I didn’t watch the news, read the news websites, or even listen to news radio today because I didn’t want to get aggravated. It worked, until I read this. God, I hate this city.
I love the total media spin job. There was no viable coverage of the removal of Kim Foxx and the real clear truth.

Never happen, the CCSAO needs to have a 95+% conviction rating so what this would mean is that they would have to do their jobs after the police have done theirs.

Former Illinois Appellate Court Justice Sheila O’Brien said she will personally petition the courts to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s handling of the Jussie Smollett false hate crime case.
O’Brien, 63, retired from the First District Appellate Court in 2011 after 16 years of service. She previously served nine years as an Associate Judge. Before rising to the bench, she worked as an assistant public defender, trial lawyer, and instructor a the St. Louis University Law School.

Foxx sponsored a decision to let a class x felon to plead out to probation which allowed him to be free on the streets (also violated his Electronic Monitoring agreement) which led to him killing off duty police officer. Oh yeah how about that old man Pakistani cabbie who was beaten to death in road rage incident by a Chinese national. It was all caught on security video camera but SA Foxxs office hesitated to file charges. Said she needed to investigate further. Gave some bullshit excuse in legalese language so guess what happened while the victims family is waiting for police to obtain warrant and the have authority to arrest said suspect? Dude flees back to China knowing there is no extradition agreements between US and China. Scumbag is chilling and scott free for committing murder. Felony review was created in 1974 by States Attorney Bernard Carey and Mayor Richard J Daley. Before that all that was needed for felony charges was to contact the detectives who responded and typed out the complaints and felony 101s. The felony charges went with the prisoner and the arresting officer brought the “reducers” which were misdemeanor complaints for the same charges basically. Felony court Br 44 was a circus with at least 6 ASAs who offered the offender a deal on the misdemeanor charge and a few days in the county and you got time due (hour for hour).
I still don’t know if any law that states the police HAVE to go through felony review for anything like felony charges, arrest warrants, search warrants.
The idea and purpose was to reduce the work load on detectives, judges, court personnel and give the States Attorney a great conviction rate.
Why must this always be about race? Who cares if you is black? Dark black,light black, or just black? This is about INCOMPETENCE. No matter the evidence, Prosecutors will ignore the Law and Police are powerless.
Exactly 'who' is the Media? What is their angle in causing civil unrest and strife? Why is the Media being intentionally misleading? Who are these very few Media outlet owners?

The issue is an elected official has violated the law and the ethical standards of her profession and needs to answer for it.
The counter-protesters cannot argue this head on so they deflect and make it about race - the usual garbled, inane, spittle-spraying plaints any time a high profile person of color is attacked, whether for child rape, or date rape, or bloody murders, or you name it - they were only gone after because they are Michael or Bill or Noor or OJ or a "strong black woman" DA. If they were honest, the protesters would admit their outrage has less to do with the attack on Foxx than it does with the station they were born into and their social immobility.
The bad thing is it's not going to get any better until there's some kind of major upheaval and then it's going to get a lot worse before it starts to get better again. The structure you're contending against is too solidly in place. Demographics and economics are against you.

I observed both the pre protest, press conference by Jessie Jackson, Father Pfleger and something called "[Jamal] Green" and the FOP protest against Kim Foxx.
Jessie and Father Pfleger kept referencing the CPD police shooting of Laquan Macdonald as supposedly a racist police murder where the CPD killer was let off with a light sentence. They argued that the Jussie Smolltett case was just something minor and the FOP and the White media should concentrate on all the poor Black and Brown Chicagoans being murdered with the murderers going free.
This is of course a huge, dishonest spin as the FOP, rank and file police and just us regular citizens want the DA's office to stop spending their time conspiring with Obama insiders to fix Black gay entertainers' hate crime hoaxes and instead get back to work prosecuting dangerous felons like Menelik Jackson who was let off a gun conviction and then went out and assassinated a Chicago Police Officer just because he had some disputes with Hispanics.
This Jamal Green creature was a little more direct - arguing that he/they/"The People" were standing with DA Kim Foxx because she was a Black woman and now Black AA were/are getting the mayor's office, Cook County Board Chairman, deputy governor, Illinois State Attorney General - so it was a South African ANC style "Black people are taking over and there's nothing you can do about it".

I attended the FOP protest, which was very well attended and spirited, in a lawful way - could have used some more younger people, but otherwise very good.
I met many, many solid people and promoted this Second City Cop blog also Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog and talked up Alternative news/commentary blogs like Breitbart News, Vdare, The Political Cesspool.

I'm with you on much of this. Smollett should have been tried and sentenced. Anti-police sentiment is based on an overblown caricature of police and causes significant harm in the very communities that complain of bad treatment. The system treats connected and unconnected differently. Those are the main problems.
But by your very admission about retired supervisors, there was an attempted cover-up of the JVD shooting. It doesn't help things when police seem to deny this. Yes, it has more to do with the connected/unconnected issue than anything else. It's worth recognizing that this dynamic does end up hitting minorities hardest (even if it also lets minorities like Smollett with connections skate.)
Also, I can't believe no one from FOP chanted "No Jussie, No Peace!" Missed opportunity.

