Lightfoot Staying in Race
- Former Police Board president Lori Lightfoot will remain on the ballot for next year’s Chicago mayoral election.
The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners on Monday announced it had found Lightfoot submitted 24,483 valid signatures; 12,500 are required to qualify for the ballot.
“I’m a happy person today,” Lightfoot declared after the ruling.
With that finding, the campaign of County Board President Toni Preckwinkle withdrew its challenge to Lightfoot’s petitions. A campaign representative did not respond to a phone call and email requesting further comment.
So the field is remaining large and the chances of a runoff increase with each name. It's politically expeditious to split the voting blocs into smaller and smaller portions, then try to corner the ones you need to finish in the top two. Lightfoot staying in might hurt Prickwrinkle though. Any polling data yet?

Jacky Grimshaw, who served as a top aide to former Mayor Harold Washington, said "If police and police misbehavior is your issue, then you pay attention to it. If it’s not, what else have you done? How’s that gonna help me get a job? How’s that gonna help me keep my health care?” She also said "some black church folks" are going to be turned off by the fact Lightfoot is a lesbian. But but she is the granddaughter of a sharecropper.
It looks like the Great Unwashed Democrat welfare voter bloc will be split. Is there a normal person in the race?

Lightfoot is the only person with the brains to run this Corrupt shithole. She doesn't hate the police; as a veteran officer, I feel we do need leadership reform and adequate training which she supports. I still don't know if she is open to a forensic audit of the city finances. If she is truly interested in transparency, she will open the books and do something about all the connected spots made for family members, frat brothers and sister and so on. Clean up the dead weight civilians staff across the city that shows up late and leave early every day — two set of connected rules for different folks — nothing on Lightfoot website on how she will.go about combating transparency and reform outside of the sworn members of the police department. If she looks into cleaning up the entire corrupt city, she has my Vote. If not, well it will be Vallas.
Lightfoot and Prekwinkle what they would do about the murders. I know its all the fault of the police and big business but what would their actual plans be. Were closing in on 600 so what would they do.

I'm a veteran officer also & lightfoot would be TERRIBLE just like preckwinkle!!! The department & city both need a lot of things and these two are neither!!! Lightfoot & preckwinkle both need to go far, far away!

There's about eight blacks running for mayor. That will dilute the black vote.
Preckwinkle and Lightfoot should not, by any means, win the election. Preckwinkle will destroy all of city government, especially the police department.
If Foxx loses the next States Attorney election, Preckwinkle will find a job for Foxx in the police department. or city Hall. And residency will be established or waived for her.
Lightfoot will focus on destroying the police department That's her entire platform.
Mendoza is a party hack and puppet of Madigan and Burke. The machine will directly, as opposed to indirectly, run CPD.

No that was Sharon Fairley. She was the last chief of IPRA and the first director of COPA.
Fairley's the ex wife of multimillionaire John Rogers, which is how and why she got her federal prosecutor, inspector general, and IPRA/COPA jobs.
She ran for Cook County States Attorney and got her ass handed to her, despite the endorsement of every major news service in Chicago and Cook County. Which goes to show the clout and credibility the local media has with most of the region's voting population.
She made a lot of media friends railroading police and leaking confidential information to the media.
She's in hiding now, waiting for the next opportunity to run for political office. Voters should end her political career the same way they ended her State's Attorney's aspirations. As vile and evil a snake as you'll find in the political arena-save for Preckwinkle.

Did you read his plan? Part of it was to forego part of your raise to fund retiree health care. Another part was to have active pay a larger portion towards their healthcare. And finally get other plans done they negotiations. The old negotiations. That’s great if the other side agrees and wants to negotiate, city usually doesnt

Lorance Heavyhands was never at COPA. She led OPS a long, long time ago, but was never the leader IPRA or COPA.

Isn't it nice this POS has 10 grand to donate to Uncle Billy but not a dime to pay back the $54,000,000 he got from the pensions which included the $9 million he took for himself for managing the fucking our pensions took. Please remember all this when/if you go to vote in February.

Lightfoot as mayor would be interesting. When she was the head of OPS, she WAS HATTED. She was hated by almost everyone of the Investigators, Black, Hispanic, and White. She came in late and left early. Her daily routine: Come in around 10:00 AM, receive a daily activity report of Investigations statuses, after that she had a briefing with the #2person in charge, read the newspaper, have lunch, and telephone shopping for the rest of her day. She would leave almost every day at 4:00 PM. The majority of black female investigators hated her the most. She had this ATTITUDE that she was better than everyone especially with Black Female Investigators. She looked down on the Black Females. She was arrogant, condescending, and very rude. She promoted team leaders who would do almost all of her work. I don't know if this is coincidence or what one of the only investigators she got along with was a male white. This particular Investigator has been briefing her the going on within unit since the day she left. In fact, this investigator still to this day briefs her on what is happen in the Unit.

Fioretti has always had bill paying issues. Look at the lawsuits and complaints against him when he partnered up with police hating attorney Tony Romanucci.
Been sued multiple times for not paying the help. Romanucci is being sued now for stiffing a fellow attorney for S7000.00.
