But I thought CPD Brass has previously determined weather to have nothing to do with crime. I’m confused.

One of the few times you’ll see the desk crews on the street working, checking parked squads. Never mind, they’ll call in a couple cars to do all the fleet checks....

Fuck waiting for R service, buy a cheap jumper box at Harbor Freight and keep it with you. I just bought a little unit from Costcon$59 00 small so a big cellphone. Works well. Motor maintainance brings out a recharged battery which is shit. Problem is these cars drive around with PDTs on, driving with lights and heaters on going at slow speeds. Millinial coppers dont realize to shut off heaters and let car idle at higher RPM's for a few minutes before shutting car down before going to lunch. But hey, not my job.

You mean not one boss had the foresight to use a house mouse start all the cars up and leave them running while another Mouse drove them to the fuel station? Guess common sense ain’t so common.

Maybe FLOP will negotiate for better batteries for the cars during these current CBA talks with the Shitty.

Perhaps agree to give up Uniform Allowance or Tuition Reimbursement for it.

East bound and Canada goose down, loaded up and truckin’...
I think there’s more R-Men (or persons) than ET’s with half the wait time.
No window wash fluid onboard anymore either.
There used to be a order that admin/desque personnel would have to go out and start up unused vehicles a couple times a watch.
How did that work out, still doing that?

Questione: CPS closed schools yesterday and today for cold.
Rahm has been crying formand on behalf of all the frigid frail tenders out there to stay warm and call 9-1-1 (because 3-1-1 is overloaded and non responsive).
Do teachers still show up for pay?
If there’s this cold climate crisis and First Responders don’t get the option to stay home, why not have the schools open for the feral to keep warm eats those free program lunches and have the teachers come in and run it like a JB Gubmint CPS social service soup kitchen? It might be a bit of a nuisance for the homeless and feral to catch lice or bedbugs, but that’s a risk that happens everyday in schools anyway.

Extending the school year by 2 days doesn’t count as make-up duty for these part time daycare activist teachers staying home for any reason. Have them show up every day to shovel snow, wash windows, blackboards whatever. No free rides.

Back in the day, whenever it got below freezing(0 or whatever)the desk crews were to assign people to start all the down cars and run them for 15/20 minutes. Emergency equipment is useless if it will not start.

Just sayin.....

I love how everyone blames the city and fleet for “garbage cars”. I tend to take very great care of the car I drive on my beat. Always has. Always washed and always cleaned out. Every time I get gas I pop the hood “which is unheard of these days with milenil police” and I check and fill the washer fluid, check and add oil if needed and check and fill the antifreeze if needed. I visually inspect all 4 tires and if it looks low then I check it. Some days if I get another car its destroyed. Crap all over the inside, dirty, no washer fluid, three low tires and quarter tank of gas. Dash and steering wheel picked apart and the door armrest pushes through. We don’t take care of our cars. Hey, this car needs grease and oil yet we put it off because we don’t want a pool car. We destroy the cars and cry when they are in bad shape. It’s not hard. Drive it halfway decent and do the basics to make sure a small problem doesn’t turn into a bigger one down the road.

Actually, the desk crew is supposed to do it themselves, not "assign people". Supposed being the operative word. They usually just blow it off and say they did it. Doesn't matter to them one way or another. They'll be home when the down cars have to be used.

And believe it or not our sgt was still expecting to see some activity at the end of the day. Lol. Fucking thirsty numbers people have ruined this job. Fuck the troops and their well-being. It’s about how you make me look. If an exempt told them to jump off a cliff they would do it in hopes to make the next level of rank. suckasses

AMEN BROTHER! And then, I see on the news that the Park District will host "events" for the little scumbags while their momma and papa (who am I kidding, papa?) who cant afford child care, can drop the little buggers off at the local park. If it's too fucking cold to go to school, then how is it not too cold to go to the park? Like the governor of Kentucky said, we are getting too soft. And really, if it's that cold, it's probably too cold for momma to work her corner anyways. Stay home with your little bastards.

It's a good thing it's not your job, because the heater doesn't do a damn thing until after the car starts. There's no extra load on the battery. What does letting the car "idle at higher RPMs" do for it other than waste gas and time? Are you warming it up so it gets back to operating temperature faster once you start it back up? That's just idiotic. You should probably pump the brakes a few times to relieve the built up pressure from driving at slow speeds, and maybe switch the radio to an AM station to free up some of those Hertz from using the FM stations while driving. Probably a good idea to shift through all the gears 7 or 8 times before driving so they can stay loose. And don't forget to turn the traction control on and off a few times to reset the slipperiness sensors.
