Everyone's favorite columnist makes partial sense (no links for Mopey):
- Cook County prosecutors must have worked overtime to get “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett off the hook for 16 counts of disorderly conduct. After all, he wasn’t exactly squeaky clean.
In 2008, the actor pleaded “no contest” to a DUI in L.A., and to driving without a license and providing false information to law enforcement. He was sentenced to probation and given a choice of fine or jail, according to the Associated Press.
Apparently prosecutors in L.A. aren’t as star-struck as prosecutors here appear to be. But ordinary citizens seeking justice are outraged over the Smollett fiasco.
“I’m insulted and quite frankly heartbroken that all of this time, attention, detective work, manpower and hours upon hours were spent on this Jessie [sic] Smollett case, yet hundreds of murders go unsolved every year!” Deneen Bohanon-Silmon complained in an email.
Silmon’s 21-year-old son, Andre’ D. Bohanon, was robbed and killed in 2005 and that murder is still unsolved.
Meanwhile, there seems to be a new kind of criminal justice taking shape in Cook County. Rather than going to court, Smollett was allowed to walk away without the state presenting their case. Now Smollett’s lawyers are characterizing the dropped charges as proof of his innocence.
Of course, the police are the bad guys for not solving more murders of "normal" people. You know how to change that Mopey? Stop voting for the "same-old same-old" and expecting something different.
Democrats have never cared about you - only your vote. Figure it out. Maybe that guy who said, "What have you got to lose?" was onto something.

Star-struck OR just totally incompetent??
Smollett should have done community service. REAL community service - like picking up garbage along the Eisenhower or Kennedy for two weeks. (Plus PAY ALL expenses of CPD - 4130,000 or whatever it was)

Everytime someone asks the police why murders aren't being solved the police need to point out the uncooperative witnesses.
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 29-year old woman has been shot and killed in Chicago's Far South Side Rosemoor neighborhood Thursday morning.
The woman was a passenger in a car with her boyfriend in the 10300-block of South Indiana when someone fired shots inside. She was wounded in the back and dropped off at Roseland Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police found an unoccupied vehicle with a bloody interior in the 11000-block of South Prairie Avenue.
Investigators said so far the woman's boyfriend has been uncooperative with officers.
No one is in custody. Area South detectives are investigating.

Even when crime is solved, they only get a slap on wrist.

DAMNIT MAN ......Had the clean the screen after that one
11 years after he got the big DUI break, he ignored
the extreme good will of the legal system and felt
so entitled he thought he could outwit the system.
Recidivism? Yeah I would say so.

Oh yeah, add in federal charges for using the Postal

He's a repeat offender, with the stakes getting bigger
