will be developed using civilians as subject matter experts, mainly those from the new accountability division made up of rahm's SJW's. The next Lt's test will be given in June with part two in September. The first class promoted will be before then end of the year. Start studying!!
Douglas is one of the worst bosses in the department. All about the clout and phone calls, doesn't care about anything else. Parker is as about as dumb as they come,couldn't make a decision as a Sgt. Always called the watch commander to ask for advice.

For the unclouted, that means all applicants are rejected except for those with connections. They do not inform you of the mistakes until after the deadlines. Fool proof. This is the same trick they did with a promotional exam in the past; "notify the watch commander". There are several proven techniques for screening out those with out connections. Grieving is a waste of time.

Bob Costello is a standup Sgt. His job as an Advocate was to process members who were to be fired. He or the other (Sgt L.C.) don't conduct the investigations, are not the originators of the CR's or make the decision to fire anyone. They receive paperwork from Corp Counsel (OLA C.V.) and the Sup (E.J.) then process and notify the affected members - that's it. Bob has helped more officers (including me) in his role than anyone I know...the role is necessary and someone must do it. We should be thankful he's in it rather than some piece of sh*t who relishes screwing coppers.
Just my humble opinion with first hand knowledge.

They should have checked the new Lieutenant's credit. New merit Lt while assigned to a federal task force frequently used the government issued credit card for his own personal use. Gas. Ot. Is it true that the shitty is force piloting the 12 hour day in 005 without officially calling it a pilot. If true, 12 hour day is probably coming department wide in 2020. Small suburban departments use it to get more coverage. Also another way to force more retirements. They realize they like the idea of only 2 watches. But 10 hour day requires more people and cars.
Oh boy, lets put this into perspective, someone who never did any kind of criminal investigation in his life other then frame coppers while a sgt at the IAD; is going to Area South to be a boss of a Detective Unit. With a 15% clear-up rate you'd think they would bring in someone with investigative experience. Danger, danger Area South, yellow alert!!!

Judging by all you know, you must be the other Department Advocate sticking up for Costello. You forgot to mention he reviews all the paperwork and presents the case to the Super. He also knows of several dirty IAD investigators and knew of everything they would do improperly just to screw a copper. He obviously didn't try to help too many, because the bad investigators are still there and Costello never said a word. Watch your back if you get him. He will not help you, and has no problem watching you get hurt.

Are you sure about this?? I can’t see Staples making Parker merit. She usually likes workers, unless she owes someone. Plus, Parker worked for Douglas in narcotics.

Parker & Douglas were partners in 021 over 20 years ago.
When they worked tact/gang team they were referred to as Dumb & Dumber. Couldn't find there asses with all four hands.
12 hour shift is the way to go .
Every other weekend off .
Less days of driving to work , putting on the monkey suit and less time dealing with incompetence, merit bosses.

Ot. Is it true that the shitty is force piloting the 12 hour day in 005 without officially calling it a pilot. If true, 12 hour day is probably coming department wide in 2020. Small suburban departments use it to get more coverage. Also another way to force more retirements. They realize they like the idea of only 2 watches. But 10 hour day requires more people and cars.

12 hour day would be great. 3 on, 3 off all the time. A lot more weekends off and you’re only working 3 more hours in a day than you’re already working. Or you can keep the 4-2 where you get what? One weekend off every 6 weeks? This is a no brainer.
12 hour days equal less days at work. Try it, you might like it. Having every other fri sat sun off is great.

SCC it’s amazing when you research or investigate merit picks. I can pick 5 double bites of the apple just from this list of Sgt’s who now are merit Lt’s or above. Parker one wasn’t enough? Oh and a few names that were accused of having the inside scoop to the Lt test.

Don't know where you got your info but Grant from 177 is not nor ever was a lieutenant. Still a sergeant and actually a pretty decent guy.

Get some rest or wake up. READ the post. Grant was merit Sgt from this list above. Comment was that many of the sgt merits were given Lt merit since then. Glad You thing of yourself as a decent guy now go study for the next test.
To..."Judging by all you know, you must be the other Department Advocate sticking up for Costello. " nope but I know him too and he's a stand up guy as well.
OLA C.V. (the true piece of shit in this equation) directs these two Sgt's on al paperwork - they may render an opinion (if asked) but rarely, if ever does their opinion matter. Just an FYI.
Along with Parker, they also gave Sgt. Chris Petis the answers while he was in IAD and he couldn't pass either. So CP is sucking up to Barb in HR for a merit bump. But losing 3 guns, having an EEOC beef and a 10 day suspension pending will not help you get merit Christopher and STOP holding out for Dir. Landowski's job bro - you int getting it.

They gave Sgt. L. WILLIAMS the answers along with CP. She was too dumb to pass the test, so the trade off was to move her from 006 and give her a cushy spot down here in the Headquarters lobby.
They gave Sgt. L. Williams the answers too along with C.P, but she was too dumb to pass the test as well. So the trade off was to give her a cushy spot in the Headquarters lobby so that she wouldn’t tell. C.P got upset because he trained all of the IAD cheaters and they passed him up.