Voting, voting? This is the first election since 1976, when I could first legally vote, that I’m not voting. One candidate is a black socialist, the other a black sexual defective. Both hate the police. Read Conrad Black’s recent column online in, “Great America Foundation” about where Chicago might be in four years. New Glarus, Wisconsin looks better everyday.
News did not have a lot of coverage and what little there was seemed more focused on the counter protesters. News/TV reporters are compromised and serve no real purpose anymore. Incapable of reporting truth only how they see it. Foxx is a big story but they are either bought off or too scared to bust this story. There are no real investigative reporters in this city anymore. News is a joke in this city.
I know all this coverage about Kim Foxx has been irritating and infuriating. But on the bright side, at least she is being exposed for the total racist, unethical, unqualified, leftist hack that she is. I don't see how she could possibly be re-elected as SA or elected to any other position for that matter. That's the silver lining in all of this.

Drivers license up for renewal so decided to get that "real ID," bullshit, brought lots of required documents and threw in my "city key,"ID card which they looked at and said "this is not acceptable,it is like a fake id," Hmm was my thought, and away we go I asked why then are illegals allowed to get this card and can vote in any election in the corrupt city of Chicago and yet it is not valid? The woman had no reply,then I asked "Since jesse white is part of the swamp here how will illegals obtain drivers licenses and be able to fly as they are illegal and cannot obtain a "real ID?" My question was met with a cold state and complete silence. So after over 3 hours and every document i had being scanned was told I would have my real ID type drivers license mailed in about 8 weeks as the system was backed up.
Strange thing was wife had her drivers license renewed last year and it had to be mailed as all information had to be verified but yet it was not a "real id." Well we live in a fake state,in a corrupt county and the most corrupt city in the entire country,the democrats have made almost everything here "fake," as they are all criminally liable for all the "fake" actions against the criminals and yet they tax the hard working law abiding citizens constantly.

One can’t help to notice the staunch defender of FOP Pat Murray’s outrageous salary increase failed to mention the $8,400 stipend on top of the over $200,000 salary. I might add this defender is annoymous so if he/she feels that strongly that what they did is right then post your name. Time to put up or shut up.

Well since I was the only one to defend it, you must be talking about me. However I always sign my name to every comment. More should try it.
It was no mystery that Pat was going to be MANDATORY retired in March of 2019 when he was elected. Also Kevin was fully aware of this when he named Pat a field rep. He had 2 years to address the situation diff6but he didnt.
Like I said if you dont like the rules then you try and change them you have till may 30th to get 12 signatures of members in good standing on your bylaw change. Take it to bella to be stamped and the process begins. If not then maybe find something else to bitch about.

I’m somewhat confused. He’s getting a $230,000 salary that is pensionable? Thought the field reps received captains pay that is pensionable. Not sure the FOP can take a roll call vote and raise someone’s pension. FOP cannot dictate how much someone gets in their pension. Don’t believe for a second his $8,400 stipend is pensionable

The FOP received an email today from WBEZ reporter Shannon Heffernan about some racist group called the Proud Boys allegedly attending our protest earlier this week over Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx’s handling of the Jussie Smollett case. Heffernan’s questions were pointed, perhaps implying we knew about the group.
Here is what Heffernan tweeted today:
"At the FOP protest, over State's Attorney Kim Foxx's office's decision on Jussie Smollett, I noticed a handful of people who were wearing clothing identifying themselves as members of the Proud Boys (self-proclaimed "western chauvinist") and The American Guard."
Here is what I responded to Heffernan's inquiries about the FOP knowing about the group and their presence at the protest:
"You got a lot of nerve, you know that?"
Later, we received an email from a reporter named Zach Stafford from the Advocate:
“Hope all is well. We are hearing rumors that the Proud Boys, a well-known hate group founded by Gavin McInnes, was present with the FOP’s protesters yesterday.
Can you confirm that they joined you all in your protests against Foxx? And did you all coordinate this at all prior the event?”
The suggestion, implication, or even correlation that the FOP would in any way associate itself with a racist hate group is a sign of just how biased, malevolent, and extreme the media is in their antipathy toward the police.
It is as if the media cannot even tolerate the police exercising their own First Amendment rights and must find some way, any way, to condemn the media, even if it means tying us to some racist hate group few of us have even heard of.

The Proud Boys are not a racist group. Gave McInnes is a co-founder of Vice. He split with them when Vice went far left, but only a left-wing loon would say they are a racist group. Whoever that woman is deserves absolutely no attention to be paid. She is gonna puke out some bullshit no matter what the response is.
CPD officers, you have my sympathy. I wish I thought that things were going to get better for you. They are not. Lightfoot was better than Preckwinkle only in the same sense that lung cancer is better than pancreatic cancer. Either choice sucked big time.
The reality of any U.S. city is that the higher the population of blacks, the lower the livability of the city. Blacks just bring too much crime, corruption and danger with them. Your problem is that you a) can't successfully police in a neighborhood that refuses to cooperate, b) have a City Hall bureaucracy that is ready to knife you in the back in any way possible and at every opportunity, and c) have a continuing demographic shift that is filling your city with denizens whose respect for the law is measured in negative numbers.
I don't know how you overcome all of those problems in a legal fashion. They have been successfully dealt with elsewhere through extrajudicial means, but I don't think that will happen in Chicago. Consequently, since you're now losing the battle and won't be allowed to win, all CPD members should be asking themselves how to manage to get to pension date without taking chances that might get you killed.
I wish you all the best of luck. I suspect you'll need every bit of it.
