Let's say you have a truck. No wait, let's say an RV. And you don't want to pay for a City Sticker on this RV because, well, Rahm has been raising sticker fees for years (as Daley did before him) and it's just too damn costly and quite frankly, a hassle. Let's say it's this RV:
What is a frugal resident to do? Well the first thing you do is keep the vehicle away from those pesky Chicago cops and revenue people. You park it in a private lot out in Arlington Heights (UPDATE - We're told this is a private lot at Milwaukee and Wilson, right next to a CFD station):
Now, be sure there aren't any odd political connections you might have to explain somewhere down the line....like companies doing business with the City....you wouldn't want to accept any "improper" contributions:
And be forced to return them when caught:

He can park that bad boy right where Sweet Baby's RV used to be. The only catch is Escamerit might start using it for traveling around the district and campaigning so he doesn't get dumped when a new Mayor gets elected. Just spray paint 'Escamerit for Deputy!' and 'I love Merit promotions!' along the sides and it will be good to go.

For the 45th. he said, "Arena is the kind of guy who is hated by many but loved by just a few more." He said the other 3 canidates cannot amass a combined 50%. He predicts Arena will win with 55%. Stewart is not endorsing anyone, just an analysis.
As I remember from before Arena got a lot of money from the SEIU-Service Employees International Union when he ran against John Garrido. Why do they support this jag? Will Arena smear the 3 other canidates as: "Trump Republicians", "NRA gun lovers", "Anti Planned Parenthood"? "Pro Wall, Anti Immigrant", You betcha!!!! And all the sheep will fall for it.

I'm calling his office to ask why the alderman hasn't purchased a city sticker for his vehicle. I'm also calling several news stations and asking them if they are aware of what the alderman is doing with that vehicle. See I have a pickup truck and pay $200 a year for my sticker,I'm retired let him call COPA on me if he dose not like it. Hopefully others will call his office today to inquire, and be sure to wish him and his staff Happy Holidays.

Upon routine patrol, r/os observed above mentioned vehicle parked in the parking lot at milwaukee and Wilson, in alderJO arenas ward. The private parking lot is south of CFD station housing engine 108 and north of Arlington glass and mirror. Upon further investigation, above posted pictures are that of the same lot. Possibly a clerical error that it was Arlington Heights.

Inspectors frequently write coppers that bring cars to district stations that have out of city registrations.. Per the law,you still need to purchase a city sticker if you live within the city, even if the car is registered out of the city. So yes the good alderman is attempting to go around this law.

If you go on google maps you can find that vehicle parked in the parking lot at Milwaukee and Wilson. Click on the alley on the north side of Leamington and you can see it parked near the chain linked fence. Who owns that lot?
Keep in mind you have the authority to enter any parking lot, public or private, to enforce plate and sticker violations. As long as the lot is not locked and is accessible by the general public, you are authorized by law to to enter without a warrant for enforcement purposes.
You should consider making it clear that the alderman owns the bus. At first, when I read this article, I thought that the local business was trying to avoid paying for a city sticker, and I thought maybe you were making a big deal out of two unrelated events. After reading it a few times, I understand that the alderman owns the bus and the local business that does business with the city is helping him by storing it?

I have a relative who had a business in the 45 ward and he keep getting tickets on his service truck on Milwaukee ave. He had both state and city licenses registered to Chicago and also had a city business license. He called the 45 ward and they said they could not do anything about it. He said he could not afford to keep getting the tickets so he moved his business to the suburbs. He re-registered the vehicle in the suburb and has not gotten any tickets.

Just got a Happy Holidays postcard in the mail today with a photo Arena & family. " From our family to yours". On the back it tells you which social service agencies "in our community" you can support. In very small print at the bottom it says: "Paid for by Citizens to elect John Arena." So they are already starting with the political bullshit. I wish that I could get somebody to do my Xmas cards, what a pain that was.

The Comptroller is aware of this scam, and is working on an ordinance to suspend any city employee that isn’t registering their personal vehicles properly under ILCS to their Chicago Address.
Since, as a City Employee our legal primary residence is In Chicago.

Department policy requires it but the law does not, but that is for sworn officers only. No one else in the State, including politicians can possess a firearm outsode of their residence unless they have a CCL, and at that point they need both the FOID and their CCL on their person.

If the Inspector General's findings recommend termination and the city doesn't launch his dumbass then the union needs to hold a press conference. It's the least they could do considering Phony Tony has caused them a ton of needless work with all the grievances this clown has caused to be filed by police officers.

Chicago Alderman are considered to be Peace Officers within the State of Illinois, that is why they are allowed to carry guns.
Arena will win as predicted. The other candidates must decide who has the best chance of winning and drop out to back the other. If they don't , he wins . Aldermen are Peace officers too. But for a bonus, they can be convicted felons and still carry. Even an order of protection doesn't cancel their gun rights.
Chicago Alderman are considered to be Peace Officers within the State of Illinois, that is why they are allowed to carry guns.

