Milwaukee Officer Killed
- A 17-year police veteran was shot and killed as he served a warrant on the Milwaukee's south side Wednesday, becoming the city's third officer killed in the line of duty in eight months, officials said.
Assistant Milwaukee Police Chief Michael Brunson said at a news conference that the 35-year-old officer, whose name has not been released, was part of a Tactical Enforcement Unit.
"This is the third time in eight months that I've had to stand at a podium and talk about the loss of a life of a police officer," Mayor Tom Barrett told reporters. "We need all residents of this community, all residents of this state, to be thankful and appreciative of every single law enforcement official in this state."
The third officer in eight months - Milwaukee is having a very very bad time. Godspeed Officer.

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee police officer was shot near 12th and Manitoba on the city's south side on Wednesday morning, Feb. 6, and later died from his injuries. It's the third such loss for the Milwaukee Police Department in eight months -- after a 22-year stretch with no deaths in the line of duty.
Police said around 9:15 a.m., the department's Tactical Enforcement Unit was in the neighborhood to serve a search warrant for the illegal sale of firearms and drugs. Police said while conducting the search warrant, officers announced themselves as police, at which time the suspect fired several rounds, striking the officer.
Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales on Wednesday night identified the officer as Matthew Rittner, a 10-year member of the Tactical Enforcement Unit. He identified the suspect as Jordan Fricke who has no known criminal record.
Chief Morales said Rittner left behind a wife and young son. He was 35 years old, and a 17-year member of the department. A procession of law enforcement officers and first responders took the officer's body from Froedtert Hospital to the Medical Examiner's office while citizens lined the route to honor the slain officer.
Rest In Peace brother. We have the watch from here.
He did 2 tours in Iraq. This guy was safer there. RIP you g man and thank you for your service. Prayers for your family.
And he served 3 tours of duty!
Milwaukee And Chicago, and Dallas .. get the direction the wind is blowing ..?
RIP
Hats off to the Milwaukee Mayor for his public outrage at the death of 3 officers! I don't know if this mayor or another got rid of a tough on crime police chief there a few years ago?
But whoever did push out the police chief, I am sure, caused the environment that cost these 3 officers their lives!
Deployed with him in 2004. Rest In Peace Marine.
Thank you for all your service Officer Ritter.
RIP Prayers for you.
Chiraq and Kilwaukee.
Milwaukee another great American city that has fallen to the democrats and the P C crowd. R I P officer, Thank you for your service.
Rest in Peace and Godspeed Thank You for your service
Milwaukee has certainly had their share of tragedy relative to the loss of our brothers in law enforcement.
One is too many.
Continue to keep all our members in your thoughts and prayers.
God only knows that we'll need some help from above.
Sad...
RIP brother to many to soon the war on police being propagated by the elected and their media co-horts is despicable and they will have a special place in hell for what they have done!
The last two officers in Milwaukee were killed in stepwells, trying to serve a warrant, each time. This officer was shot thru the door. The other (third) officer died in a chase. 22 y/o.
These SOBs/Bastards have no God, no fear, no value to life, no respect for any rules, discipline, authority, no nothing. The SOBS in the media gloat at stuff where "the police are wrong." Media bias?
The officer joined as a police aide at 18. 3 tours of duty and gets killed in the city. Something doesn't make sense.
The chief knew the officer and was visibly shaken, as was the mayor. Ald Bob Donovan, a law & order guy, looked shaken.
I don't know how you do it. I honest to God, don't.
NOT ILLINOIS. NOT LAW.
One of the talking heads on cable news said that the answer to all the Police shootings is, stop serving warrants.
I guess that’s one way to look at it???
What the fuck!
Rest In Peace Officer! Prayers for his family, friends and coworkers.....
Semper Fi! I'm sorry that after serving honorably for your country we let you down. You tried to keep order in what is now a lawless country. We have allowed an anti police agenda swarm our media and taint our schools. We let you down for letting you be villianized for the uniform you wear. You sir are a dying breed. Giving it all through danger and criticism to protect us. God speed and I will do my best to keep your rightesnouss alive in these mean streets.
Very sad. Heartbreaking for the Officer's family and colleagues in the PD.
Where's all the OUTRAGE and MARCHES when a police officer gets killed ?????? NONE !!!!!
Sympathy to the family and the Milwaukee PD.
My God. How long can this war on cops continue before we have the courage to demand our politicians support law and order?
Rest in Peace, officer Rittner. And peace to his family.
RIP
Rest easy officer, may the good Lord be with your family. The new breed of street thugs are all demented They fear nothing and has zero remorse.
R.I.P.
We lose a hero and the community gets to decide the level of restorative justice.
Thin Blue Line Act H.R.265 mostly opposed by House Democrats and entirely by aclu.
Democrats in Congress are stalling Senate passage with repeated frivolous actions or no action at all on current bills.
Milwaukee’s southside is just as violent as Chicago’s, as Houston, as Baltimore, Newark, Atlanta....etc,etc.etc.

I lived in Milwaukee for years. The worst most violent crime part of Milwaukee is on the NORTH SIDE--not the South Side.
The wake for slain Milwaukee PD Officer Matthew RITTNER will be held at the Krause Funeral Home, 21600 W. Capitol Dr. in northwest suburban Brookfield. Date and time unset at this writing. I would hope that the CPD make a uniformed appearance to honor our Milwaukee brother.
Citizen reader: I don't know how those Milwaukee cops didn't put a pound of lead in the guy that shot the officer. I cannot imagine what it might be like to be in a position where you witness a fellow officer shot and you restrain yourself from unloading on asshole. That policeman was a true hero in my book. Starts MPD at 18, two overseas tours in military service, dead at 35. Heart breaking. I think I should say more but I really cannot get past this as it is bouncing around in my head. Prayers to his family, loved ones and friends. We all mourn his death.

Career politicians who only put their own interests first and pretty darned good actors when there's a camera in front of them.
They didn't dive any of these killings a thought after the cameras turned off and reporters left. Both had good meals and slept well every night because they own milwaukee and are making out like kings.
Gang banger gets killed every one is up in arm's. Police officer gets killed, no outcry and no marches. What's wrong with this picture?
The city of Milwaukee used to be populated by hard-working Germans and Poles. They moved to the suburbs, as the city is now crime-ridden.
So you know, it wasn't even 2 days and WISN 12 Milwaukee (not affiliated with WISN 1130 radio) posted a story on the slain officer!
The story has since been taken down. Here is their "apology."

God rest the officer's soul.
NOT ILLINOIS. NOT LAW.
