Pawar Loses
- State Rep. Melissa Conyears-Ervin will become Chicago’s next city treasurer after trouncing outgoing Ald. Ameya Pawar in Tuesday’s runoff election.
The election was the first contested treasurer race since 1999, and pitted Pawar against Conyears-Ervin for the job of the city’s banker.
With 70 percent of 2,069 precincts reporting Tuesday, Conyears-Ervin held 59 percent of the vote to Pawar’s 41 percent.
Remember, Pawar wanted to steal what's left of our pension money to open a "People's Bank" in order to fund assorted bound-to-fail progressive causes.
That the office went to the wife of a crooked Maywood slumlord/dope house-owning Chicago political hack who has appeared on more FBI wiretaps than any other four aldercreatures combined isn't the best outcome, but what can you do?

Pawar is a straight-up total POS.
I hated the bank idea and I hated his other $1,000 a month to select poor families - no restrictions on what they could spend it on.
Pewar’s fatal flaw - and the fatal flaws of many “high minded” bleeding hearts - is he believes that the people he is attempting to help have the same intelligence and values as him. They don’t have 140 IQs and a descent person’s sense of morality. If Pewar woke up poor tomorrow and the government gave him $1,000, he would spend it on life’s necessities. But the people he is trying to help would spend it on anything but that. They would spend it on alcohol, drugs, and crap they don’t need in their lives. Everything but what they would need to either take care of them selves or lift them selves out of poverty.
The citizens of Chicago were fucked in this category however which direction the votes went.

This guy Pawar would have been deadly for the future of Chicago and I bet Lightfoot would not have been fond of him while he circumvents her attempt to fix Chicago’s financial problems and keep people from moving out and attracting people to move in. Pawar and Preckwinkle would have ignited mass exodus. On another note...Lightfoots speach was pretty good. She spoke about stopping people from moving out and growing Chicago. This is the most important thing to all of us. If the working tax base and business continue to leave then nothing else matters.

I opted to vote for Pawar, because at least he's qualified to be treasurer, can add and subtract, and would've followed Lightfoot's lead. Now you've got a stupid person in an important position, messing with the cash.

All I keep hearing is how they are going to raise taxes on almost everything. Why do we never hear how they are going to cut spending?

Ok Prewar lost...good! Lorrie and Preckwinkle should not have had their Unity Breakfast at PUSH. The Trump Hotel would have been better. After all if Unity is the goal.
The fact that Ervin and his racist wife are walking around proves that the us attorney is totally uninterested in prosecuting criminals because they are told by Obama inc to let them alone. The city has now turned into a total shitshow as the victim class is allowed to do whatever. This once great city is going to explode. The current us attorney is no good either. And the Chicago FBI has allowed the dummycrats to run wild for decades.