Yes, this is true, for Cook County. I have been told by a states attorney from a county in mid state that they do not honor this interpretation as Chicago alderman do not possess the law enforcement certificate from the state. It would be an interesting test case. Lets see if Chicago alderman can pull that with the cops in New Jersey or NYC . I doubt it.
Still have 1 better in 015. Keep driving your deceased father vehicle to work, who lived in Addison,Il. and died 2 1/2 years ago, park it in the secretary's spot, and never look back. Then scoot in thru the side door, which no one has a key for anymore. (Except supervisors). Nothing like entitled.

I was told by a judge that if you claim a Home Owners Exemption on your Property Taxes here in Chicago, Cook County that is your residential address and all your vehicles require a City Sticker. It doesn't matter that you have a second home in another county or state!

It’s not a “law” - show me the statute. It’s a Chicago ordinance and if ever fought in court it would be found unconstitutional. You can’t make someone pay for a city sticker for a vehicle that never spends time in the city, even if you are a resident. So you’re saying that if I have another house in Indiana, and I have several vehicles I keep in the garage there, I need to buy a Chicago city sticker - because I also have a residence in Chicago?
Well here’s the news. I do have a house in Indiana and several cars that I’ve restored in the garage there. They have Indiana plates and register to my Indiana house. And I only stay in shitcago on random work days - my family lives in Indiana full time, where my 4 kids all go to good public elementary and high schools. And I drive my one illinois plated car to the district. Anyone who takes the “residency” requirement shoved up their ass is either stupid or spends their money on Escalades and jet skis instead of beating the system.

The Comptroller is aware of this scam, and is working on an ordinance to suspend any city employee that isn’t registering their personal vehicles properly under ILCS to their Chicago Address.
Since, as a City Employee our legal primary residence is In Chicago.

At first, when I read this article, I thought that the local business was trying to avoid paying for a city sticker, and I thought maybe you were making a big deal out of two unrelated events. After reading it a few times, I understand that the alderman owns the bus and the local business that does business with the city is helping him by storing it?

OT....what is up with the 965 team in 9 working overtime and only staying a few hours. A lot of people are noticing it and are getting mad. Come in at 7pm and leave at 10....and get paid for 12 hours. Must be nice. Also their new “tact secretary” is really something. Never met a bigger asshole. 4 years on the job telling everyone what to do along with picking her own hours. Seems like it’s overtime for her everyday as well. Bring back Billy, kick AP back to midnights.

I’m on tact in 009 and what this secret squirrel is doing on here is starting drama. What they have left out is that the tact secretary is currently on furlough. Lieutenant asked someone to fill in and that’s all they are doing till Billy comes back. If you’re on tact in 009 and want to act like you never been thrown a bone then you’re on complete bullshit. Alderman are only considered to be Conservators of The Peace if they have completed 400 hours of Police Academy Training. There is only one elected official in the state that has met this requirement and is registered with the Traing Board. BTW, he is not a Chicago Alderman.

Wrong! Alderman can carry per city ordinance. Without a concealed carry permit outside the city they are subject to UUW laws just like everybody else. Thats why they are on their best behavior in the burbs.
Several Years ago I attended a 45th. ward meeting. It was one of the first meetings held on the proposed, "Affordable" "Housing Projects", the alderman wanted to construct in the 45th. ward. As I remember, it was held in a Church on Foster Ave. It was the first time I ever seen the alderman, or heard him speak. There were many people in the audience. They were given a five minute response to the alderman. The people that used the time, were very impressive, with their objections to the alderman's "Projects". I was appalled by the alderman's arrogant,elitist mannerism. One group, standing next to me, apparently, had "history" in attempting to reason with the alderman. Apparently, out of frustration, one gentlemen in the group yelled out to the alderman. He called the alderman, "A D---Head"! At the time, I wondered if this was the best thing to do. Now I understand, why he did it.

Most? Really? I live in the same ward and might see an out of state plate here or there but most? And you do know not every single neighbor necessarily works for the city, but you keep spinning your tall tales.

All Chicago residents driving, parking, leasing and/or owning a vehicle for which they are responsible in the City of Chicago are subject to the Chicago Wheel Tax and must purchase a Chicago City Vehicle Sticker. This includes Chicago residents that maintain their registration outside of the City of Chicago, but use the vehicle in the City.
Just saying , you can write no city sticker parkers on private property. The alder-creatures passed this ordinance about 8 yrs ago.
To any/all the people bashing Lt. Garrido on here: I’m going to bet you’ve never worked for the man. I transferred into 016 and had never met him before I got there. He treated me like a gentleman from Day 1, always friendly, never was that jagoff boss we’ve all encountered on this job, and was always accommodating. A breath of fresh air after the asshole bosses that I had from where I had left. If the man asked me today to do something for him, I would, just because it would be for him. Who cares if he’s on social media more than others. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to follow him, right? Problem solved. He lost the first time by less than 30 votes, and that POS Arena had to have the ward re-drawn so he could win a second time. I have no problem with him at all, and I’d say he’s one of the best bosses I’ve worked for in 26 yrs.
Arena is a total piece of human trash, and needs to be taken down before he completely destroys this ward.

I have a relative who had a business in the 45 ward and he keep getting tickets on his service truck on Milwaukee ave. He had both state and city licenses registered to Chicago and also had a city business license. He called the 45 ward and they said they could not do anything about it. He said he could not afford to keep getting the tickets so he moved his business to the suburbs. He re-registered the vehicle in the suburb and has not gotten any tickets.
