Heat on Crimesha Increases
She's been denounced by assorted professional organizations, lambasted by media talking heads, mocked by legislators looking to see why she disregards the laws they have written. Now she faces calls for a Special Prosecutor:
- A South Side attorney filed a petition Thursday asking for a special prosecutor to look into whether “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett should be re-charged with staging a hate crime as well as whether Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx or her subordinates interfered with the investigation.
The filing by Saani Mohammed, who until recently was an assistant state’s attorney in Foxx’s office, marked the first formal request that a special prosecutor be appointed since the bombshell decision last week to drop all charges against Smollett.
Saying Foxx’s handling of the case was “plagued with irregularity,” Mohammed’s 10-page petition asked that presiding Criminal Court Judge Leroy Martin Jr. appoint a special prosecutor to investigate whether Foxx “acted to impede the investigation … concealed evidence, and/or intentionally misled the public.”
- A group of suburban police chiefs joined with the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police to give Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx a vote of no confidence Thursday in the latest fallout over her office’s abrupt dismissal of charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.
FOP President Kevin Graham and some 30 suburban police leaders took it a step further at a news conference, calling on Foxx to resign from her elected office.
“People standing around me can give you countless examples of how Ms. Foxx’s lack of prosecution has cost our members and police officers … an enormous amount of problems,” Graham said. “Not to mention the fact that the people in Cook County are depending on prosecutors to put people in jail and charge them accordingly.”

You had such media coverage and you could have made this issue 10x's better and dramatically and came across more intelligent. That’s not entirely correct. Harvey has in the past applied to be part of SSMCTF, but they lacked the required documentation and demonstration to meet criteria that is required of every member department, such as evidence vault procedures among others.
Also, Harvey is not the only one that has not been accepted to the SSMCTF. Robbins has petitioned and been denied, for an assortment of reasons. Dixmoor has been on and off, frequently suspended for not meeting the paltry required financial membership contribution. They also have a department in which prisoners can’t be held because it doesn’t meet state mandate.
Ed now needs to be called out! He should have been there. He called the 10-1 on this case and all the Police Cheifs came to his aide and he was a no show! Fuck Ed! Isn’t Ed black!

Nonetheless, I am proud of every single Chief of Police who showed up at the conference and Kevin for putting it together. I think what bothers me the most about all of this is that in reality the truth is that wanting Kim Foxx to resign is not racist in any manner. The ENTIRE issue is that she has demonstrated a level of incompetence in handling the office of Cook County State Attorney. It has NOTHING to do with the color of her skin. I have not heard anyone who wants her out refer to her as a black State Attorney. They just refer to her title. Yet, everyone who defends her thows in the fact that she is black. So who are the real racists here?
I could care less what race Kim Foxx is. If she was white, brown, yellow or green I still would want her out because of the complete disregard for our laws she has shown. I just want my elected officials to do the job they were elected to do. A prosecutor prosecutes in the majority of the counties in the U.S. Is it too much to ask for the same here? Competence in that office should be demanded not just requested. If the voters of Cook County dont wake up and realize that Foxx has done far more damage to the people of this county than she has done good,and vote her out (we all know she wont resign) we are doomed to live in an even more lawless county for the next few years. Voter apathy amongst the law abidiing people of this county has to stop! The sad thing is, I know it won't happen. The most important mayoral election in recent time had a dismal turnout. The frustration is boiling over.

Guys (or girls) like you have an opinion and we all know what else everyone has! Im doubting your claim that you are a retired officer because you cant even spell it! I enjoy being Mr Public. I also enjoy speaking up intelligently and trying to do something postive instead of sitting back and just complaining.
