So we just finished moderating over 400 comments and this story came up in a few:
- A retired Chicago police officer questioned by an activist at a protest on Monday was filmed defending the murder of of Laquan McDonald, a black teen who was shot 16 times in 2014 by a white police officer who was later convicted of first-degree murder. The controversial video has now gone viral on Twitter.
You know what didn't come up in over 400 comments?
- a name
- a unit
- a place he might have worked
Not a single commentator even hinted at it.

Turns out the this black guy was Jamal Green and he took it upon himself to post it on his facebook page that I was a Retired CPD Cop and said a Racist remark. I JUST WANT TO STATE THAT I NEVER STATED THAT I WAS A RETIRED CPD COP OR THAT I EVER WAS EVER A CPD OFFICER. ALSO I NEVER STATED THAT I WAS A FOP MEMBER AND NEVER BEEN A FOP MEMBER. I HAVE NEVER BEEN EMPLOYED BY THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT AND IM NOT A FOP MEMBER. Im sorry if I hurt anyone. But Jamal Green was way out of his place to think he could say and do anything he wants to me. Guess I was Baited into his bullshit.
And a "major" news agency (Yahoo.com) took the word of a known asshole as gospel and ran with it, not even bothering to confirm the circumstances.
What is the actual truth? We don't know the guy confronted and believe it or not, there are people out there willing to do all sorts of stuff just to be assholes in general. That people are assholes back at other assholes isn't surprising.

the guy said it was first 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then 3 on 1

The FOP and the National FOP should sue Ja'mal Green and Yahoo news to make an example. Sue them for slander, it'll teach both to do their homework before going on a media frenzy. Jamal's videos were shared thousands of times, with thousands of comments which will continue to be shared on other pages and spread to thousands more. The yahoo page reaches millions nationally and internationally. Public apology, donation to the families of slain police officers and money to our FOP, which in turn the FOP can reimburse its members for being affected from the slander. Make a big deal about this the way anyone else would. Make them admit they're wrong publically. Lightfoot will see that Jamal is a liar and cannot be trusted. Once is a national story that the FOP is going after yahoo, the city will feel compelled to comply with our contract demands...because at that point the ball will be in our court. Narrative: Yahoo news and community organizer falsely accused FOP and Chicago police department due largely in part of an unknown man Jamal green as stated was a retired CPD member and current FOP member. The police officers in Chicago already 2 years without a contract are feeling less than stellar about the continued hate towards their profession, the unfair treatment for contract now more unwarranted public scrutiny. It's no wonder Chicago outpaces the national average for suicide.

I watched his live feed and switched back and forth between Green and Jed Brown's live feed. All the two of them did was go up to people and call them racist then try to engage in a screaming match, because we all that the louder you are the more correct you are. It was nothing but race baiting. There was one individual that actually got to Green (no names here) and really pissed Green off. I wished that protestor would have kept it up, it was priceless to watch Green losing it.

This entire protest was a very bad idea, which was going to end this way before it began. We are still painted as racists, and this guy (whoever he is) saying "18 shots" sure as hell didn't help us. If he is actually a retired Cop (CPD or somewhere else) he's an idiot, if he's some type of paid stooge for the anti-Cop groups, yet another reason why this protest was a bad idea.

Mistaking the Department the guy worked for did really cause any damages, and the dude who hassled him is a broke ass. So what could he possibly win in a lawsuit? A box of Philly blunts? A 40 of Mickeys? As the saying goes, 'You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip".

When it made headlines that the Jussie case was “officially” a hoax, it was the first time in a long time everyone in the country came together...united in reveling at the pompous little asshole getting outed for a plot line so far-fetched it gave SNL material for weeks. Black, white, gay, straight, rich, poor, liberal, conservative...we were all sharing a rare moment of comaraderie in our mutual disgust/entertainment. For the most part, everyone was still on the same page when charges were dropped. There were many members of the mainstream media and politicians (David Axelrod to name one) who were loudly voicing their opposition to this...they had bipartisan ears and there was already talk of special investigators taking action to look into violations of ethics...
Then all the sudden the public is inundated with images of FOP members wearing MAGA hats protesting Kim Foxx and the Jussie non-charges. It politicized the rally, and automatically any left-leaning allies we had to the cause either dropped their support of the message or even turned against it (read: media/politicians).
Next rally, stick to the message, and don’t make it a “police” rally. That places police at risk of being baited, not to mention it’s a candy shop for the camera-wielding scumbag extremists who are foaming at the mouth for a viral “racist cops” tweet, or better yet, lawsuit. . It should’ve been a rally against Foxx, organized by a civilian, (even if only in name). And for Christ’s sake, leave the goddamn MAGA hats at home.

I saw jamal and his misfits protesting one day in front of rahms house where about a dozen of police officers held the perimeter. in that formation of a dozen Officers and supervisors was a young black officer who stood 5'8 and had to listen to that lil disrespectful punk spew at the mouth. jamal called him every name in the book to try and bait him. uncle tom, sellout, punk, and a lot of expletives . he doesn't care what color you are he just hates the police. the officer stood tall that day. i was proud of him but saddened to think that the public and politicians let these pieces of shit get to this point. one day he will fuck with the wrong person who has nothing to lose and he will find himself on his back!
This protest was a bad idea. The news conference with the FOP president and 30 suburban police chiefs was professional and dignified. Exactly right. This is how law enforcement should be seen.
Here the counter protesters complaining FOP can't protest Foxx unless they also protest their own members for what they believe is police brutality incidents. What's interesting we don't hear them saying the same about CTU not publicly protesting members who committed sexual assualts against children in CPS. Such a political stunt by them it's ridiculous.
