- Multiple sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, have stated that a former candidate for the Chicago Police Department is being questioned in connection with Saturday morning’s slaying of off-duty Officer John P. Rivera, 23, and the critical wounding of another 23-year-old man in River North.
CWBChicago is withholding the name of the man being questioned because he has not been charged with any wrongdoing in connection with Saturday's events.
Second, guess who wrote about this murdering jagoff almost two years ago, regarding the dropping standards to hire Rahm's mythical 1,000 officers?

A new recruit, hired by CPD, in the academy, was arrested at the training academy for home invasion. Tried to escape and found to have a fully loaded weapon in his car! So, this is the new and improved Police Department!?! wtf!

Unfortunately, we think that's probably true, seeing as what Human Resources has been pushing through the past few years.
You'd think it was amazing that he even managed to enter the building as an applicant....
So he was arrested for home invasion AND a gun was taken from his car in the Academy lot AND he was convicted of a felony charge in the ensuring months. THEREFORE, he was ineligible to have/own/possess a gun. We're sure this will make for interesting excuses by assorted gun grabbers.

Arrests(Fel or Mis) aren’t a big deal now as long as it’s the right skin color. Neighbor’s kid was rejected by CPD for psych but somehow he’s psychologically fit enough to work for a burb department. He heard all the old timer stories of how fun the job was back in the day. So CPD for him was the only way to go. I kept praying he doesn’t get on CPD and goes somewhere else, thank you Lord for listening. “BE THE CHAIN-G.”

My father's applied to CPD in 1966. They still had the height and weight requirements. He was tall enough at 6'2", but to thin at 160, and could not gain the weight. He was not hired, ended up working in a factory, eventually becoming a manager. But I became a cop, AMD I am glad I did. I don't n would that I could recommend this job to anyone today, though.

You can change jobs. But if you stay, k ow that at 20 years, you feel a weight being lifted off your shoulders, and the rest is easier. That said, find hobbies or activities, or ask others about their profession. I did that for years. Many people find jobs through friends, so don't give up.

Why don't the just set up a recruiting station at the exit door at 26th and California when Kimmy and the judges I-Bond every thug and felon arrested?
Legit, test for the good Suburban departments if you can if you aren’t too old, etc. Get paid well, good equipment, call volume far less than you guys and no one can tell you where to live and as a whole the public treats you much better. One of the few things ( technology wise) that has come put recently that works are these mini-cpic rooms in each district.
On the night of the shooting, 1802s ( the officers working that room) were being bombarded with requeat with information.
Seems the ahooting was caught on video ( using a high def camera). The flash was sent out instantenously and squad cars blanketed the area unitl these two pos were detained and taken to the area.

Judge Claps is up for retention as his term expires in June. We need to take a stand against this spineless judge and not retain him when he is up for election.
It is possible for this to happen. Preckwinkle started a campaign to oust former Judge Matt Coghlan and she succeeded. Judge Claps needs to be held accountable for his actions.

Who cares what he says about SCC? When I was working a beat car I would go to roll call let the Lt talk and then go out and do my own thing. That’s what was nice about a beat car. The culpability lies squarely on the shoulders of Kim Foxx, her office and the cook county court system. Their incompetence to ensure that this guy properly be charged and sentenced for serious felonies is what led to this animal being on the streets. There are few crimes higher than a class X felony home invasion. With prior domestic convictions he got probation !? Are you kidding me. The state agreed to those terms by an irresponsible judge? FOXX needs to go , along with several judges. The judge who ignored a probation violation just last fall with this p.o.s. is none other than Judge Claps. The same guy who was seen on video in the federal building dropping a gun from his pants. He not only dismissed the parole violation, he removed this p.o.s. from home monitoring altogether! He needs to go ASAP.
Now the 1st Judge , Ursula Walowski, who overseen the plea agreement on the violation of an order of protection AND the very next day the home invasion charges that were all dismissed or watered down, is the same judge who ordered an offender held WITHOUT BOND for throwing a snowball through the window of a fellow 26 n Cal judge. Yet she had no problem allowing the plea deal to go through that tossed out a legitimate Class X felony! She is up for re-election next year. She needs to go!

I give Special E credit for not blaming the academy staff for weeding the shooter out back in 2017. He wouldn’t have been on probation in the first place if Crimesha hadn’t reduced the charges of home invastion, agg assault, UUW, residential burglary and violation of an OP to an attempted residential burglary and didn’t agree to a plea of probation. Home invasion against the same victim, when he was on bond.
