Yes, we know the "official" CPD total is short another 40 or so bodies, but the Department lies constantly - HeyJackass is the ONLY reputable source of statistics.

I could be mistaken for a tourist, or a banker, or a suburbanite in the city with his wife for the night.
I’ve been on for a decade, and closer to 2 decades. Worked all over, but when I punch out, I punch out.
And I’ll have to say- within the last year, I have been treated more poorly by YOUNG coppers downtown in 001/018 than I could have ever believed. It’s just sad to see. And even if it’s not me- just fucking with normal people trying to cross the street with the right of way, making people in traffic freak out, snarky and sarcastic comments to people who just want to speak to the Chicago police——- it’s fucking embarrassing.
If you want to be hard, go west or south.
Don’t treat the decent people of the world poorly just because you can.
Leave a good taste in the tourist and suburbanites mouths.
And if you are feeling frisky and want to do some work- you can hit State/Hubbard or the 1100 block of N Clark, but that sounds a little too much like work- might as well keep fucking with holiday tourists from Nebraska........
Make that 5 killed. The death investigation of the mother killed by her son then stuffed in a garbage can in 022. How can the city still classify something as a death investigation even with the son charged with murder?!!
It's funny how many places in America where normal people live have no homicides at all. Here, we celebrate less than six hundred dead.

Yep, these bosses really got a solid game plan in place. All that vri money pissed right down the rabbit hole. Cancelling days off on holiday weekends all summer really made a difference. Holding the line on the 15% time due restrictions really worked. City still a slaughterhouse and we probably would have had a couple of more hundred homicides if not for the expertise of our medical community in treating gunshot victims. Time for a new plan which doesn't involve pissing off the "backbone" of the police department.

True lack of respect,was recently in a restaurant and 3 young skulls full of mush coppers with their uniform on,swearing and just talking loudly another retired copper asked them to please don't talk like that,people were there with families and was told FU, Then they were told that a person was recording they raced out quickly, no names not naming restaurant but come on young boys and girls wtf is wrong, your in a nice area where people on the southwest side respect police,your most likely getting a discount and you had to be like 3 drunks in a bar at some so called college like frat boys.
Enough people actually hate the police you have to grow up,but bet when you got home the star wars pajamas were ready warmed by mom,and the basement have your xbox ready correct children?

I read this hate to say it but can agree, being retired when OTJ you treated people like tourists with respect, and working at the airport if a copper no matter from where needed any type of assistance (Not gutting into how we helped not for the public), it was done. You say your a copper and can prove it via ID, we are family. Saying all that to say this called police about suspicious man by my home had scanner on and the job was coded,as I watched the potential offender standing there, When I called I said I was retired CPD gave my name, called back asked if copper on beat 8-- could please stop by or call me you know the rest so the guy finally left hope he did not do anything to any innocent taxpayers,or hurt a police family! May God bless the coppers who still do the job and take care of each other!

Blame inadequate/incompetent supervision---white shirts make no effort to monitor, mentor or correct the officers. Lets face it- if we can't get Sgts to respond to hot calls to supervise and Lts split their shift and rarely leave the station--expect unprofessional unmotivated officers.

A little off topic but this is a classic , was watching Jeopardy and one of the questions was :
Which state has seen 4 of its last 10 goveners go to prison ?
A contestant knew the answer as the audience snickered when he was correct .
Even on TV this state is the laughing stock of the country .

As a 20 year member of the Chicago Police Department, I would suggest you come south of the river to the 1st District for your entertainment. Here in 001 we are extremely friendly to the tourists and protective. With all the new officers assigned to the watches they are highly visible and ready to assist you in anyway. Many of our officers have earned the title Uber police. Ready to provide a Lyft anywhere in the city if not in a RAP. We are asked for PCI numbers in order to make the district look good at Compstat. Hope you enjoy a little safer redline in 001. We try to push all those bust outs that live in the tunnels, north to the 18th district or back home out south. The 18th district has to deal with so much bullshit and thousands of asshole drunks unlike 001. I think you can see why they get short with people. Don’t judge so harshly until you spent a few weekends in that entertainment district. They rarely get a break from the radio. Tourists and suburbanites aren’t the angels you think they all are. Some actually lose their minds when drunk downtown

With the New Year less than a week away, the 11th District again leads all twenty-two CPD districts in murder as well as Sexual Assault, Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Total Part I Index Violent Crimes and Shooting Incidents. In what district will the next/last murder(s) of 2018/first of 2019 occur?
Using the "official" CPD numbers in above 2:50 PM murder stats post, even odds indicate that it will occur in 011, 005, 007, 015 or 006 versus the remaining seventeen districts.
I'll play the odds. The last murder of 2018 and/or the first murder of 2019 will occur in 011 and/or 005. Give me 3 to 1 odds.
But we are safe according to the 5th floor

A man was shot in the torso in the 900 block of Fairfield close to Augusta on December 15 right before midnight. He was transported to Stroger by CFD.
However, the shooting never showed up in the media or on the Hey Jackass Shoot-o-Rahma for that weekend. Anyone from 012 or Area Central know why?

In 012 a 3rd Watch Lt (former IAD Sgt Seiser remembers well) is part of the problem, not the solution. Yuks it up with the young guys dropping f-bombs like they are in a bar instead of the station. Gives them cars where they aren’t tied to answering calls instead of rewarding the workers on the Watch. The other night one young buck said he’d help another on a call after being asked to do so by the dispatcher. The response via the radio, “Yo. Thanks bro.” SMH.

911 received shots fired calls for that location, so it happened there. I’ll take your advice and call 012.
